nInside her office, Florine can be seen. In front of her was a crystal ball that is showing the scene inside the only classroom that is occupied by the students in her Academy

nSince there are only 10 students in the Academy as of right now, all of them can be fit in a single classroom

nToday was a special day for the students of the academy as this is the first time that the Academy distributed the spirit plants that the Headmaster and the Vice Headmaster received from Rezen yesterday

nOne of the reasons why mages enter the Academy is the resources. They pay for the tuition fees and depending on the system of the academy, they would receive resources from time to time

nMost of the time, Academies have connections with various suppliers of these resources

nAs such, the students would receive more resources than if they use their money to buy resources in the market

nIn other words, the Academy is also like a wholesale store. The pills, spirit plants, and other resources were supplied to them in bulk for a low price

nThe Academy then use these resources to nourish their students with little to no markup at all

nThe Academies are also businesses as some organizations and families would make partnerships with them to have the chance to recruit the outstanding students they will nourish

nThat is one way for the Academies to earn income most of the time

nAs of right now, the Rising Sage Academy is a new Academy and they still lack foundation

nBut with the help of Rezen’s spirit plants, Florine’s academy would at least have one selling point

nFlorine watched the reaction of the ten students. At first, they were in doubt as they are ordered to try the top-grade vismian grass

nMost spirit plants would weaken a mage’s foundation upon consumption but since they are only asked to consume one, the students reluctantly agreed

nHowever, their reluctance soon turned into surprise. The vismian grass has no side effects and is even more potent than mana pills!

nSome students used the mana that they gained to condense their mystic gem on the spot

nSince these students have higher talent compared to Rezen, at the very least, they have superior talent and not just normal superior talents

nSuperior grade talent can absorb 40-59% of the effects of cultivation resources and these students are at least in the middle of their talent

nThey can absorb at least 50% of the mana of the vismian grass!

nThat is no doubt more than twenty times than Rezen’s pitiful talent can absorb!

nAs such, even a single vismian grass already has some effects on them!

nWhen the students opened their eyes, they stared at the vismian grass with disbelief. They had never heard of such spirit plants before and they are very eager to continue consuming more blades of grass but the teacher stops them

nThis teacher along with the other four more teachers that Florine hired for the Academy is already aware of the peculiarity of the spirit plants

nThe way the students reacted was as they expected

n“If all of you are finished trying the vismian grass, let’s move on. Consume the next spirit plant, the soul-tearing peas!” The teacher instructed and the students hesitated

nThese peas are infamous for the pain they brought and also the fact that some people died after using them and they are unwilling to consume them

nOf these ten students, three of them are here through the Academy’s scholarship

nThis means that the Academy would train and provide resources for them for free. But of course, although Florine is kind and he hopes to nurture as many students as possible, the Academy is still a business

nNourishing mages would depend on how profitable the Academy is. As such, after scholar students graduated and they have enough qualifications, they would be hired as instructors in the Academy with a salary lower than the ones in the market for a few years to pay off the resources used by them

nAfter the compulsory service, they are free to decide whether they wanted to stay and continue teaching with an increased salary or they can go take another path

nThese three scholar students are from the poor family and despite the infamous reputation of the peas, they still consumed them

nThat forces the other students that came from middle-class mage families to do the same. They are the ones that cannot afford the tuition fee from Top Academies and also don’t have enough talent to receive scholarships

nThese middle-class students would normally not use a spirit plant such as the soul-tearing pea but since they tried the vismian grass first, they have hopes for these peas

n“A-aaahhh!!!”

nSoon, the classroom was filled with the sound of students moaning

nThe peas still have pain as their side effect but not the pain that would make a person fearful or die

nIt was a type of pain that they weirdly enjoyed and they even have a greater desire to eat more peas than the vismian grass

nFlorine watched that scene, the side of her lips twitching. Those peas were really weird and for a moment, the atmosphere inside the classroom has become ambiguous

nThe students were embarrassed, especially the girls but since all of them are at least 18 years of age, they are not as innocent as a lamb anymore

nSome of the men stared at the women and the women stared at the men in a sticky way

n“E-ehem… ehem. Let’s move forward. This time, try the rainbow clementines” the teacher coughed before having the students try the next spirit plant

nThe most basic cultivation resources were those that provided mana and refined the soul and the next on the list would be the ones that upgrade the elixir field

nAs for the other type of resources, it’s good to have them but they are not at the bracket of bare minimum anymore

n“Good, good. These spirit plants don’t disappoint” Florine muttered as he watched the students try one spirit plant after another

nWith the low cost that she bought them for, her Rising Sage Academy wouldn’t be like the other academies that gain little to no markup from the resources that they provided

nAfter she made sure that all the students are craving and staring at the spirit plants with bloodshot eyes, she was relieved

nThe instructor continued to speak about the other agenda for today which was the ‘promo’

nIf these students can convince their families or friends to join the Rising Sage Academy, they would be given more spirit plants

nThey were even given some spirit plants to be used to convince other people that are not part of the resources that were given for their personal consumption

nFlorine soon stopped spying as she called her sister that was also the Vice Headmaster of the Academy

n“Rain, please photocopy this and stick some on the walls of our Academy” Florine said as she handed a piece of paper to her sister

nRain curiously looked at the paper and her eyes glowed

n“Special Variant Spirit Plants test?” Rain muttered

nThe paper contained information about the Academy in simpler terms having an open house

nThey are inviting mages and their children to attend and they would be given a chance to try these so-called special spirit plants

nIf they like the spirit plants and they want more, they have to enroll and become students in the Academy

nThis is giving these people a taste of what benefits they could obtain if they or their children enrolled in the Academy

n“Sis, you are awesome! If I don’t know you, I would have thought that you are an advertising company employee!” Rain exclaimed in surprise, her admiration for her sister growing

n“This is for our Academy. And if you have time please inform Rezen that we would want to purchase more spirit plants from him. We would use it a lot in this open house. And lastly, Rezen’s friend, that Neil, I decided to give him a scholarship to our Academy”

n“Leave it to me, sis! I will inform and receive the spirit plants from him personally! I will also talk to his friend!” Rain replied

nTo show their sincerity, Rain decided to run these errands personally. After all, the prosperity and fame of their academy can be said to be directly tied to Rezen or more like the spirit plants that he would supply to them

nEven if Rezen can’t supply spirit plants to them forever, they must at least seize the chance that he would still be their supplier to elevate the standing of their Academy

nOnce the Academy gained many students and they graduated with flying colors, it wouldn’t be late to start creating another selling point of their Academy that would lessen the impact if a time that Rezen stops the partnership with them arrives

nContrary to what Rezen thinks, kind people are not always stupid and naive! This was the case for these pair of sisters

nThey are just not the type of people that would force and threaten others or the ones that would always put themselves on the pedestal but it doesn’t mean that they are dumb
