Chapter 334 - Boss Wave
6th, and final wave has been unlocked! Continue with
It was good to hear that the 6th wave was also the last one.
The only issue now was to comprehend if the boss wave would be too dangerous.
"There will probably be an Overlord and more than 100 of the silverhorn coyotes that we fought earlier in the 5th wave.
" Shane stated, to which Princess Ilya nodded her head.
"With my universal ability Darkness domain, I'm the best choice at finishing off a crowd, but the amount of mana I have is definitely not enough to obliterate more than 100 superior peak-awakened beasts!
"
Due to the melee, he had momentarily forgotten about Princess Ilya's darkness domain. He was relieved to know that she was confident in defeating the beasts other than the likely appearance of the Overlord.
"I'll transfer you enough mana, but let's recuperate and regain our top state before continuing our fight with the 6th wave!
"
After that, they rested for almost half an hour before everyone's mana was fully replenished.
Shane stood behind Ilya, ready to fight with his hand stretched outwards as he began to slowly transfer mana from it towards her.
His body was filled to the brim within a few seconds, and when they accepted the 6th wave, Shane enlarged the stream of mana that was flowing towards him.
At the same time, he transferred every trace of mana he'd received from the Hidden Paradise towards Princess Ilya, who was patiently waiting for her entire being to be filled with mana.
Her liquefied body was enlarging proportionally with the amount of mana she received and she seemed to have no qualms about annexing such a huge quantity of mana.
It was only when a batch of 200 silverhorn coyotes with a higher quality and a four-meter tall coyote with two golden horns appeared, that her confidence wavered a little.
However, at that moment, the mana Shane transferred increased once again, consequently increasing the possible output of her darkness domain.
They didn't move and continued to transfer more mana until the silverhorn coyotes noticed them first.
Without any hesitation, the beasts rushed towards Ilya, who stood at the front, along with everyone else behind her.
When the closest silverhorn coyote was around 50 meters away from them, Princess Ilya began to utilize the darkness domain that drained her of all her mana within two seconds.
This sudden drainage was exhausting but she continued to utilize the skill that enveloped the surrounding vicinity into utter darkness.
Shane was rendered blind momentarily, and everything was under Princess Ilya's control.
Whether it was the walls, the ceiling, or the ground, darkness seeped through everything, obliterating even the faintest trace of light.
Just like that Shane, who couldn't see anything, heard painful yelps echoing through the surroundings that ceased only a few seconds later.
Princess Ilya had shot out darkness spears from four different directions that pierced through the oblivious silverhorn coyotes that knew nothing but killing their opponent as fast as possible.
When the darkness receded, Shane noticed that every single silverhon coyote had been taken care of, which caused him to nod in acknowledgment.
Domains were truly powerful, but at the same time, they drained a huge amount of mana.
With Ilya's mana capacity, she would be able to obliterate a large group with low-awakened stage beasts at most.
The astounding feat had been possible only because Ilya had received Shane's mana, but it was great nevertheless.
She had killed all the other beasts and the only opponent left was the coyote with two golden horns.
Shane had never heard of such a beast, but he was already eager to fight against an Overlord beast.
As such, he was ready to unleash every possible trick he had up his sleeve.
Just as he was about to rush towards the last beast that was left behind, Ilya muttered.
"I was able to injure its hind leg…
"
After that, she seemed to be too exhausted to do anything as her core slumped to the ground with only a faint layer of her liquefied mass around.
Shane nodded his head before he sized up the Overlord coyote once again.
There was a small injury visible on its leg, and by exerting his mana gathering technique, he was able to perceive that the injury had traces of a corrosive nature.
This was great, and instead of giving his all, Shane chose a different tactic!
Now, he changed his strategy to wear out the coyote with golden horns.
Defeating it just like that was definitely possible, but he didn't want to end up like Ilya; who was too exhausted to even move.
Thus, Shane exerted the Mana membrane(Lesser) skill along with both other techniques he had and his thirst for the coyote's blood intensified.
Bloodlust-killing-intent radiated from his body, tightly enveloping him, as the bow of destruction, Alaran and a quiver filled with arrows manifested in his hands.
The golden-horned coyote howled in rage before it rushed towards Shane.
It had regained its senses from the aftermath of the Darkness domain within a second, only to see several dozen tightly compressed darkness spears shooting towards it.
Though their combined strength hadn't been enough to kill the coyote whose physical strength was extraordinary, it disturbed the coyote, forcing it to evade the darkness spears.
Suddenly a spatial portal manifested at the exact position the golden-horned coyote had jumped to, transporting it to a spot that was only five meters away from Shane, and Umbra.
However, its position was mid-air, preventing the golden horned coyote that did not have any ability to do anything but release its mana.
Just at that moment, Shane, who had pulled back the bowstring, released the arrow nocked at it, sending it flying towards the coyote.
The Tier-2 (Rare) arrow that was enhanced by the Double impact effect of his bow, shot straight towards the revealed abdomen of the golden horned coyote.
Twisting its body by force, the coyote turned around, so as to get hit on the back instead of the abdomen, while sustaining a shallow injury.
However, the coyote hadn't expected that a second impact would follow suit the moment the arrow hit it.
This caused its bones to shake, only to sense huge streams of mana gathering at two different locations.
With the next arrow nocked on the bowstring, Shane had filled both his bow and the arrow with mana to the brim.
They were overflowing with mana, while Umbra formed a five-meter-long darkness needle which it shot towards the coyote's head that was turned towards them.
Shane took a deep breath before he released his arrow that targeted the same position as Umbra's darkness spear was aimed at.
The golden-horned coyote, who sensed imminent death approaching it from two different directions, could only release every single trace of mana it had.
This was enough to create a firm shield of mana on its back, which was shattered by Umbra's darkness needle that sustained a drastic decrease in its might after colliding with the shield.
Nevertheless, Shane's arrow was still fully empowered and overflowing with mana, increasing its lethality.
With a terrific velocity, the arrow pierced through the golden-horned coyote, as the sounds of crunching bones resounded through the cave.
"I might have overestimated you…
" Shane only mumbled, without showing any signs of being disappointed that the golden horned coyote had not been an Overlord, but a beast with an extremely high mana purity.
It hadn't died yet, but the last arrow had broken its spine, pushing it towards death that was slowly creeping towards it as the coyote took its last breaths.
The arrow was still firmly lodged in its back, piercing into the coyote's flesh as Shane emerged next to the almost dead beast.
He manifested holding the Sword of Blood, Mydra in his hand, and tightly enveloped it with a thick layer of mana and his bloodlust-killing-intent.
Thrusting towards the golden-horned coyote's abdomen, he ended its miserable life.
Only a moment later, he received a notification that caused a faint smirk to emerge on his face as he breathed out.
Congratulations,
