nBoom! Boom! Boom!

nMagic and Necromancy power clashed powerfully in the air.

nFor the first time in his long life, Core Protector Daemon received the opportunity of fighting head-on against a Mage, a high-grade Super of an entirely different class that he had never seen nor heard of before.

n“So, the power of magic is real”.

n“It is an honor fighting against you but…, you must die!”

nCore Protector Daemon called up all his experience and powers as an old monster and Necromancy but yet, he could not bypass the defenses of the powerful alien Mage. This Nak Captain effortlessly fended off his attacks.

nThe alien Mage’s long black robes despite looking light was actually sturdier than the strongest armor. It defended most of the attacks.

nThe most infuriating part of it all was that the powerful Mage didn’t seem to have the intention of finishing him off, it was like he was stalling for time.

nDaemon also noticed the same thing with the Alien Battleship. Having noticed the amount of destruction that it outputted with it’s first attack from afar previously, he was positive that the Battleship could hit harder than now.

nFor some reason, the Battleship was deliberately holding back its power.

nAfter the first attack through its main turrets, the Battle Cruiser only now attacked through its secondary turrets and armaments.

nAnother factor was that it had never used its hard-hitting cannons nor it’s weapons of mass destruction like its antimatter bomb warheads and psionic missiles. Only the supers from the Combat Carrier really fought with their all.

nAnd only the workers of the Logistic Ship worked with all their efforts.

nCore Protector Daemon observed. “What are they up to?”

nHe looked at the Logistic Ship that was assisting the workers, helping them to terraform the surroundings, slowly turning it into a defensible war fortress.

nHe frowned. “Do they plan to build a base of operations here?”

nDespite the many questions in his mind, he could only shelve them since he didn’t seem to have the power to overwhelm the alien. This lasted for only a short while though, after taking his time, the next reinforcement finally arrived.

nWhoosh!

nHaving fused with Akela, Legolas’ speed at this moment was godly.

nFrom afar, as soon as he came within range while still running, he equipped his Positron Rifle from his storage ring and aimed.

nLegolas pulled the trigger.

nBoom!

nA massive white beam was unleashed from the muzzle of the gigantic Rifle. Even before the trigger was pulled, the Mage’s damage intuition already warned him, at the last moment, he casted a spell.

n“Intermediate Spell: Bestia Transformatio!”

nInstantly after casting the spell, the alien Mage shrunk, transforming into a flying rat, effectively dodging the range of the powerful beam in the process.

nDaemon also dodged the attack by the skin of his teeth.

nBefore Daemon could recover though, the Mage recovered first.

n“Advanced Spell: Sanguinis Obliterationis!”

nCore Protector Daemon clutched his abdomen as he coughed blood.

nHe looked with shock on his face. “What type of Super ability is this?”

n“Advanced Spell: Ignis Defensionis!”

nThis time, the alien Mage didn’t attack, he defended himself as fire sprouted out of nowhere, forming a defensive perimeter around him but this could not stop the latest newcomer.

n“Special Pugilist Ability: Fist of Obliteration!”

nBOOM!

nBlade’s fist collided against the fiery defense but the fire flickered, it could not hold it’s ground, it shattered into ashes, Blade’s raw power prevailed.

n“Advanced Spell: Inch Corruptelam!”

nAt the last moment before Blade’s fist could hit, the Mage teleported. Less than a millisecond later, he arrived behind Blade, about to counterattack.

nHe underestimated the power of the young Pugilist though.

nBlade read his opponent’s intentions and he was not just fast enough to intercept, he had more than enough battle experience to outwit him.

n“Special Pugilist Ability: One-Inch Punch!”

nAt point blank range, Blade turned his body at an impossible angle and speed and unleashed a one-inch punch at him.

nBAM!

nCaptain Miyamoto Chan received the first attack that hit him squarely, the powerful punch hit him directly on his abdomen.

n“Ugh…!”

nThe Mage coughed blood for the first time, he was shocked.

n“How?”

nBlade was not in the mood of answering him though, his fists moved at the speed of lightning as he unleashed a barrage of attacks at him.

nThis was when Eleanor, Newton, and Heimdall finally arrived.

nLegolas called more power at this moment.𝚘𝒱𝓁xt.𝗇𝓔t

n“ROAR…!”

nPredator announced his presence as he charged out of the beast plane alongside his Spirit Beast companion, Tata the Soul Reaper.

n“Screech…!”

nThe wolf-like Soul Reaper shrieked as it unleashed a soul attack. As soon as it shrieked, a dangerous green corona of soul energy spread from it’s mouth.

nWith Tata making his move already, Predator pounced forward even as the others all attacked the Mage.

nThis time, he was truly cornered but the alien Captain showed no panic.

nHis eyes squinted in seriousness as all the attacks flew towards him, then with a flick of his right hand, he finally brought out his magic staff.

nUnder his prompt and immaculate control, magic power gathered and fluctuated all around him as he started chanting a spell that was longer and more complicated than all the previous ones.

n“Supreme Spell: Magia Manoeuver; Fallaciae!”

nThis Mage instantly became as weightless as a leaf and as elusive as a grain of sand in a beach, he weaved through all the attacks like a drop of water in an ocean, he almost seemed to merge with the wind itself.

nBam! Bam! Bam!

nHe dodged the attacks from all the Grade C Superhumans attacking him, horrifying them by his competence. But this could not last for long, everyone of his human opponents were elites of the elites and he was soon hit.

nThe first hit soon heralded the 2nd and then the 3rd and subsequently the 4th. His magic robe may be absolving most of the attacks but others went through.

nSoloing them was all a calculated risk in his strategy by the alien that accumulated up to now.

n‘Now!’ He whispered after receiving another attack.

nThe Battle Cruiser levitating in the air churned as it tapped into the bottomless reserves of its power reactor, it’s main canon was brought to rear its head for the first time as it aimed at the humans.

nAll of them felt the danger but it happened instantaneously.

nIt gave them no time to react.

nBOOM…!!!

nFor a brief moment, it was like a tornado arrived. And after the tornado, it felt like a tsunami followed which was capped with the emergence of an earthquake that rattled this battlefield.

nBOOM! BOOM! BOOM!

nYou have been inflicted with the Heavily bleeding status!

nLegolas arguably had the most health points among the battling Superhumans, if even him lost 40% of his health points from just one power display by the Battle Cruiser, the others suffered even more damage.

n“…!” A brief moment of stunned silence descended on the battlefield.

nLevitating in the air, the alien Captain already retreated some distance away from them and at this moment was levitating on top the completed war fortress.

nIn just a few minutes, with the assistance of a Logistic Ship built completely towards logistic activities, they managed to erect a sturdy war fortress that could not be easily breached by the humans in a short time.

nThis was the power of specialized Spaceships.

nLegolas finally understood why this Mage stalled for time previously. ‘He stalled for time so this base war fortress could be completed’.

n‘This was his plan all along’. His eyes narrowed.

n‘And reserving so much accumulated power in the power reactor to unleash the main canon attack so suddenly, he wants to leave a strong impression on us’.

n‘He wants to intimidate us’.

nLegolas observed around him. ‘His plan seemed to have worked’.

nHis Grade C companions were no longer as enthusiastic to dive into another attack run after suffering that horrifying damage from the Battle Cruiser.

nLegolas shook his head inwardly. ‘A game well played’.

nHe glared at the Mage. ‘I understand their plan now’.

nHe could see troubling times ahead.

nAs for now, this sudden invasion and battle ended in a stalemate.
