n“Yaoyao, stop causing trouble…”

nSong Wenchuan furrowed his brows as he tried to pull Song Yaoyao away.

nBut he discovered she was gripping very tightly. Each time he pulled a finger free, she immediately grabbed on again.

nSong Wenchuan couldn’t laugh nor cry. “Song Yaoyao!” he reprimanded helplessly. “If you keep causing trouble, I’m going to hit you. If you don’t go to the hospital when you’re sick, you’re going to regret it if something goes wrong!”

n“I’m fine.”

nSong Yaoyao’s lips were dry and her voice was weak.

nShe used Song Wenchuan as a support, sat up, and looked at him stubbornly. “Since the car has stopped, I noticed a chestnut store across the road. Go buy some for me.”

n“Yaoyao, stop it.”

nSong Jingwan stepped out of the car and stood behind Song Wenchuan. “If you want to be childish, there’s a time for that. Right now, Wenchuan is really worried about you.”

nBut the usually obedient Song Yaoyao did not act like herself and was extremely noisy.

n“I want to eat it. Buy it for me right now!”

nShe raised her voice, but due to the raspiness in her throat, it sounded a little sharp.

nSong Wenchuan was worried but helpless. “Go to the hospital first. After the doctor confirms that you are okay, I will buy you whatever you want to eat, alright?”

n“No!”

nSong Yaoyao grabbed onto Song Wenchuan’s sleeve. “I know my own body better than anyone. Hurry! Hurry!”

nThe lighting in the car was dim so Song Wenchuan couldn’t see her expression clearly. All he could make out was a pair of stubborn eyes. Her tone was hasty as though she wanted to shoo him away.

nSong Wenchuan furrowed his brows and began to feel a little suspicious. “Yaoyao, tell me, did you see something?”

n“I see chestnuts.”

nThe girl looked down; her eyelashes were moist.

nShe licked her lips and said, “If you don’t buy it, I’m not going anywhere. Hurry!”

n“Fine, I’ll go buy some.”

nSong Wenchuan sighed, turned around, and looked at the traffic. There was indeed a chestnut store across the road.

nThe girl’s eyesight was quite good.

n“Are you really fine? A moment ago, was it hurting somewhere?”

n“Aiya, you’re so annoying! Hurry~” Song Yaoyao stretched out her hands and started pushing him away.

nSong Wenchuan didn’t know what to do about her. Seeing that she was looking a little better, he nodded his head. “Fine, I’ll go right now. You’ve honestly got me at my wit’s end!”

nHe shook his head, avoided the cars, and ran over to buy some chestnuts.

nAll of a sudden, only Song Yaoyao and Song Jingwan remained in the car.

nSong Yaoyao’s pain hadn’t completely subsided. As she gripped onto Song Wenchuan’s coat, she huffed and puffed.

nSong Jingwan watched from outside and suddenly started laughing.

n“Yaoyao, were you acting earlier? It seemed quite real.”

nThe night sky was foggy and not a star could be seen. The girl laughed as she spoke in a casual manner.

nMockery flashed across her eyes.

nSong Yaoyao wrapped herself in Song Wenchuan’s coat, revealing just her eyes without making a sound.

n“Is there a point in worrying Wenchuan like this?” Song Jingwan held onto the door. “Doesn’t he care about you and dote on you enough?”

nWhen you’re around, he completely neglects me!

n“Pfft—”

nHer words made Song Yaoyao laugh. However, she was feeling unwell, so she struggled a little.

nAll of a sudden, she grabbed onto Song Jingwan’s collar and pulled her into the car.

nInside the dimly lit car, their eyes met and Song Yaoyao revealed an unpredictable smile.

n“Do you think he doesn’t dote on you? We are both his sisters. He cares about us equally. You simply think he treats me better because you’re too possessive. I bet you want me to die so he will only have you in his eyes!”

n
