nCommander Knock led the vanguard squad out the next morning.

nSince their location was no longer far from Freljord territory, they noticed the tremors as soon as the Titans started marching towards the Freljord settlement.

nProtecting the Freljord tribe from annihilation was one of the main missions of the Vanguard squad apart from their other original main mission.

nAs a squad consisting of the best 20 warriors from each of the 8 major tribes of the Great Desert, making it 160 warriors, it was a great force.

nThe Vanguard Squad arrived to meet a great battle.

nBoom! Boom!

nThe Freljord tribe warriors were already giving their all to hold their last stand against the Titans to buy enough time for their tribesmen to evacuate.

nCommander Knock and Drog may have fought the previous day over the position of the Commander but there was no doubt that they were both one of the best warriors in the vanguard squad.

nOnce Knock was chosen as the commander, all the warriors acknowledged him, including Drog who once antagonized him, they would listen to his orders.

nOn arriving, the first thing that they noticed was the Warrior Titans.

nAt this moment, there were 3 Warrior Titans already rampaging through the territory of the Freljord tribe, casualties filled the ground in a pool of their blood.

nCommander Knock reacted fast. “Our main targets are those 3 Titans in armor, we need to kill them fast”.

n“The Jabari tribe unit, the Audun tribe unit, and the Drago Celeste unit will be following me alongside the Kong unit to kill those 3 Titans”.

n“Every other unit, cooperate to annihilate the other Titans”.

n“Yes, Commander!”

nKnock unsheathed his sword and led the attack on the Titans.

nBehind Aegon, his unit captain, Altan sprinted with his war sickle tightly in his grasp as they charged towards the 3 Warrior Titans.

nOn seeing them from afar, morale among the Freljord warriors rose.

n“Reinforcement is here brothers!”

n“Don’t despair, we shall annihilate the Titans!”

nEven as they sprinted towards the 3 powerful Titans that seemed unstoppable, Knock was attentive as he carefully observed them.

nBefore they got close, he arrived at a tactic to bring all 3 of them down.

n“All rangers, focus on restricting their movements”.

n“All protector Pugilists, don’t focus on their head, just focus on dealing lethal damage to incapacitate mostly its legs”.

n“Leave the heads to the Elementalists”.

n“Only Elementalists who have mastered the Intermediate Fire Control knowledge and Intermediate Fire Emission class knowledge should follow Shogun’s lead, put emphasis on creating fiery spears”.

nAll the warriors unconditionally obeyed the orders of their Commander.𝒪𝗏𝐞𝗅xt.𝗇𝓔t

nAlongside the other Pugilists, Altan charged behind Aegon, Drog, and Knock as they soon closed the distance and clashed against the 3 Titans.

nPugilists were fierce combatants, that was the only thing that they were good at and in this battlefield led by Knock, they showcased their specialty.

nThey could not deal AOE damage like the Elementalists but against the Titans, Pugilists who could concentrate all of their power on a single attack were the perfect opponents to defeat them.

nBam! Bam! Bam!

nThe sounds reverberated like exploding dominoes.

nOf course, the Warrior Titans retaliated but they were now fighting against the cream of the top among all the warriors of the 8 major tribes.

nIn battle, these fierce desertmen were unstoppable.

nIn no time, one of the Warrior Titans was crippled as it’s left leg caved in after being smashed by one of Knock’s signature power fist smash.

nInstantly after the Warrior Titan wobbled, the Elementalists jumped in.

n“Elementalist Ability: Fireball Hail!”

n“Elementalist Skill: Fiery Spears!”

nShogun of the Shagaai tribe led the charge of the Elementalists.

nWith his long white hair waving in the dry wind, his Elementalist staff moved, leaving afterimages as the specialty of the greatest fire experts of the major tribes was shown, the Warrior Titan was scorched.

nLike before, it protected its brain but the Elementalists were not alone.

nBy concentrating their Pugilist energy in their eyes, Aegon, Drog, and Knock were able to see through the fiery explosion that the Warrior Titan was still alive.

nLike the first Warrior Titan, it protected its head with its weapon.

nThese 3 Pugilists were not having it though as their Pugilist energy exploded. Blue, red, and green Pugilist energy exploded at 3 different parts around the injured Warrior Titan as the 3 colors scaled the huge Titan.

nEmpowering their legs with their Pugilist energy granted 3 of them such speed that they arrived before the Titan’s head in just a second.

nOnce they got to its head, the rest was history.

nBoom! Boom! Boom!

nThey smashed the Titan’s head till the crystal cracked and exploded, the Warrior Titan shrieked one last time before falling dead.

nWithout any pause in their rhythm, without celebrating, instantly after the first Warrior Titan died, they changed targets to the 2nd and 3rd Warrior Titan.

n“Roar!!!”

nThe Titans roared but they were only making noise.

nThey could only delay the inevitable for a few minutes but the outcome was the same, no warrior of the Vanguard Squad died as all 3 Warrior Titans were brought down within the time frame of 40 minutes.

nWith the Warrior Titans down, the battle became easier.

nCharging towards the remaining Civilian Titans, the Vanguard Squad proved why they were chosen as they slaughtered the Civilian Titans.

nFor 6 hours, it seemed like the Titans would not seize invading as they kept on coming even as they were slaughtered but on the 7th hour, everything stopped.

nFor the first time since the threat of the Titans reached the first major tribe settlement, a victory was won against the Titans.

nThe remaining Titans escaped, running back into the ancient ruins.

nThey won the battle, but they could not celebrate. Hundreds of brave warriors of the Freljord tribe were sacrificed to get this victory.

nThe 3 Commanders of the Freljord tribe went to thank the Commander of the Vanguard Squad before taking him to their elder’s pyramid.

n“Thank you, young Commander”. The elders expressed their gratitude.

nKnock acknowledged it before asking. “What will you do? From the just concluded battle, I have a hunch that the Titans are yet to show all their cards”.

n“We know that too”. The oldest elder sighed. “Our tribe head went to negotiate with the Drago Celeste tribe, we just got news from him”.

n“For the short term, the Drago Celeste tribe agrees to accommodate our civilians”. The elder sighed. “We can’t fight the Titans alone”.

nThe elder looked at Knock. “What of you, young Commander?”

n“Our mission is barely starting, we intend to enter deep into Titan territory”.

n“Oh, ok”. The elder stood up the next moment before bringing a book. “This is a compilation of everything that we learned about the Titans during the past 2 days of battle and weeks of information gathering by our rangers”.

nKnock took the book and took a glance at the title. “Thank you elder, this book will help us in our mission a lot”.

n“No need to thank me”. The elder smiled. “It’s the Titans you’re fighting after all, good luck young Commander”.

n“You too old man”.

nKnock stood up and left to plan with his warriors.
