n“What happened?” Hongling was eager to hear some juicy gossip although she was truly concerned. She knew that not many things were able to affect Chu Wuyou’s emotions.

n“Not much, really. Someone set me up with a jerk that wanted to assault me. I’ve already sorted it out.” Chu Wuyou revealed the truth as she pouted.

nShe always felt like a little child in front of Senior Hongling. She was grateful for the support both her seniors provided her all these years.

nShe had long treated them as her family thus she would not deliberately disguise her feelings in front of them, especially with Senior Hongling.

nThe two of them had a really close relationship.

n“Who’s bold enough to set their eyes on you?” Hongling’s tone was laced with playfulness instead of worry. Was the person thinking of bullying Chu Wuyou asking for death?

n“When will you be back? I miss you and the two darlings,” Hongling said again.

n“Not just yet.” Chu Wuyou heaved a heavy sigh. She also wished she could return sooner but she had no other alternative.

n“Because of your temporary husband.” A playful smile spread across Hongling’s face.

n“Yup.” Chu Wuyou puckered her red lips before revealing a smile. “He’s still legally my husband although just temporarily. There’s still eleven more months to go before the contract expires.”

nShe suddenly felt like time passed by unbelievably slow. It had only been less than a month since she married Ye Lanchen although it felt like a lifetime.

n“Ha, you still have to suffer for quite a while.” Hongling failed to suppress her laughter on the other end of the phone.

nOver in the other room, Ye Lanchen’s face darkened gradually. Temporary husband?

nShe only regarded him as a temporary husband. Besides, she sounded as if she was eager for the contract to end?!

nThe woman made it sound like one day with him seemed like a year.

nChu Wuyou reckoned it should be alright to ignore the man since she was in the middle of another conversation.

nThrough narrowed eyes, he stared intently at the woman on the security footage, as if eager to eat her alive.

nShe took a glance at the phone and noticed that Ye Lanchen had called. However, she pretended to have no clue and instead continued speaking “tenderly and affectionately” with that “Senior.”
