Chapter 84 Sam Vs Annie

nShe had seen people underestimate her de-buff spell due it its pretty and non-lethal appearance and she had half-expected the brown haired boy to do the same.

nJust like Sam, she also wanted to avoid her opponent’s spells and attacks so she didn’t plan on giving him any rest or chance to even cast an attack spell.

nThe frown on her face deepened as she stretched her hand towards the ‘dusts’ on the stage.

nBeads of sweats formed on her forehead as she channelled her mana and tried to control the ‘light dusts’ to move faster.

nIf she managed to control those ‘dusts’ and make them all hit sam, her chances of winning would definitely shoot up.

nThe particles of ‘dusts’ suddenly shone brighter as they paused in their movements.

nThis created another beautiful scene; the eyes of some of the students closer to the stage sparkled. They couldn’t help but admire the scene of bright glowing white ‘dusts’ in front of them.

nHowever, the person closest to this ‘beautiful scene’ didn’t stop for even a second to even take a second glance at it.

nThe ‘light dusts’ shone for only a second before suddenly shooting forwards towards Sam.

nSam paused for a moment and then looked back, his eyes widened when he noticed the ‘dust particles’ behind him that had suddenly doubled in speed.

nHe didn’t put his focus on it for long as he immediately dash forwards with blue lightning dancing around his body.

nHe gritted his teeth and then tried increasing his speed again, he already knew what the light Elementalist was trying to do.

nShe was controlling those particles so they would meet up with him and then hit him so the de-buff would take effect.

nUsually, a normal stage one Elementalist couldn’t control or move a spell like that after casting it, but things were different when it came to Light Elementalists.

nThey could make slight changes to the aim, speed and movements of their spell after casting it.

nThere was a reason light was regarded as a special and the most versatile element.

nWhen it came to speed, light was the fastest element, followed by lightning then wind. Their spells were also very destructive and were capable of causing lots of damage.

nEven though the element’s defence wasn’t as strong or solid as that of the earth element, it wasn’t weak either.

nCoupled with the fact that a light Elementalist could act as support in a fight, assisting from behind using buff and de-buff spells.

nAt that moment, murmurings of displeasure started rising from the other students in the hall, however, they were quickly shut down by the instructors.

nSince Sam had just being running around while trying to escape the from the beautiful white dust particles. the fight had gotten boring to them. What they wanted was too more action!

nHowever, the last thing that was on the Lightning Elementalist’s mind was to satisfy his ‘spectators’, it was were the same set of students that would mock him later if he lost.

nEven though it appeared like he was running around aimlessly, he wasn’t. Sam’s eyes were also focused on his opponent.

nSince the light elementalist placed all her focus on controlling the ‘light dusts’ and making them hit the brown haired boy, she had completely ignored her defence, her body was wide open to any attack from Sam.

nBesides, she should definitely be under a lot of strain from controlling the particles since that alone required mana, so the chances of her launching a counter spell were low.

nA slight smile appeared on the brown haired boy’s face as he took a huge gamble, when he got to another edge of the stage, he dispelled Lightning Dash.

nHis speed dropped by half and the dust particles closed in on him even faster, but he didn’t let that distract him.

nHe stretched his hand and then quickly channeled his elemental mana.

n“Lightning Ball!” He shouted as he stretched his right hand forwards while making a slight spun.

nBlue Lightning cackled around his palm before coming together, merging into a small ball.

nSam didn’t wait for the ball to expand completely before he launched the spell towards his opponent.

nThe lightning ball travelled in the air with astonishing speed, its size and lightning ‘density’ rapidly increasing as it closed in on the black haired girl.

nAnnie’s eyes widened as she saw the blue ball cackling violently with blue lightning rapidly approaching her.

nShe immediately dispelled her de-buff spell and then tried to cast a counter spell and defend herself from the incoming attack.

nUnfortunately, she was too slow and wasn’t able to channel her mana for a new spell before the lightning ball closed in on her.

nHer eyes widened and her body was momentarily illuminated by the bright blue lint of the ball before it collided against her chest with full force.

nHer back arched as her figure flew backwards by a few centimetres before she hit the side of the stage and landed on the ground.

nA low groan escaped her lips as she gritted her teeth. A mild shocking sensation kept spreading from her chest to the rest of her body, making her whole body feel slightly paralysed.

nMeanwhile, Sam didn’t get lax even though he had already successfully connected an attack.

nIn fact he was a little disappointed, he had actually aimed that last attack to Annie’s face and not her chest. 𝚍n𝚘v𝚕.𝚝

nHowever, because of the distance between them and the his momentum while launching the spell, the spell deviated from its original aim and hit her chest instead.

nHe still sprinted towards his opponent, except this time, with his normal speed and no speed-boost spell.

nThe last spell he casted—Lightning Ball—was channeled rather hurriedly and his mind and mana core was still under some strain so he couldn’t cast a boost spell like Lightning Dash yet.
