nAt night, his low voice sounded from inside the car.
nLu Manman looked at Mo Yuanxiu in a daze, staring into his dark green eyes under the dim yellow light.
nWas she really drunk?
nAt such a close distance, the man in front of her was completely different from the Mo Yuanxiu in her mind.
n“Not talking?” Mo Yuanxiu tightened his arm around her waist, making them lean even closer together. Their lips brushed against each other, either consciously or subconsciously. He did not kiss her deeply or deliberately. She could only vaguely feel his lips on hers, touching her lips’ surface very lightly.
nShe quickly turned around.
nHis lips brushed past hers and landed on her cheek.
nAmidst the ambiguous silence, she pushed him away with both hands.
nShe did not use much force as she knew she could not push him away.
nShe was just resisting.
nHe smiled and let go of her.
nHaving regained her freedom, she opened the car door and got off.
nAfter closing the door, she paused for a moment before looking down at him. “Do unto others as you would them do unto you.”
nThen, she staggered off.
nHer footsteps were a little messy, and she felt a little dizzy.
nMo Yuanxiu casually lit a cigarette, watching Lu Manman’s lonely figure slowly leave. The dim light from the streetlamps cast a long shadow on her, making her seem pathetic.
nTonight should have been a success, or at least the outcome that Lu Manman wanted. But this woman was not as happy as he originally thought. Why, exactly?!
nBut why did this woman give him a sense of maturity that did not match her age? It was as if she had gone through the vicissitudes of life.
nWas she not only twenty-three years old?
nHe inhaled deeply, and the smoke from the cigarette swirled around him.
nAt this point, his cell phone rang.
nHe looked at the incoming call and picked it up. “Ye Heng.”
n“Ah Xiu, Jiang Yiyao left with Wen Yun.”
n“Follow them.”
n“I will.” Ye Heng nodded and asked, “Are you really planning to continue playing with Lu Manman?”
n“No, I’m not playing.”
n“…”
n“Rest well tomorrow.” With that, Mo Yuanxiu hung up.
nHe looked up at the brightly lit room on the third floor and smirked.
nLu Manman, we are not fooling around!
n…
nThe following morning.
nLu Manman opened her eyes and looked out at the bright sky.
nShe had never been drunk before. It turned out that this was how it felt.
nShe struggled to get out of bed and looked at her pale face in the mirror. Her stomach was still churning, and she felt terrible. She could not throw up, but she felt nauseous, and her head was splitting.
nShe really could not understand how Gu Xin managed to come back to life after being drunk for three to four days a week!
nAfter a quick wash and rinse, she returned to bed and lay down.
nShe picked up her cell phone.
nHer cell phone was already switched off automatically, so she plugged it in and turned it on.
nThe moment she switched on her cell phone, countless messages popped up.
nThey were mostly text messages of missed calls.
nShe looked through them silently. Wen Yun had called her at five in the morning, and there was a total of eight calls.
nShe smiled sarcastically.
nGu Xin had called her a few times, but she did not get a call from the most awaited person: Mo Yuanxiu.
nThis man.
nShe gritted her teeth and initiated the call.
nThe call was picked up after two rings, and he said casually, “Miss Lu, you’re up?”
n“You were waiting for me to wake up?”
n“Otherwise? Do you think I’m the type that likes to talk to drunk women? I only like to sleep with women like that.”
n“Can you be more serious?!” Lu Manman groaned.
n“Do unto others what you would not have done unto you.” The man repeated it word for word.
nThis vengeful man!
nShe clenched her teeth and forced herself to remain calm. “Mo Yuanxiu, how was last night?”
n“Very intense.”
nHer grip tightened on her cell phone.
n“Your fiancé and Jiang Yiyao… It didn’t look like it was their first time. The two of them were very familiar with each other in bed. They were in the same apartment, and the registered residence is not under Wen Yun’s or Jiang Yiyao’s name. That’s why we haven’t made any progress after such a long time,” Mo Yuanxiu said.
n“Where’s the stuff?” Lu Manman’s voice was really calm and cold.
n“It’s with me. Do you need me to bring it over for you?”
n“No need,” Lu Manman said. “I’ll leave it with you for now. Don’t expose it yet.”
n“And?”
n“When the time is right, I will make Wen Yun die a tragic death!”
n“Is that so?” Mo Yuanxiu chuckled. “Miss Lu, what feud do you have with Wen Yun?”
n“No comment.”
nWith that, she hung up.
nHer eyes narrowed and she scoffed.
nIf she already set her heart to it, she had to go even further. She had to tear apart Wen Yun’s facade in an even more sinister way!
nJust as she was thinking about this, her cell phone rang.
nShe looked at the incoming call and pursed her lips. “Yun.”
n“Manman, are you only up now?”
n“Mm-hm. I was drunk last night. How about you?”
n“I was drunk too,” the person on the other end said helplessly. “Let’s not participate in Gu Xin’s next project. That lunatic.”
n“Mm-hm.” Lu Manman nodded.
n“By the way, my dad asked me to invite your family over for a meal tonight to discuss the marriage. Are you free?”
n“I should be free. I’ll talk to my parents.”
n“Alright, I’ll pick you up tonight then.”
n“Okay.” Lu Manman had always been gentle.
n“Manman, the happiest thing for me is marrying you,” Wen Yun said gently. “I will take care of you for the rest of my life.”
n“Me too.” Lu Manman smiled, betraying her own thoughts.
n“I love you. Bye.”
n“Bye.”
nAfter hanging up, she stared at her cell phone silently. She really could not understand it. He had just slept with another woman last night and was now saying something so disgusting and against his conscience.
nWen Yun was indeed the ‘most outstanding’ man in Wen City.
n
