Chapter 432: Pentagram

Only a few hours passed before Shane finally reached the center of the square he had drawn on the map.

The closer he had come to the center, the weirder he felt.

Something about the place was off, and the moment Shane emerged from the last thicket that separated him from the open field, he knew what had made him feel so uncomfortable.

The open field was the center of the four merged dimensions, or at least that was what Shane assumed.

Taking a look around, he found nothing special except a huge pentagram that absorbed enormous streams of mana.

However, that was not everything that he found to be interesting about the pentagram in front of him.

Mana streamed towards it, only to be thrown into something that felt like a catalyst, separating the harmful impurities from the surrounding mana before being drawn into the pentagram.

Despite separating the impurities from mana, the surroundings looked clean and the air smelled fresh, only for Shane to feel an ominous sensation approaching him with every step he took closer to the pentagram.

There were a total of four sensations that were drawn towards the pentagram, one from each direction.

Because one of these sensations was the radiating eerie feeling he had gotten around the gigantic stone, Shane assumed that these sensations were, in fact, something similar to an aura that radiated from the gigantic stone, the enormous tree, the elevation, and the new environment.

All of these were huge environmental differences to the Soul-Onyx-Jungle dimensions, or at least, that was what Shane could only assume for now.

In the end, there should also be other factors that created auras in objects without any sentience, but Shane was just not sure what exactly they could be right now.

Despite all the hurdles, he had found a place to search for a clue to find a way into the Hidden valley, and the 10 deamon killer fruits he had to obtain!

While Shane used his senses to acquire every little piece of information he could from the pentagram and the surroundings, Viridy was fully focused on its affinities and the nature it tried to perceive down to the finest detail.

There were several places the hidden valley could be, with one of the easiest being that there was just a simple illusion or concealment spell over a certain area hiding the valley from the naked eye.

Shane assumed this to not be the case because the required amount of mana to create such a large-scale illusion was simply too big.

Meanwhile, the only place where lots of mana gathered was none other than the pentagram itself, right in front of him.

He had never seen a rune that looked like a huge pentagram, and it might as well be something else Shane had to comprehend yet.

As such, he continued to approach it, with the thought that it was possible for him to acquire more information.

When he did not sense any dangers, he slowly approached the pentagram.

It was only necessary for him to overcome the pressure originating from the pentagram and surroundings, including the highly purified mana, but that was not a problem for Shane.

He had a perfect foundation and a unique occupation after all!

In the end, there shouldn’t be anything in the basic primordial dimensions that could cause him to be oppressed, if one were to exclude places with beasts like the three headed lion that had been a little bit problematic.

If something like that existed, Shane would seriously be astonished because it had to be at par with the last ability Megane had activated when they had fought together.

Recalling the final of the Primordial tournament, Shane wondered how Megane was doing.

It was not like he was interested or in love with her, but instead, Shane felt pity towards her.

While he had already felt suppressed and controlled in his childhood, he couldn’t help but feel as if it was child’s play in comparison to what Megane had to undergo every waking moment of her life.

Her entire behavior and attitude had felt like that of a marionette during the entire tournament, and there had only been a single instance, in which her true expression seemed to have surfaced.

But that expression had vanished faster than it had appeared at that time.

While Shane was slowly understanding why his father and the rest of his family had tried to teach him all kinds of things, he could also now understand why they behaved in certain ways.

None of the uniters had kids and he was the first child the inexperienced uniters had to take care of.

As such, their teachings had been focused on what was important for him to survive the dangers within the Primordial dimensions.

By this, Shane didn’t mean their obvious wrong teachings and the usage of violence that could have been left out as well as his restrictions on making friends, let alone freedom.

Nevertheless, Megane appeared to be in an even worse condition, and according to his understanding, she was one of the rare existences- a Halfling.

For a halfling to be born, certain rare circumstances had to have occurred, and it could be said to be a miracle for Megan to be even alive.

However, on the other hand, Shane was not sure whether being controlled by two insane races or being dead was better.

Owing to that, he didn’t even feel anger towards her, but when he thought about the Primordial tournament once in a while, he could only feel pity towards Megane.

He wondered if she had already liquefied her mana, and even more importantly whether she had met the creator as a reward for becoming the first being to establish a perfect foundation!

It was likely, but Shane recalled the first and last words he had heard within the golden-silverish hue because if he had heard it right they said that he could meet him, the creator.

Even though Shane was not sure what he wanted to ask first, there were just too many things that didn’t make any sense to him, let alone the system’s help when he was awakening his bloodline.

Shaking his head, he tried to set these things aside for now and think about the pentagram, and what exactly it could be used for.

At that moment, both Cosmo and Umbra emerged from the soul world too.

Before, there was not enough space for them because of the densely grown forest, but that had changed now.

Shane hoped that they could see more with a total of four pairs of eyes looking around, instead of doing the same without his two oldest soulbonds.

Cosmo’s high mana sensitivity was poles apart from Umbra and Viridy’s which allowed him to sense almost everything in the surrounding, including the finest details about the pentagram and the catalyst process that happened in the center.

Meanwhile, Umbra’s eyesight was exceptional and if necessary the 130-meter long snake wouldn’t hesitate to destroy something as long as it helped them.

In the end, Shane and Umbra were of the least use in the current situation because their mana perception was not as great as that of Viridy, let alone Cosmo.

Despite that they gave their best to dig out the necessary clues to find the Hidden Paradise.

Unfortunately, it was fruitless and a few hours passed without any tangible progress.

Only then did Cosmo share the things he had noticed with Shane while Viridy did the same.

Digesting the information provided by both Cosmo and Viridy, he was able to combine many pieces of information.

However, in the end, everything confused him more than it was helpful.

“How the hell does that make sense?”
