Chapter 183 - Exchange Transfusion
n
n
nLong had a good sleep and it was already late at night when he woke up.
n
nHe looked around and found Shi had not come back.
nIt seemed that the list Ouyang Chuan provided was a hot potato.
n
n
nAfter sleeping for a long time, Long felt a little hungry, so he said, “Ying Feng.”
nSoon, Ying Feng appeared in the room. “Master.”
nLong yawned lazily. “Hasn’t Qingzhou come back?”
n“No, the empress hasn’t come back.”
n
n
nLong pursed his lips. “Well, go get some food for me.”
nYing Feng went to arrange it at once.
nSoon afterwards, the candles in the room were lit. After putting on his clothes, Long got out of the bed and sat down at the table.
nLater, Ying Feng came in with dinner.
n
n
nLong ate alone in silence. Without Shi, Long felt a little bored.
nAt this time, Liu Suifeng came.
nHe knocked at the door. “You’re still up so late at night.”
nLong turned his head and smiled at him. “You haven’t gone to bed, either.”
nLiu said, “May I come in?”
n“Of course.” Long smiled.
n
n
nAfter Liu came in, Long looked at him and smiled. “You looked so pitiful during the day. But now you look like a decent man again.”
nLiu didn’t want to hear that, so he rolled his eyes. “It was all because of you.”
nLong shrugged. “How can you say that? You asked for it.”
nAfter a short silence, Liu said, “Will you save Shi Qingzhou by any means?”
nLong knew Liu meant to ask whether he would save Shi with Ouyang’s life.
nLong didn’t answer the question at once. He just stared at Liu.
nThe two men looked at each other for a while. Then, Long sighed.
n“I must save Qingzhou, but I don’t want Ouyang Chuan to die… In fact, I know a method. You can give it a try if you really don’t have another way.”
n
n
n“Oh? What is it?” Liu was surprised.
n“Let me ask you, to save Qingzhou, you need all the blood in Ouyang Chuan’s body, right?” Long said.
n“Yes.” Liu nodded sadly.
nLong pursed his lips. “Do you need to draw all the blood out of his body at once?”
nLiu was stunned. After a long time, he said slowly, “I don’t think so.”
n“Is there any way to transfuse blood?”
nThose words stunned Liu again. “Transfuse blood? You mean… to put some new blood in Ouyang Chuan’s body?”
n“Right.” Long nodded. “That’s what I mean.”
nLiu’s expression changed. Then, he said, “In fact, my master proposed this idea a long time ago and also treated a person, but in the end, he failed.”
nHearing this, Long hurriedly asked, “He failed? That patient died?”
n“Yes, his blood was changed, but his body rejected the new blood and he died.”
nLong felt relieved when he heard the words. “So you know how to transfuse blood, but you can’t guarantee the patient’s body will accept it, right?”
nLiu nodded. “That’s right.”
n
n
nLong said firmly, “Listen to me. If I can ensure that Ouyang Chuan’s body won’t reject the new blood, do you have a way to save him?”
n“Are you sure about that?” Liu looked at Long in astonishment. “Even my master couldn’t do that. How can you be so confident?”
nLong smiled. “It’s a secret. You just need to believe me.”
nLiu frowned.
nLong said softly, “I know that you care about his life and I also care about Shi’s. It would be good if it’s a win-win situation. Don’t you think so?”
nLiu pressed his lips together. Later, he said, “You must make sure it’s a win-win situation.”
nLong smiled. “Don’t worry. I can do what I say. Ouyang Chuan’s life is precious. So is any person’s life. So I will find a prisoner on death row.”
nLiu was stunned. Then, he said slowly, “That’s good.”
n“Come with me to find a man tomorrow,” Long said confidently.
nLiu looked at Long and said softly, “If you can be sure that Ouyang Chuan’s body won’t reject the new blood, I promise to save both of them.”
n“Good. I trust you.” Long smiled.
