nLu Qinzheng looked at her grandfather, Lu Qinzheng, directly.

nHe was 75. His hair was already white, and part of his head was bald, revealing a forehead that shone slightly. A pair of reading glasses rested on his nose bridge, and he had left a long white beard out. He did not seem approachable at all.

nBesides Lu Qinzheng, Lu Zichuan’s family including Lan Xiaojun, Lu Xuanran, and Lu Zichuan’s daughter Lu Yanran were around as well.

nGiven their expressions, they were out to make a fool of them.

nLu Manman turned around.

nHe Xiuwen smiled kindly, as if she was prepared to submit to them to maintain peace.

n“Grandpa, my mom heard that I was coming over today. She felt that she hasn’t visited you in a while, and so decided to come along to have a look at you,” Lu Manman spoke right away.

nLu Manman’s words were not overboard at all.

nBut Lu Qinzheng was offended. “See me? Or see if I’m dead yet?!”

nLu Manman’s eyes deepened.

nLu Qinzheng had never been kind to her family. He was always making things difficult for them, and nothing had changed since they last met him. In fact, he was getting increasingly mean towards them over time. In order to prevent conflict, their family stayed out of his sight as much as possible. But of course, this old man Lu Qinzheng would take to the media to talk about how her father was unfilial.

n“Grandpa, you’re in such good health, how could you say something this pessimistic. You’re ruining your own longevity fortune.” Lu Manman smiled and appeared innocent.

nLu Manman’s words appeared to be kind, but it was evident that she was actually cursing him.

nLu Qinzheng’s expression changed. He was so angry his nostrils flared, and his beard was shaking. His eyes widened, but he couldn’t seem to find the words against her, since he had been the one to mention his death first.

n“Lu Manman, how could you curse your grandfather like this?! You’re going overboard!! Lu Zichuan quickly stood up, and told Lu Manman off on his father’s behalf.

nThis was exactly how he used to bully her.

nBut now…

nLu Manman looked extremely aggrieved. “Second Uncle, is it wrong of me to tell Grandpa not to talk bad about his own health? What does Second Uncle think Grandpa should do, then? Is Second Uncle saying that he wants Grandpa to pass away sooner?”

nLu Zichuan was fuming. “Lu Manman, what nonsense are you spouting—”

n“Isn’t that what is overboard,” Lu Manman interrupted Lu Zichuan, and meekly concluded, “One would be struck by lightning for thinking that…”

n“Lu Manman!!” Lu Zichuan growled.

n“Enough!” Lu Qinzheng called out.

nLu Manman was smiling in her heart.

nThe whole living hall went quiet.

nLu Qinzheng looked at his granddaughter.

nWhen did this damned girl become so good with her words! If this went on, everyone at home was going to be cursed by her.

nLu Qinzheng was rather old anyway, and he saw right through a lot of people and things.

nHe changed the topic and returned to the main point. “Lu Manman, I called you here today to ask about the charity ball last night.”

n“Alright. Please speak, Grandpa.” Lu Manman instantly reverted to a nice and obedient self.

n“You accepted Mo Yuanxiu’s art piece last night?!”

n“That’s right.” Lu Manman smiled innocently.

n“How could you accept it! Didn’t you know that you’d embarrass the Wen Family that way? You’re so superficial and greedy!” Lu Qinzheng spat out ruthlessly without leaving any face for his granddaughter. “Old Master Wen called me this morning to ask about it, and I did not even have the cheek to explain things to him. You’ve really embarrassed the Lu Family thoroughly!”

n
