Chapter 69 - Where Did They Come From?

nArthur had to keep his focus to dodge all the attacks, and now also dodge invisible attacks. That was simply wonderful.
nThe best thing he could do was to kill all the goblins he could see in the fastest way possible. It could not have lots of invisible goblins, at least Arthur hoped that was not the case.
nHe decided to stop his cheese tactic, and go all in against the goblins.
nA shadow that most could not even see. Arthur flew down, and descended to the ground in the middle of all goblins.
nThey were surprised to see Arthur change the way he fought all of a sudden.
n“Fuck these bastards.”
nArthur opened up his mouth, and used his dragon breath. A huge wave of fire engulfed most of the goblins, turning them into charcoals.
nNow that he was on the ground, it was easier to aim and not burn the entire forest. The dragon breath was perfect, and it killed most of the goblins.
nThe few remaining got to know Arthur’s claw that ripped them apart and turned them into meat pulp.
nAll the 100 goblins were dead, but Arthur knew some invisible ones were still around, trying to get him.
n“Maybe they left after seeing this killing? No, that is not the case. These bastards will try to kill me, so I can follow their friends into the afterlife.” Arthur thought.
nBut that was not the case. No attacks followed after, and it seemed that the forest was now devoid of goblin life.
nOnly the corpses remained. Jane and Wisa arrived, and saw that pile of goblins, all dead.
n“Arthur!” Jane said.
nWisa, on the other hand, was impressed to see Arthur killing that many goblins alone.
n“You kill all of them alone? That’s impressive.” Arthur had returned to his human form right after the fight, so they did not see him in his dragon form. Even if they did, it was not a problem as he had told them everything.
n“Not a big deal. They are only goblins, after all. The real question we should be asking here is, where did they come from?”
nArthur said, turning around to look at Jane and Wisa.
nThey built Odemore, and there was even a village near the shore with normal people, yet a huge army of goblins appeared out of a sudden.
nIt was not common, and something was happening on that island that they still did not know.
n“Maybe the turtle knows something about it?” Jane said.
n“Perhaps, but we can not talk with him as we please.” Wisa said.
nArthur had his hand on his chin, and was in deep thought. Trying to talk to that mysterious turtle beast was not worth the time.
nThey already said that it only appears when it wants, so why bother? The best course of action was to look for the source of those goblins.
n“You two should go back, and take care of the school for some time. Reassure the students that everything is okay, and that the president of the academy is dealing with it.”
n“You’ll investigate it yourself?”
n“I wish I could, but someone has to take care of the school and the students. Imagine what would happen if an army like that attacked the school when none of us are there?”
n“The students would all die… You’re right, we should go back, Jane.” Wisa called out Jane who was still in a dizzy after seeing all the corpses.
n“O-Okay!”
nThey left, leaving Arthur alone with his thoughts.
nThe situation did not make sense. With that many goblins around, they should have noticed it after spending months on that island.
n“Why did these monsters show up all of a sudden? Was it because of me? Or is something else fishy going on here?”
nArthur left the cemetery of goblins, and went deeper inside the island, looking for the root of the problems.
nIt was a difficult task to look for something he had no clue about. These goblins could be coming from anywhere.
nHe looked behind any tree, bush, rock, anything. There was no sign of suspicious activity on the island.
n“How?”
nAn idea popped up inside Arthur’s mind. Theodore was the only one roaming around the island these past two days. Maybe he knew something?
nArthur returned to the academy, to Wisa’s and Jane’s surprise.
nThey were in front of the academy, as both of their classes had been cancelled, and the students were told to stay inside their dorms for the time being.
n“Arthur? Did you find something?” Jane was the first to ask as soon as she saw Arthur.
n“I checked most of the island and found nothing. But I have an idea. Remember Theodore? The student that I sent to live in the forest until he learned his lesson?”
n“Ohh, I see where you’re going. I did not even remember that guy existed.”
n“Yeah. Was he in any of your classes?”
n“Hm, no. I think he’s with Harmony.” Wisa said.
n“All right. See you later.”
nArthur left and went looking for Theodore. Harmony’s classroom was in the first floor, so Arthur got there in no time, and knocked on the door.
nHarmony was surprised to see someone knocking, as it was unusual, so she answered with a bright smile.
n“Mr President. Can I help you?”
n“Yes, please. Can I borrow one of your students?”
nEveryone inside the classroom immediately gazed at Theodore.
n“Sure, which one?”
nArthur changed his gaze to Theodore, and said, “Theodore, come with me, please.”
nTheodore, who was still only wearing his underwear, got up from his chair and left the room.
n“Is he in trouble again?”
n“I bet. That guy never learns the lesson.”
n“Right. Who is crazy to go against Mr President? He’s a madman.” The students all whispered to each other, and Harmony had to intervene and tell them to forget about what happened.
nArthur dragged Theodore to his office, where the interrogation would start.
n“I’ll do anything to get the information from him.”
n
