nAt the city gate.

nThe Crown Prince Mu Chaoyang arrived right after Murong Yun left for Luo Qianqian.

nMu Chaoyang was delighted seeing Murong Yun was not around.

n

n

nHowever, Su Liancheng and Lin Zimo were there. Master Lingtian wrote to Lin Zimo in advance so Lin Zimo joined the others to welcome Master Lingtian.

nLin Zimo and Su Liancheng went to get wasted that night, he told himself to bury all his thoughts in his heart.

n“Where is Murong Yun? Is he coming or not?” asked Mu Chaoyang domineeringly.

nSu Liancheng rolled his eyes, “Of course he is coming, unlike you, my Brother Eighth attends to numerous affairs everyday.”

n

n

n“Su Liancheng!” retorted Mu Chaoyang, he was utterly discomfited for being called out in public. He was the Crown Prince in Tianqi Country, but that was more like merely by title, he didn’t have any military power or battle achievement, he went furious for Su Liancheng pointed that out blatantly.

nSu Liancheng was not afraid of this Crown Prince, “Your Highness, you might as well focus on your task of welcoming Master Lingtian, don’t bother to irritate my Brother Eighth.”

nMu Chaoyang didn’t have a sharp tongue like Su Liancheng, he could only stomped on the ground and glared at him from afar.

nWith that he walked upstairs the city wall.

n

n

nHe watched the traffic on the main street, waiting for Master Lingtian.

nFinally a white carriage came to his sight, he turned around and said, “Get ready, Master Lingtian is arriving soon.”

nMurong Yun made the trip to Prime Minister Mansion intending to bring Luo Qianqian here to meet Master Lingtian, but he panicked after what happened in Luo Qianqian’s room.

nSeeing Murong Yun, Mu Chaoyang’s eyebrows knitted immediately, he was planning to tell him off in front of the emperor, but Murong Yun made it in the end to his dismay.

n“Greetings to you, Prince Eighth.” the soldiers and guards greeted Murong Yun with utmost respect, so much more ceremonious than when they greeted Mu Chaoyang.

nMurong Yun nodded slightly as a response.

n

n

nSoon the guards announced, “Here comes Master Lingtian.”

nHuge crowds stood on either side of the street, hoping to catch a glimpse of Master Lingtian.

nThe gate opened slowly, the white carriage made an entrance.

nMu Chaoyang and Murong Yun were standing at the other side of the gate, the page jumped out from the carriage.

n“Greetings, Crown Prince and Prince Eighth.” the page clasped his hands and bowed to them, but his eyes landed on Murong Yun instead of Mu Chaoyang.

nThe page was in awe of Murong Yun, no wonder people always compared Prince Eighth with Master Lingtian, even Master Lingtian said it was just a matter of time that Prince Eighth would reached a higher martial arts cultivation than him, this young man indeed stood out the most from the crowd.

nAs for the Crown Prince… …

nMaster Lingtian once said he was merely a person with good looks but empty-minded, the only reason he got the title as the Crown Prince was because his mother was the Empress.

n

n

nBut the page tried to remind Master Lingtian that Murong Yun was impotent.

nMaster Lingtian commented something too profound to be understood, “a dragon is always a dragon no matter how deep he lurked.”

nMu Chaoyang was desperate to meet Master Lingtian, he lifted his hand to the page and said, “You may rise, is Master Lingtian in the carriage?”

nThe page replied, “Yes, Your Highness, but there’s a patient in the carriage as well, the doctor said the curtain should always be closed.”

nMu Chaoyang had heard about this already, he nodded understandingly trying to impress Master Lingtian, “That’s all right. I’m here to welcome Master Lingtian on behalf of the Emperor.”

n“Thank His Majesty and Your Highness.” a soothing voice came from the carriage.

nMu Chaoyang smiled, “Master Lingtian, shall we go to the tavern where you will be residing? And don’t worry, I will look for the best doctors in the country to treat your love.”

nMaster Lingtian replied with difference, “Thank you for your kindness, but I’ve already found the doctor.”

nMu Chaoyang felt embarrassed by the answer, everyone was expect him to fly into a rage, however he tolerated that and acted normal.

nWithout waiting for Mu Chaoyang’s reply, Master Lingtian asked, “Is Prince Eighth here?”

nThere was no difference in the tone, it was filled with respect and excitement instead.

n“Master Lingtian, I am here.”

nMaster Lingtian smiled in the carriage, he nodded and said, “I’m afraid I’ll have to trouble you for looking for doctors.”

n

n

nSuch drastic comparison on the attitude.

nMu Chaoyang suppressed his wrath, he was merely being polite to this Master Lingtian to win him over on his side.

n‘Who knew this senseless stupid Master would be making overtures to Murong Yun on their first meeting up, that was a stupid move!’

n‘Even though Murong Yun was highly respected across the whole country due to his feats on the battlefield, but he was impotent! He was the one who was going to be on the throne.’

n‘But you have made your decision, don’t blame me for being merciless in the future encounters.’ thought Mu Chaoyang bitterly.

n“You are welcome, Master Lingtian. I will pay a visit soon after you settle down.”

n“See you soon.”

nWith that the carriage was led to a fancy tavern.

nThe Crown Prince bid them farewell as soon as they arrived the tavern.

nThe crowd only got to see a view of Master Lingtian’s back.

nMurong Xue had been waiting at the tavern for a long time already.

nMaster Lingtian’s servants had arrived at the tavern two days before to get everything done to accommodate Master Lingtian.

nEverything was in order now.

nMaster Lingtian’s page sat by a table at the gate of the tavern, “Attention, all the applicants, the line is here. And we only have one day which is today”

nSoon a crowd of people flooded to the table.

nSeeing that, the page shouted, “you would be rejected if you don’t stand in line!”

nThat set the crowd in order, they stood in two long lines on their initiatives.

n“Your Highness, how about I getting in line for you?” suggested Murong Xue’s maid, she found it strange that Murong Xue was so anxious to get in line just now, but now she was just looking around.

nMurong Xue muttered to herself, “Where is my sister-in-law?”

nShe wanted to wait for Luo Qianqian and get in line with her together.

nThe page swept across the crowd and shouted, “You must be under eighteen years old and good-looking. Master Lingtian doesn’t like ugly people.”

nLuo Qianqian just heard that and was in shock when she walked to this direction.

nSo the hearsay was right, there was an unwritten rule that Master Lingtian would only accept pretty disciples.

nWell, Master Lingtian was doing this for his wife, not exactly “wife”, they were not technically married yet, but Tong’er was his wife in his eyes.

nOnce there was a doctor said that seeing beautiful people would do good to Tong’er’s condition, therefore Master Lingtian insisted on that unwritten rule.

n
