nChi Wei must have deliberately chosen that position. It was obvious that she was trying to attract Song Ci’s attention!
nAs expected.
nAs soon as Song Ci heard Chi Wan’s words, his previously relaxed brows became tight again. He averted his gaze in disgust.
n“Ignore her.”
n“I won’t bother with a girl who has no substance.”
n…
nHigh schools had always tested their students on the first day of school. It was to gauge the freshmen’s capabilities. Additionally, it was to see if everyone had kept up with their studies during the long vacation.
nPei Shulan’s class was no exception.
nThe examination papers for each subject were quickly distributed to the students, including Chi Wei.
nChi Wei leaned against her chair. The petite girl curled up in a corner, looking even smaller. She picked up the paper and casually flipped through it. She glanced at the name of the person who had prepared the test. Then, she put it down, looking bored.
n‘It had only been a few years since I last saw my students, but their knowledge had deteriorated to this extent?
n‘They even wrote such nonsensical questions.
n‘I must discipline them soon.’
nIt was the same for the following subjects.
nChi Wei nonchalantly browsed through all of them. She already knew the solutions in her heart. In the end, she dully picked up her pen and wrote down the answers.
nThe last subject was Chinese.
nChi Wei had the least experience on this subject because her focus was usually on scientific subjects.
nIt interested Chi Wei a little but she quickly solved the questions without much hindrance, until she happened upon a particular question.
n Three years ago, our country’s famous scientist, Professor Chi, discovered the X element and won the Nobel Prize. However, she did not attend the award ceremony. Instead, a representative brought a letter written by Professor Chi and in it was written as follows: A villager needed help planting trees, so I am unable to attend. Please forgive me.
n What is the true meaning behind Professor Chi’s words?
n…
n?????
nChi Wei frowned.
nThere were very few people with the surname Chi. Besides her, there was no other researcher who had won the Nobel Prize three years ago. So, the person that the question was referring to could be none other than her.
nBut, what was the meaning of the words she had written?
nChi Wei stopped in her tracks. She hesitated for a moment and then proceeded to write what she was genuinely thinking at that time.
n Professor Chi saw her neighbor trying to plant some jujube trees so she lent a helping hand. It was purely a coincidence that the incident occurred around the same time as the award ceremony.
nThe bell rang, indicating that the exam was over.
nAs soon as the teacher collected all the papers, the classroom, which was originally very quiet, suddenly became extremely noisy. Mournful voices could be heard one after another.
n“Ah, the test was too hard!”
n“Isn’t this supposed to be just a basic assessment test? How dare Yao Bing come up with such difficult questions! I’m finished…”
nThen, the students directed their attention towards Song Ci and Chi Wan, who were sitting next to each other.
n“Wanwan, Almighty Song, the both of you looked so relaxed. Did the questions not faze you?”
n“Of course not. Not only does Wanwan and Almighty Song look good, but their results are also top-notch. I reckon that they will both place first and second again!”
n“How could it possibly be easy…” said Chi Wan as she put her pen down. She smiled lightly and continued, “The questions were still very difficult. Although I’ve solved them, I’m not entirely confident.”
n“That’s right!”
n“Sister, were you able to understand those questions?” Chi Wan suddenly asked Chi Wei.
nChi Wei paused for a moment and said, “They all lack standards.”
n
