nAs a girl, Luo Qianqian could feel the subtle hostility coming from another girl, but she had no idea why, this was the first time that they had met each other after all.

n“Miss Gu, thank you for your kindness, but I’m afraid I won’t be able to drink with you.” Luo Qianqian smiled at Gu Lina.

nGu Lina didn’t insist, “All right then, I won’t force Miss Luo. I do have a quick question, are you close to Deputy Master, Miss Luo?”

n

n

nAh~ it all made sense now.

nLuo Qianqian understood why this Gu Lina who she had never met before would harbour subtle hostility against her.

nIt was because Murong Yun!

nGeez, how come Murong Yun was able to attract girls with a mask on!

n

n

nWhere there was Murong Yun, where there were groupies!

nDeep down, Luo Qianqian knew this wasn’t Murong Yun’s fault. But she couldn’t help but get upset thinking about what she had gone through in the capital city, having a rash outbreak due to allergy, having a narrow escape from the assassins, but look at what Luo Qianqian had gone through, he had got a new groupie!

nLuo Qianqian didn’t mention her allergy to Murong Yun in order to not worry him, humph, but look at her, she was greeted by one of Murong Yun’s new groupies first thing after she had arrived Gu Village.

n“No, not really.” Luo Qianqian replied with indifference.

n

n

nWith that she was about to say goodbye to Gu Lina and left, but as luck would have it, she happened to hear a group of men talking about some hearsay.

n“Hey, have you heard about it? There’s a young intruder just now, our guards asked his intentions, but he refused to say anything, such a good-looking young boy though, such a shame that he is a mute.”

n“Of course I’ve heard about it, actually I happened to witness it, he wouldn’t answer any of the guards’ questions, he just insisted intruding our gate without answering any of our questions. I didn’t have the heart to watch our guards beating him up, so I left.”

n“What? Is he insane? Is he still there? Now I’m intrigued, I want to have a look.”

n‘A good-looking young boy? A mute?’

n‘Could it be Guang Yao?’

n

n

nLuo Qianqian and Feng Qing exchanged a look, “Feng Qing, follow me, I need to have a look too.”

nHow Luo Qianqian hoped it wasn’t Guang Yao, with that in mind, Luo Qianqian and Feng Qing arrived at the gate soon.

nA young boy wearing a blue coat holding his head and weeping bitterly came to Luo Qianqian’s sight, the guards kept beating him, but he just took the beatings in silence.

nHis only reaction was groveling into the village.

n“Are you still trying to getting into our village? What have you taken us for? You can just get in our village without an invitation?” the guards didn’t appreciate the young boy’s behavior, they kicked him even harder.

nThe longer Luo Qianqian watched the scene, the more convinced she was, ‘It must be Guang Yao.’

nThe crowd greeted Luo Qianqian respectfully because word had spread out in the whole village already the Deputy Master had brought a distinguished female guest with him, and they had recognized Luo Qianqian’s face mask, it was the same as the Deputy Master’s.

n“Get lost now!” the guards cursed the young boy and kicked him on his shin.

n

n

n“Ouch!” the boy cried out, he rolled over in pain, revealing his face, it was Guang Yao!

n“Stop!” Luo Qianqian ordered, she imposed an air of quiet authority.

nThis was the second time that she had witnessed Guang Yao being beaten up, and it was breaking her heart.

nThe guards had also recognized who this girl was, they stopped kicking Guang Yao in unison.

nLuo Qianqian and Feng Qing charged towards Guang Yao, Feng Qing supported Guang Yao from the ground.

n“Guang Yao…”, Luo Qianqian stroked Guang Yao’s face, there were a few more new bruises appearing on his face now.

nGuang Yao opened his eyes with some efforts, his eyes sparkled on seeing Luo Qianqian.

nHe put on a smile and said, “Sister, it’s so good to finally see you, don’t worry about me, I’m fine.”

nLuo Qianqian wanted to slap some sense into Guang Yao, she didn’t understand why Guang Yao would follow her all the way from the capital city, but she couldn’t actually do it.

n“Guang Yao, you silly boy, you are clearly not fine, come on now, I will check on you and get you some medicine.”

nFeng Qing carried Guang Yao in his arms and waited for Luo Qianqian’s further instructions.

nThe crowd dared not to make any noise on seeing that.

nLuo Qianqian cast a glimpse at the guards and said, “Good job, you guys.”

n

n

nThe guards trembled in fear, they slumped on the ground and begged for mercy, “We are complete fools, we didn’t know this young lord is your friend, please forgive us!”

nLuo Qianqian took a deep breath, she knew she couldn’t blame the guards, for starters, they were just doing their job, of course they would stop an intruder; secondly, Guang Yao was in the wrong too, how could he keep silent and ignore the guards’ questions. With that being said, she still couldn’t help but get mad at the guards for beating up Guang Yao.

nLuo Qianqian got so emotional that she clenched her fists, totally forgetting that her right wrist was still injured. There was blood oozing from the wound dressing now.

nGuang Yao kept staring at Luo Qianqian, “Are you mad at me, sister? I was… I was just worried about you, I saw you and a man together, so I… so I took the liberty of following you… …”

nLuo Qianqian shook her head, “Of course not, I will never get mad at you, good Guang Yao, I will take you for some treatment now.”

nHearing that, Guang Yao heaved a sigh of relief.

nHe would never come to Gu Village if not for Luo Qianqian, it was the Gu people who had brought him the endless pain… …

nLuo Qianqian took Feng Qing and Guang Yao back to her residence, she was about to check on Guang Yao’s wounds and apply ointment for him after they settled in, but Feng Qing suggested, “Allow me, Your Highness.”

nLuo Qianqian nodded, she thought that made more sense.

nGuang Yao understood it as well, he knew Luo Qianqian’s right wrist was still injured, of course he didn’t want to worsen Luo Qianqian’s wound.

n
