nThe damage Arthur took from the impact wasn’t low, but the regeneration from his dragon body took effect, closing the wounds at a rate visible.
nHe looked up straight to the blue core inside that giant, and the small cracks were closing, just like his wounds.
n“Do I need to one shot it?”
nDespite the incredible healing Arthur had, it would still take him some time to fully recover. Now, for the giant, it was a different story.
nThose cracks on the core closed in a matter of seconds, and he was up and ready to strike again, sending another punch towards Arthur.
nArthur wanted to first recover his wounds, so instead of using his body to dodge, he waved his hand and cast a TP, appearing far from where the punch landed.
nHe looked at where he was standing, and saw that punch destroying the ground, creating a hole.
n“I can’t get hit by that or else I’ll be in serious trouble.”
nThe only question he had in mind was how to destroy that core using one attack. He pondered about which technique he should use, and used his old killing move, the Fire Claw..
nA few cracks appeared after Arthur hit using his bare hands, then maybe with the help of his Dragon Fire Claw, the core would perish? He hoped that was the case, so Arthur prepared his move.
nThe large black claws he had set in flames. He locked his gaze on that core and waited for the next attack.
nIt was a powerful enemy, but it was dumb and predictable. The next attack was a punch, just like all the others. When the attack was almost hitting Arthur, he teleported.
nIn an instant, he was in the chest area of the giant, and hit the core using his fire claws. A deafening sound, similar to those of a glass breaking.
nArthur was sent flying once again, but this time he wasn’t hurt. He pushed a few pieces of the buildings that were covering his body, patted the dust of his robes, and gazed at the now lifeless giant.
nThe moment the core broke, the giant died, falling back, destroying whatever was behind it with the impact.
nA moment of peace, relief, that lasted a short time. After that giant fell, others came to the fight, and the number was astonishing.
n“1, 2, 3, 4, 5, … 35???”
n35 giants, and at least 10 of these were of higher level, and appeared to have more intellect than the others.
nIt was a situation that wasn’t favorable for his side, and the only thing he could think of was to run.
nArthur used his flight skill at full speed, returning to the same entrance he used to get there. But from a distance, he saw a giant punching the tunnel, destroying everything and closing it entirely.
n“Bastard!”
nWhat other place could Arthur go? He did not know any of the layout of that place, and he only hoped to flee using that tunnel. A feeling of hopeless rose within him.
nNo matter how strong he got, how hard he worked, there was always someone stronger. He did not like that feeling.
nThe giants entered a circling formation, and Arthur was trapped in the middle of that section of the city. He tried to enter all the abandoned buildings, looking for something useful, yet there was nothing.
nDespair, fear, anxiety. Would his life end just like that? What about his wives? His friends? His students, and all those people that had faith in him? Would he let all of them behind?
nIt couldn’t end like that, no. Arthur wouldn’t allow it. After he left each house, a palm would go crushing down, destroying the building.
nOne second of difference could end his life. The first attack wouldn’t kill him, but slow him down, and that meant death either way.
nBang.
nA foot bigger than the tribe he lived came fast as a lightning, kicking him out from the streets. Arthur was sent flying, and the impact made all of his internal organs tremble, and his ribs, arm, and shoulder broke.
nThe giant that attack him was not the same he had defeated before, but one with a level that he couldn’t see.
nArthur was lying on a random street, and his gaze stopped at an entrance that looked like a sewer. He crawled his broken body towards it and opened it, using the only arm that wasn’t broken.
nThen, he went down using the ladder and closed the sewer right after. The pain he felt was immense, and the moment he closed the sewer, he loosened the grip of the ladder and fell.
n~~~~
n“What place is this, Myria?” A gorgeous woman that had black hair said.
nIf Arthur was there, he would recognize her as Lilia, the one he met back in Frostpeak. She had a different hair color now, and the reason for it was unknown.
n“This, Lilia, is a unique piece of land. A forest in which the elves live.”
n“Elves? I thought this was all fairy tales.”
n“Yes, there are fairies here too.”
n“…”
n“But why are we here?” Lilia said.
nBoth she and Myria were passionate about alchemy, and after Arthur was supposedly dead, they left Wisa and Jane behind, looking for their own path.
nThey traveled across the islands, and in one of these islands laid a portal, which they took, arriving in an unknown place.
nUnknown to Lilia, but Myria knew it was the legendary place where the elves lived.
nThe first thing that caught their attention the moment they used the portal was not the elves itself, but an immense body of a dead dragon.
nThey had never seen one before, as they were almost all dead, but it was there, right in front of their eyes.
nThe body of that dragon was intact, even after years had passed.
nMyria and Lilia tried to explore that place, but then an elf with blue hair showed up, and arrested them.
nThat elf was unknown to them, but Arthur would instantly call her by name. Matilda.
