nIn the Mo family’s villa.
nLu Manman did not leave.
nShe had promised to evade, not to leave.
nHence, she returned to her room and closed the door.
nShe sat on the balcony that was connected to the Mo family’s luxurious garden. There was a comfortable reclining chair on the balcony, and she lay down on it. The garden was huge, with green grass growing everywhere. It was fully equipped and was a comfortable place to be at.
nHer eyes flickered as she looked at the flowing water, and she pursed her lips.
nTwenty minutes later, the Mo family returned to the villa.
nIt was very quiet in the villa. All the servants waited respectfully and then looked at Mo Li’s pale face.
nMo Li had been snuggled into Mo Yuanxiu’s arms since they got back from the hospital. He was the one who carried her upstairs and placed her gently on the bed.
nMo Li seemed unwilling to leave his arms and tightened her grip on the corner of his shirt.
nHe pursed his lips. “Xiao Li, you need to rest now.”
n“Brother, can you accompany me for a while?” Mo Li asked, her dark eyes sparkling with anticipation.
nBefore Mo Yuanxiu could say anything, Jiang Yuyan hurriedly said, “Ah Xiu, why don’t you accompany her? Otherwise, her thoughts might run wild.”
n“Okay.” Mo Yuanxiu nodded.
nMo Li smiled through her tears.
nAs she smiled, she seemed to recall something painful, and her eyes turned red as if she was about to cry at any moment.
n“Don’t cry. Be a good girl.” He comforted her gently.
nMo Li held back her tears as she looked at him, pure and clear.
nHe sat beside her.
nWhen Mo Kun and Jiang Yuyan saw how quiet Mo Li was, their emotions went out of control. They turned to look at Mo Yuanxiu, who was accompanying her, and heaved a sigh of relief. Jiang Yuyan said, “Xiao Li, rest more. Dad and Mom are leaving first. Call me if you need anything, alright?”
n“Mm-hm.” Mo Li nodded.
nBecause of Mo Li, they had been tormented since seven in the morning. Now, they returned to their room after a thrilling morning to take a good rest.
nThe two of them left Mo Li’s room, but she continued to hold on to Mo Yuanxiu’s hand.
n“Sleep for a while,” he said.
n“I can’t sleep. I feel like I’ve been sleeping the whole day. But I didn’t want Dad and Mom to worry, so I had to lie quietly in bed,” Mo Li said with a smile, feeling much better.
nHe nodded. “Then, I’ll accompany you for a while.”
n“Thank you, Brother.”
n“Xiao Li.” Mo Yuanxiu looked at her pure face, and his voice deepened. “You’re twenty years old this year, right?”
n“That’s right.”
n“You’re not young anymore,” he said.
n“Mm-hm.” Mo Li nodded obediently.
n“Don’t be too willful. You should be more sensible,” he said calmly.
n“Does Brother think that I’m insensible?” Mo Li’s eyes went red, and her nose went a little red. “I don’t want to make Dad and Mom worry. If Daisy hadn’t died all of a sudden, I wouldn’t have had a relapse. I’ve already tried very hard to maintain a happy mood, and I’ve been working very hard to take care of my health. If I had a choice, I’d rather be a normal person.”
nHe looked at her rising emotions, and his thin lips tightened. “Alright, I understand.”
n“Brother, will you despise me for being a burden to this family?” Mo Li asked him deeply.
n“No,” he said directly.
nMo Li smiled through her tears and tightened her grip on his hand as if she was clutching at a life-saving straw.
n
