nWhen she left the villa, she had casually taken her cell phone. She did not know how long she would be gone for, nor did she know if she would be able to leave the Mo family’s villa successfully. Hence, she had held her cell phone, thinking that her parents would surely call her to ask about her return to the Lu family’s main household. There was no need for her to worry about these people who were not important to her.

nShe walked to the side and lowered her voice. “Dad.”

n“Manman, are you guys back? Your grandpa called to rush you.”

n“Dad.” Lu Manman took a deep breath.

nShe knew that she could not leave at this point. If she left just like that, everyone would think that she was the one who had killed Daisy. Moreover, she would be accused of killing Daisy, hence causing Mo Li to be hospitalized. Now, if she left so casually… She really could not imagine what the rumors would portray her as.

n“Dad, I’m not going back today.”

n“What?” Lu Zishan was agitated.

n“I’ve met with some trouble at the Mo family’s home, and I can only resolve it today. I can’t go back. Tell Grandpa that I’ll be coming to apologize tomorrow morning,” Lu Manman said very seriously.

nLu Zishan was silent for half a second before asking, “What happened?”

n“Mo Yuanxiu’s sister’s illness acted up, and we can’t leave. It’s nothing serious. Please take my place at Grandpa’s place today.”

nLu Zishan sighed. “That’s the only way.”

n“Thank you, Dad.” Lu Manman did not want to harp on it, nor did she want to explain or comfort him, even if she could tell that he was disappointed.

n“Mm-hm,” Lu Zishan answered.

n“Bye.”

nLu Manman hung up and turned around.

nMo Yuanxiu was standing beside her, looking down at her.

nShe put down her cell phone and looked at him. “I actually don’t care what the people in your family think of me, but I hate being plotted against. Ever since I went through a nightmare that I don’t want to remember, I can’t tolerate it anymore. I don’t care if you believe me or not, I’m going back to the Mo family’s villa to investigate the reason.”

nHe pursed his lips as he looked at her.

n“I’m leaving first. Stay here and accompany Mo Li,” she said as she got ready to leave.

nAt this point, her departure would not affect anyone at all. Mo Yuanxiu’s parents probably did not know how to get along with her at this point. For something like this to happen to their daughter-in-law on the first day, probably no other family had such a strange thing happen.

nShe felt that her parents’ impression of her was already at rock bottom, so she did not want to show warm feelings only to be met with cold rebuke.

n“Lu Manman,” Mo Yuanxiu suddenly called out.

nLu Manman stopped in her tracks.

n“There are surveillance cameras at home.”

nStunned, she turned to look at him. Was he reminding her of something?!

nMo Yuanxiu had already turned around to leave.

nHe left and walked toward Mo Li’s ICU to accompany his father.

nHis father turned to look at him but did not scold him loudly. He just glanced at him and sighed helplessly.

nWithout hesitation, she strode out of the hospital.

nShe hailed a cab at the entrance of the hospital and rushed to the entrance of the Mo family’s villa.

nShe paid and got off.

nShe quickly entered the house.

nSuch a shocking thing had happened today, and there was no one in the house. All the servants were gathered together, and she stopped at the entrance of the living room. She heard some rustling sounds from inside as well as a whisper. “Miss’s illness is acting up, and Old Master and Madam are dying of anxiety. I wonder how the new young madam could be so merciless. Daisy was so obedient, and even if she wasn’t intimate with us, we wouldn’t be able to do this to her.”
