n“Why? You don’t want to know anymore?” Jing Chen did not return because of this. Instead, he stopped outside the police station and got out first. He went to Su Wan’s side and opened the passenger seat door, indicating for her to get out.

nSu Wan sat in the car stubbornly and didn’t move at all. “I know Bai Lian isn’t anymore. There’s no need to go see personally.”

nThere was no need to rush to her suffering.

nBut Jing Chen did not give in. His eyes were fixed on Su Wan.

nThe two of them were in a deadlock for a few minutes. Jing Chen narrowed his eyes and explained, “Even if Bai Lian was the one who instigated it, Jing Jing didn’t say anything about her and has been denying it. The police don’t have evidence either. If they don’t have evidence, there’s nothing they can do.”

nHe sounded so dignified.

nSu Wan chuckled. “Do you really need evidence? Is there anything you, Jing Chen, can’t resolve? Are all the people who offended dealt with by the police?”

nJing Chen rubbed the center of his brows and sighed. “Wanwan, you’re making things difficult for me.”

n“I wouldn’t dare.”

nJing Chen smiled. “There’s nothing you don’t dare to do now.”

n“In the end, you still believe Bai Lian’s words, right? Even if this incident started because of her, you still choose to believe her? Even if you’re late, it’s fine if that man really did something to me, right?”

nSu Wan gritted her teeth and finished speaking. She was like a deflated balloon, unusually quiet and expressionless.

nJing Chen could tell at one glance that she was angry. He said honestly, “He had twenty minutes. That man didn’t do anything to you. He lost his courage after he realized that you were Lady Jing.”

nSu Wan, who was lying on the bed, flashed past Jing Chen’s mind, especially the marks left behind. He pursed his lips.

nBut Su Wan was stunned when she heard this.

nTwenty minutes…

nShe stayed in that man’s room for twenty minutes!

nSu Wan looked at Jing Chen in disbelief and said, “You only arrived after twenty minutes?”

nJing Chen glanced at her and touched his nose, looking slightly uncomfortable. “We went to the surveillance room to look for you for a while.”

n“Mm…”

nThe two of them fell into silence again. Jing Chen closed the car door and got into the car.

n“I’ll send you home to rest.”

n“Jing Chen, do you know what others will say about me?” Su Wan felt bitter.

nJing Chen thought of what Qin Lan had told him and frowned. “Don’t worry. Those people’s retribution won’t be lighter than Jing Jing’s.”

nSu Wan smiled. “They didn’t say anything wrong. Why should we give them retribution? Aren’t they telling the truth?”

n11_11

nSu Wan continued to smile. “That’s what you hear. What you didn’t hear is even worse. Is the Jing Family willing to refuse to cooperate with everyone for my sake?”

n“Su Wan, stop fooling around.”

n“Mm, I went overboard.” Su Wan stopped laughing. Her gaze was cold, and her tone was terrifyingly gloomy. “You ignored the main culprit, but you’re so good at managing unimportant people. Jing Chen, you’re funny.” Towards such a stubborn Su Wan, Jing Chen felt a headache coming on, especially when he had just gotten angry at Qin Lan. The anger that he had been suppressing all this time dissipated. He had already slept late last night and even woke up early.

nFor what?

nWasn’t it just to settle this matter?

nNot to mention the gossipers, they could only secretly gossip about it. As long as they casually mentioned it online, Jing Chen would make them pay with their blood.

nIt was fine if Su Wan didn’t know how to be grateful after he had done so much.

nBut she still had to be so aggressive.

n“Unreasonable.”

nAfter leaving behind this word, Jing Chen did not speak again. No matter what Su Wan said or how many injustices she ranted, in the end, she gritted her teeth and questioned why he had to be so ruthless to her!

nWhat did she do wrong? What did she do to let Jing Chen down?!

nHe never once spoke.

nSu Wan was tired.

nWhen they reached the house they had spent two years in, Su Wan felt a little unfamiliar.

nShe stopped Jing Chen who was about to get out of the car. “When are we going to collect our divorce certificate?”

nWhen would she be free?

nShe wanted to escape.

nJing Chen paused for a moment and looked at her in surprise. He sneered. “You’re agreeable on the surface but you’re playing tricks behind my back. Isn’t it your wish to not divorce?”

nSu Wan couldn’t be bothered to argue. “Yes, I changed my mind. If you don’t believe me, let’s go to the Civil Affairs Bureau and settle it immediately.” It was only then that Jing Chen looked at her. Seeing her serious expression, he sneered. “There are some things that you can’t do as you please. Just wait.”
