Chapter 14: A Way

nHe Qingqing dragged her tired body back home. At home, a burly man sat cross legged and opened his eyes.

nThis big burly man was He Jianyong. Cha Mountain Posts commander and He Qingqing’s father. He Jianyong’s figure was very tall, and the sturdy arms exposed from his shirt were lined with scars. His hair reached his shoulders and was tied into a ponytail behind his head giving off the impression like he was a hurricane swordmaster, but it was a bit shorter and messier. Upon seeing He Qingqing, his face softened.

n“Qingqing, where did play today. How did you get so tired.”

nHe Qingqing suddenly smiled and responded mysteriously: “It’s a secret. I won’t tell you.”

nHe Qingqing’s appearance caused He Jianyong to laugh out loud.

nHe Qingqing suddenly thought of something. She wrinkled her nose and said to He Jianyong: “Daddy, the answer you said was wrong! I’m never going to ask you questions again.”

nHe Jianyao had question marks all over his face: “What answer?”

nHe Qingqing gestured: “That one. What sick person can’t see a doctor answer.”

nHe Jianyong interestedly said: “Oh? That wasn’t right? Then what’s the answer?”

n“The answer is a blind person!”

nHe Jianyao thought over a bit before suddenly reacting. With a hand on his stomach he laughed out loud: “Hahaha. Interesting, interesting! Indeed a blind person is correct.”

nHe Qingqing angrily stomped her feet: “Daddy you’re even laughing. Xiangwu said anyone who couldn’t answer was an idiot. He doesn’t play with idiots.”

nHe Jianyao laughed again: “Old Third’s son is pretty funny. Qingqing, go find Xiangwu to play more often in the future.”

n“Hmph! You can’t even answer this question, why do you care!”

nHe Jianyao could only scratch his head embarrassedly. 𝘪𝘳.𝘤𝑜

nSu Hao slowly trudged his way home. As soon as he entered the door, he saw the vegetable egg soup Wu Yuntian handed him.

nSu Hao didn’t stand on manners and gulped it down.

nWu Yuntian put the bowl aay and pointed to a cushion: “Sit there and slowly feel the changes in your body.”

nSaying that, he left and closed the door.

nHow to feel it? Su Hao had no idea and could only slowly try and find out. First he emptied his mind and let himself enter a state without thoughts. At times like these, a person’s spirit would be raised to its highest level. It was like meditating. Then…

nThen Su Hao fell asleep.

nHe truly was too tired. He couldn’t help but fall asleep, failing.

nLooking at the logs and the time, over an hour had passed. His father came back in once, but seeing Su Hao was sleeping, he left with a smile. 𝑖𝘦.𝒸𝘰𝘮

nStanding up to stretch out his legs, he began to reflect on himself.

n“How could I sleep for such an important matter? Su Hao, oh Su Hao. Your willpower is too weak. How will you practice martial arts? Keep dreaming!”

nHe made up his mind to control himself, he couldn’t fall asleep again.

nBut after thinking about how tired he would be again next time before meditating, Su Hao couldn’t help but sigh: “It turns out athletes had it pretty hard huh.”

nThe next day, the sound of running echoed through the valley.

nOriginally it had just been Su Hao running alone, but after telling He Qingqing and the other two that the secret to becoming smart was running, they were added to Su Hao’s group. Four little ones were panting and running.

nIn order to add to his persuasiveness, Su Hao even asked He Qingqing a problem: “ In a creek there are three fish. One got caught. How many are left?”

nHe Qingqing quickly answered: “Two!”

n“Correct! See, you’ve only run for a day and Qingqing can already start answering the questions! So amazing!”

nHe Qingqing beamed and the two followers also believed in it more.

n……

nReturning home, Su Hao drank vegetable egg soup and asked: “Father, why drink vegetable egg soup?”

n“Because it is absorbed quickly.”

nSo it was like that. Su Hao no longer had other thoughts and focused on the feeling within his body, but he still didn’t make any progress. The good thing was that he had been able to control his desire to sleep.

nOne month later.

nSu Hao sat there with his eyes open shaking his head. It still didn’t work. In this month, every morning he would exhaust himself to death, then drink vegetable egg soup, and meditate. But no matter how much tried, he couldn’t discover the blood qi his father talked about. He even started to wonder if the method his father mentioned had problems with it.

nHowever, this month of running and meditating hadn’t been totally worthless. His body had changed quite a bit. His hands and feet had calloused, and he was stronger. He no longer was like at the start where he could only run for a bit before his legs would tremble. Of course, as his body became stronger, the harder it was to deplete his strength. The stronger he was, the harder it was to run out of energy.

nBy sitting in meditation, Su Hao’s mind was freed from many distractions and was no longer the same as the start, where as soon as he would sit down and close his eyes, he would already think of what he would eat tomorrow.

nNow when he meditated, he could quickly remove distractions and let his mind focus on the one thing, and his thinking became more clear. He also liked the feeling of sitting by himself peacefully.

nTo put it simply, he liked being in a daze.

nBut being in a daze couldn’t allow him to find blood qi.

nThis day, Su Hao found Wu Yuntian and raised a question: “Father, I’ve followed your directions and exhausted myself then mediated. But a month has passed and I still haven’t had any changes, I still can’t find where the blood qi is. Am I doing this right?”

nWu Yuntian shook his head: “Xiangwu, you didn’t do anything wrong. But the matter of finding blood qi isn’t as easy as you think it is. This is a common barrier people face when becoming a martial artist. You can only rely on yourself for this barrier. If you can’t find your blood qi, no one else can help you. This is also the reason why not everyone in the human clan can become a martial artist. Every year there are countless people who are blocked out by the barrier to becoming a martial artist.”

nSu Hao frowned and said: “What should I do now?”

nWu Yuntian comforted: “No need to worry. Slowly comprehend. Let your heart be completely immersed. If one month isn’t enough, then half a year. If half a year isn’t enough, then one year. You will find it.”

nSu Hao was suddenly curious: “Father, how long did it take you to find your blood qi?”

nWu Yuntian didn’t want to say. Could he tell his genius son that he had taken a full year and a half to find blood qi? The answer was no. Because he couldn’t be sure when his genius son would suddenly find his blood qi. If they were compared at that time, where would he put his old face? The best way to do things was to just remain silent and let him guess. In this year, his son had given him too many surprises. Even if his son suddenly ran up and said that he found the blood qi tomorrow, would he even be surprised?

nSeeing Wu Yuntian not speaking for a while, Su Hao assumed that his speed was slow and his father didn’t want to embarrass him. He said unwillingly: “Fine. Don’t worry father, I’ll work hard. Sooner or later I’ll find blood qi.”

nWu Yuntian nodded and said: “I have something to do and I need to leave.”

nWithout looking back, he left.

nAlone by himself, Su Hao felt secretly hurt: “What method will work? What exactly is blood qi? It’s so mysterious…”

nThinking for a while, Su Hao raised his head all of a sudden, his eyes lit up.

n“There’s a way! It has to work!”