nAfter Liu left, Long finished his meal and went to rest.
nThis night, Shi did not come back.
nLater, Long fell asleep again.
nWhen Long woke up, it was already late morning of the next day.
nLong got up. When he was going out, he saw Shi coming towards him.
nLong hurried to meet him. “Qingzhou, you are back.”
n“Yes.” Shi nodded. “Liu Suifeng said that there’s way to save me. We will stay here for two more days.”
n“That’s good.” Long smilingly held Shi’s hand and walked inside. “When did you come back?”
n“Not long ago,” Shi said.
nLong frowned. “You must be exhausted.”
nShi shook his head. “No.”
n“Have breakfast first, and then have a rest,” Long said firmly.
nShi smiled. “Okay.”
nHe wouldn’t say no to Long’s kindness.
nThere was a way to get rid of the poisonous insect, so Long felt a little relieved.
nAt least they could give it a try. Long was satisfied that it wasn’t totally hopeless.
nIn his previous life, Long was in poor health and had to spend every day in the hospital, so he had his own way to recognize one’s blood type without a machine.
nBecause his heart and blood didn’t work well, he was given blood transfusions for a lot of times.
nWhen he was in hospital, he met a strange guy.
nThat guy also studied blood type and they talked about that many times.
nTherefore, Long was sure that he could find the same type of blood without using scientific instruments.
nAfter breakfast, Shi went to rest, while Long and Liu went out.
nWith the medallion which symbolized the imperial court, it was easy for them to take away a few prisoners on death row.
nAfter taking them back, Long found an empty room and prepared something. Then, he locked himself and all the prisoners in it.
nOutside the room, Ouyang took a look at his arm.
nLong drew some blood from his arm just now.
nLiu was right beside Ouyang and he knew what Ouyang was thinking, so he said, “Don’t worry. Since Long Xiaoyuan said that he was confident, we can trust him.”
nOuyang scoffed. “Oh? You trust him so much?”
nLiu smiled. “He said it, so I trust him. Let’s just wait and see.”
nOuyang sneered and stopped speaking.
nAn hour later, Shi also appeared at the door. “How long has he been staying in there?”
nLiu said, “More than two hours.”
nShi pursed his lips. “He’s not powerful. Is it possible that the prisoners will attack him?”
n“Don’t worry. They’ve been given the strongest drug. It will last six hours. Those people won’t wake up even if they’re dissected,” Liu said firmly.
nShi stopped asking anything.
nShi and Liu waited anxiously outside the room. After about two hours, Long finally came out.
nHe was smiling when he opened the door, though he looked pale.
nShi immediately went over. “Are you okay?”
nLong waved weakly. “Don’t worry. I’m fine.”
nBut as soon as he finished that, he fainted.
n“Long Xiaoyuan!” Shi cried and hurried to hold Long into his arms.
nLong was pale as a ghost. It could be seen that he was exhausted.
nShi hurriedly carried him back to the room to have a rest.
nLiu and Ouyang didn’t follow Shi. Instead, they entered the room.
nThere was a faint smell of blood in the room, but they didn’t see anything bloody.
nBoth of them thought that all the prisoners would have died, but those men were still alive and they didn’t seem to have lost a lot of blood.
nOuyang and Liu looked at each other in surprise. “They didn’t die.”
n“Yeah, these people are still alive…”
nThey checked carefully and found that Long left a mark on the chest of one of the prisoners.
n“Is this the man we need?” Ouyang asked.
nLiu carefully examined that man and drew some of his blood. “Let me have a check.”
nOuyang was not better than Liu in medicine, so he didn’t say anything.
nShi didn’t pay much attention to Ouyang and the others. Looking at Long who was lying in the bed, Shi was very worried.
nShi knew how to feel one’s pulse. He could see that Long was just sleeping and there was nothing serious.
nShi puckered his lips. Looking at his lover, Shi slowly reached out his hand and stroked Long’s face affectionately…
n
