n“Let’s step out into the open, where the fresh air can clear our minds,” Zhang Wei suggested, reaching for Yu Lei’s hand and ushering her out of the gloomy warehouse.

nYu Lei stumbled over some debris, her heart racing with fear. “What about the bodies?” she asked, her voice trembling.

nZhang Wei halted, his eyes widening with disbelief. ‘She still remembers the mess I made?’

n“What about them?” he asked, trying to gauge her intentions.

nYu Lei paused for a moment, her mind racing with possibilities. She finally spoke up, her voice low and urgent.

n“We must dispose of them before the authorities get wind of this. We can’t risk getting caught,” she said, her eyes darting around the deserted alleyway.

nZhang Wei couldn’t help but chuckle at her seriousness. He let go of her hand and gestured for her to handle the task.

n“Then go ahead and bury them, my dear,” he said, his words sending shivers down Yu Lei’s spine.

nHer gaze fell upon the lifeless body lying nearby, its skull crushed beyond repair. She recoiled in disgust. “No way! You go do it!” she protested, pushing him back into the warehouse.

nZhang Wei chuckled to himself as he tugged Yu Lei along, her protests falling on deaf ears.

nHe couldn’t help but marvel at the absurdity of the situation.

nHere was a girl who couldn’t bear to look at the bodies they had left behind, yet she suggested hiding them.

n‘What kind of mind games is she playing?’ he thought, eyeing her suspiciously.

nAs they made their way out of the port authority, Zhang Wei suddenly stopped in his tracks and turned to face Yu Lei, his expression grave.

n“What do you think about killing a person?” he asked, his voice low and serious.

nYu Lei’s eyes widened in shock, her mind racing with fear and confusion. “Um, it’s not right, is it?” she stuttered, her voice laced with suspicion.

nZhang Wei nodded slowly, his eyes never leaving hers.

nHe couldn’t help but wonder if Yu Lei had been affected by her last experiences, her mind warped by the violence she had witnessed.

nWhile walking continuously, they finally arrived at Pier 42, an entertainment complex controlled by the notorious White Tigers gang. The pier had a rich history, having been converted into a family-friendly area with shops, restaurants, and movie theaters.

nZhang Wei led Yu Lei to a secluded area with no one around before turning to her with a serious expression.

n“The people I killed, some of them were innocent. What do you think about that?” he asked, his voice laced with curiosity.

nYu Lei was taken aback by his sudden question, her mind racing with conflicting thoughts.

nShe couldn’t deny that killing innocents was wrong, but at the same time, she couldn’t bring herself to hate Zhang Wei for doing it.

nHer thoughts were interrupted by the bitter taste in her mouth as she remembered Song Ruolan’s unfortunate death.

nIt was a cruel and senseless act, and Yu Lei couldn’t understand why anyone would do such a thing.

nBut when it was done by Zhang Wei, she couldn’t help but feel a strange mix of fear and attraction towards him.

nShe didn’t want to come to a conclusion just yet, not until she heard his side of the story.

nShe didn’t want to repeat the mistake she did with Hao Yue’s case and slander him for no reason.

nAt the end, she spoke plainly, “You promised to tell me everything once we got home, right? So why dwell on it now?” Her voice brimmed with confidence, a trait that Zhang Wei admired about her.

nUnlike other women, she never jumped to conclusions and always waited for the right moment to ask the right questions, making her the perfect candidate for a housewife.

nShe had a keen sense of Zhang Wei’s moods and knew when to approach him with sensitive issues, always careful not to add to his troubles.

nShe had done the same with the case of Hao Yue, and if it weren’t for Zhang Wei’s assertiveness, she might have taken much longer to confront him about it.

nBut Zhang Wei couldn’t let it rest. He gripped her shoulders and shook her, his voice rising. “We don’t have to wait until we get home! I killed that little girl for no reason other than to see Song Hu’s despair. What do you say to that?”

nZhang Wei was losing his patience with her, but he couldn’t help feeling a twinge of admiration for her unwavering composure in the face of his anger.

nZhang Wei prided himself on always having perfect information about people’s thoughts and beliefs, but right now, he couldn’t seem to see through her at all.

nYu Lei’s entire sight trembled as Zhang Wei shook her furiously.

nAt the end, she forced an awkward smile and simply nodded in agreement. “Oh,” she murmured, affirming his words without truly considering them.

nThis only fueled Zhang Wei’s frustration, causing him to grip her shoulders even tighter and eliciting a pained wince from her.

nHost, I think she needs some time to process today’s events, the system interjected, sensing the situation was about to escalate.

nZhang Wei had a tendency to go overboard when he didn’t get what he wanted, behaving recklessly and without regard for others.

nZhang Wei heard her groan in pain and immediately released her, a troubled expression crossing his face.

nHe didn’t consider apologizing, as it wasn’t something he was accustomed to doing.

nYu Lei looked equally distressed, and quickly changed the subject by pointing in a certain direction. “Hey, look over there!”

nZhang Wei was hesitant to follow her gaze, but eventually turned his head to see what she was referring to. “What about them?” he asked, puzzled.

nHe saw two couples kissing on the beach, but he couldn’t understand what was so special about it.

nHowever, he couldn’t help but scan the couples to see if any of them were important figures.

nYu Lei bit her lip in frustration, feeling that Zhang Wei was being dense. With a protesting voice, she said, “Why can’t you be more like him? A romantic guy!”

nZhang Wei’s lips twitched in annoyance at her words. “You want me to do what he’s doing?” he asked. 𝒪𝑽𝓵xt.𝒸𝔬𝑀

n“Uh-huh,” Yu Lei nodded, closing the distance between them.

nZhang Wei shrugged. “Fine,” he said, and without warning, he backed away, causing Yu Lei to stagger, and started walking in the direction of the couple.

n“What?” Yu Lei exclaimed in surprise and confusion. “Where are you going?” she asked.

nZhang Wei replied matter-of-factly, “I’m going to kiss his wife!”

nYu Lei’s lips parted in shock, unsure of how to react.

nShe didn’t know whether to laugh or cry at him.

nShe had asked him to be more romantic, not to go and kiss someone else’s wife!

nUnsure of what to do, she chased after him and stopped him, but she couldn’t help but wonder if he was actually going to follow through with his plan.

nAfter exploring a few more places, Zhang Wei finally parted ways with her and left her to make her way home alone.

nDespite her reluctance to go solo, she surprisingly didn’t protest and even urged him to be more cautious.

nMeanwhile, Yu Lei had to deal with her absence at office today.

nShe had neither shown up nor given any indication of her whereabouts.

nIt turned out that she had been kidnapped on her way to work by the driver of her office car, who took her to a foreign place before finally dropping her off at the foreign building.

nAs Zhang Wei watched the cab drive away, he let out a deep sigh and made his way back to the port authority.

nWith his legs infused with qi, he moved swiftly and silently from one spot to another like a shadow.

n…..

nIn a different location, Leng Yan slowly regained consciousness.

nHer eyelids felt heavy as she struggled to remember how she ended up in her current predicament.

nSuddenly, her eyes shot open and she cursed under her breath, “That bastard sneak attacked me!”

nDespite being bound by ropes, Leng Yan easily tore them apart with her bare hands.

nHer eyes blazed with fury as she made her way to the abandoned warehouse, determined to teach Zhang Wei a lesson he would never forget.
