nSam sat up once again and wiped the blood off of his mouth.

nHe sat there in meditation, but his body is still deteriorating. As Sandhya was thinking, one of the clan leaders couldn't hold it in and made a move.

nSandhya felt the chill from the attack and immediately let Sam's hand go and instinctually stepped away from there. She felt regretful the next moment.

nAs soon as she let go of Sam's hand, Sam's body changed. The purple shade lost and he is back to his full health. He took out reaper sword and blocked the attack while still sitting there.

nPriestess who saw the whole scene, smiled wryly.

nShe understood what Sam did from the start. She knew he is immune to almost all poisons in the world. This planet might be of a decently high level, but the poisons here could jack ** to him. The clan leaders are in for something new altogether.

nSam looked at Sandhya who stood there frozen as Sam stood up calmly.

n

"See Sandhya, you asked me what would the consequences be. This just a glimpse into it. The way I act, I attract a lot of enemies who want to kill me and I have riches of all kinds. Land, spirit stones, blueprints, techniques. Anything you could think of, I have all kinds and these riches even turn allies into enemies most of the times.

nAnd many people are willing to offer anything to kill me and that 'anything' can turn anyone into my enemy in an instant.

nFor the past few days, I have worked my ass off, used all kinds of tricks and treasures to save the lives of these ten clans. Just yesterday, they were hailing me for getting past these disasters, but by the crack of dawn, there are already people trying to kill me.

nRight in front of you, there are seven clan leaders holding their weapons at me.

nThat is my situation almost every single day.

nAs soon as I show weakness, there are countless people who are ready to backstab me, kill me and destroy me. I might be on verge of death on any second.

nAnd even those times, my people should never let go of my hand. Even when the blade of the enemy broke the outermost layer of my skin and the blood already started dripping, my people should still believe in me or they should die fighting along with me.

nYou have known these clan leaders all your life.

nThey are even afraid of you, but you are unable to deal with them, to save me. You have let go as soon as they made their move.

nIt is easy to admire and follow me, when I am at my absolute best. It easy to say that you are loyal to someone, when both of you are sitting in a room, enjoying special food and luxury wine.

nI want someone who is loyal to me even when I in the maws of death. And that is the reason you cannot follow me. I don't need admiration from a person like you. I won't even have you as a foot soldier in my troops. Much less a prospective life partner.

nI hope you understand.

"

nSam stood straight like a flag pole and all the clan leaders that came to attack him took a step back.

nHe looked at them with a condenscending smirk and said.

n

"I feel insulted more than threatened by your attack.

nHow dare you even think that you can kill me with some mere poison. I challenge gods on a daily basis and you mere mortals thought you could kill me with some poison that you could find on your backwater planet?

nAnd you dare to pine for my head with such lousy judgement?

nIf not for the task, I would have killed you just for thinking that.

nUnderestimating is one thing, but this is way below the bar.

nAs Sam spoke, he disappeared with spatial energy and left the estate.

nHe took off on harbinger and moved towards the Mountain Temple.

nPriestess appeared beside her daughter and looked at the clan leaders.

n

"You guys should have just stuck with the plans for celebrations. In a way, you just tried to make your original fate into reality. After all, you are tempted by an Olympian god and tried to kill this guy. You failed and made your intentions known.

nIf he retaliates, you will be faced with a disaster that might be more dangerous than the ones you faced until now. After all, this guy knows every nook and cranny of your cities. Imagine how much damage he can do?

nJust pray that he will hold back.

"

nShe took off with her daughter.

nAfter two hours.

nSam is sitting on a mountain rock as he enjoyed the sun rise. He is a bit tired of all this **. He was not really interested in this game anymore, but he cannot let go of it now. He is very close to the end. He can already vaguely sense it.

nThe time he comes face to face with gods, is very very close. He cannot give up now.

nBut in the past month, he has to do many things out of his character for this game.

nHe had to suppress himself from taking revenge on someone who spoiled his plans. He had to break his own word and help these assholes after he said that he wouldn't. This is not how he is used to doing things.

nBut he had to do it.

nThis is making him very frustrated to say the least.

nAs he sat there calmly, Priestess appeared.

n

"Your task runs for another ten days including today. Only after these ten days, would you be able to complete the task. If people die in this period of them, they will be counted in your death toll.

"

n

"I guessed as much.

"

nSam said as he sighed.

n

"I am sorry about Sandhya.

"

n

"Never mind. She is way too young to not experience these things and way too old for you to come and apologize in her stead. I already made myself clear. I am sure she wouldn't come and look for me.

"

n

"I must say, you were too harsh on her though. You could have cushioned the blow a little bit.

"

n

"Somethings are better done decisively.

"

n

"Anyway, I would like to ask you a favor. Can you help my daughter get out of this planet? I don't want her to be alone. I am not asking you to accompany her, but I am sure you have ways.

"

n

"I have an organization called Dusk. I can send her there if you want me to.

"

n

"That would work. As long as she has some freedom to explore, but a branch to fall back on, it is fine.

"

n

"Sure, I will tell the staff to employ her in some free position. She would have some responsibilities, but they would be mostly small and feeble. She could get used to the world and leave whenever she wants.

"

n

"Thank you. I will let her know.

"

n

"I will arrange the transport.

"

n

"Thanks again.

nWhat are you going to do for the next ten days?

"

n

"Prepare for payback. Before that, I need to talk to Karthikeya, can you tell me if you can contact him?

"

n

"Right now, there is some interference. I will let you know as soon as it is cleared.

"

nAfter that, the priestess left on her own way, meanwhile Sam sat there for a while and then jumped off the mountain. He took off on harbinger and travelled a few miles. He is very close to one of the clans that attacked him a couple of hours ago.

nHe didn't go to the city to attack them, instead he waved his hand a large tower like structure appeared. It is one of the towers that is used for attacking. It was actually an equipment made by Sivan, but it was only half finished and Sam decided to modify it for Divine Plane cultivators.

nHe installed that tower there.

nThe tower has red glow and patters and it looked like a giant pillar rather than tower. There are no entry points, no openings nothing, it is indeed more of a pillar than a tower.

nAfter that, he started checking the surroundings a bit and set up a formation. It took him an hour or so to finish it off.

nThen he moved to a different location within the vicinity, a mile away and placed another tower there along with the formation. Of course, some people noticed him, but they don't know full story of what happened. So, they just felt like Sam is working on something again for the city.

nStill the news spread, albeit a bit slowly and it soon reached the clan leaders who are still in the valley.

nThey are already in a tense situation. When they heard that Sam is setting up something, their hearts slipped into their pants. They immediately made their way back to their own cities.
