nFor a moment, Onana was tempted to stay behind and test out the power of these Space bugs but experience told him otherwise. As an explorer, you need to trust your instincts and know when to cut your losses and escape.

nAt this moment, his instinct told him to escape first.

nThe unknown was always the most dangerous.

n“Goard, take off!”

nThe A.I of the Starship obeyed instantly.

nThe starship’s powerful radioactive engine pumped power into the thrusters as it broke the planet’s gravity and lifted up with momentum. Without hesitation, it started rapidly accelerating into the radioactive skies.

nThe only problem was, at the same time, the Space Bugs reacted.

nThey were Bugs but they moved like a colony of Ants.

nAs soon as the starship rose up, Onana was able to see the planet clearly. From a vantage point, and through the starship’s sensors, though he could not see the full planet, from this side, the Bugs were everywhere.

nA worrying fact was that their speed was faster than he expected. Though it was not as fast as the starship, it was enough for them to barely keep up.

nIn their crazy numbers, they rose up in their horde in a clear bid to surround the starship from all sides before drowning it in their numbers and devouring it.

nHe worried if they had long-ranged abilities.

n‘How were they hiding since?’ He thought with a frown.

nHe was positively sure that when he entered the planet, he detected no signs of any red objects, Planet Titania’s surface was entirely made of gray metal.

nHis eyes narrowed. ‘Do they live under the surface metal?’

nWhile he thought, they finally attacked.

nHis worst fears came through, 1

/3rd of the millions of Bugs that rose up suddenly glowed in a bright red light. Then the next moment, a bright corona of red energy like blood was unleashed towards the starship.

nNew Threat Assessment: Extremely Dangerous!

nWarning! Powerful radioactive attack detected!

nWarning! Power level exceeding estimate!

nDirecting all available power to protect the Champion!

nActivating emergency launch…!

nThe new threat assessment came a little bit too late.

nThese were Goard’s last words.

nEverything happened so fast, the attack hit instantly.

nBOOM!

nMetallic shrapnel and other particles exploded everywhere at great velocities as the starship was instantly obliterated out of existence.

n1 attack from the Bugs was all it took to obliterate a starship.

nThey didn’t stop though, they instead increased their speed, this was because the human was already escaping at an even higher speed.

n‘Such raw power’. Onana was amazed and amused.

n‘What type of Space Bug specie is this?’

nAt the last moment, redirecting all the power of the starship, the emergency eject sequence was activated as Onana was launched out of the starship at the last moment, saving him from the incredibly lethal attack.

nThat attack was all Onana needed to know that his stay here was not welcome. Instantly after being launched out, his Samurai-style armor transformed, turning into a makeshift mechanical suit through which he escaped now.

n‘At this speed, I will escape the planet’s sphere before they can reach me’.

nBZZZ!

nOnana’s eyes immediately turned dizzy, his suit interface lit up.

nWarning! Psychic attack detected!

nOnana was horrified, through the sensors of his armor, he looked back down at the Planet only to see the sudden emergence of 3 similarly red Space Bugs with black dots that were far bigger than all the others.

nOne had 2 antennas on his head, another had a horn growing from its head, while the last looked stocky and firm like a ball of unbreakable metal.

nIt was the one with 2 antennas that just sent a psychic blast at him.

n‘This power!’ Onana was shocked.

nBOOM!

nWhile he looked, the huge Space Bug with a horn suddenly unleashed a powerful atomic blast through it’s horn. Onana reacted fast as he tried to dodge through his mechanical suit, but he was not fast enough, a part of the armor was hit.

nWARNING!

nShield integrity has decreased by 40%!

nOnana’s face finally turned grave. By now, more than 40% of the normal Space Bugs already got to his position in the air as they rapidly surrounded him before they started accelerating towards his position.

nIn his current state, he estimated that his chances of escaping without fighting these Space Bugs was now below 10%.

nHe scowled then he reconnected his feed to his subordinates in the Frigate.

n“Send in Berserker!”

nWarning! Heavy Radioactive Interference…, unstable network!

nThe Space Bugs accelerated towards him.

nAnd suddenly, the last of the 3 special Space Bugs that appeared finally made it’s move. After hitting the metal surface of the planet repeatedly like a Bull, it suddenly launched into the skies with incredible speed like a space rocket.

nWhoosh!

nThe network problem indicated that he was now alone, Onana’s eyes turned sharp. ‘I can’t escape this’.

nInstantly after he came to the conclusion, magnetic energy cackled around him. This was concentrated mechanical energy of the Grade B realm.

n“Special Mechanical Ability: Mech Suit Connection!”

nHis cybernetic eyes changed and glowed a silver color.

n“Special Mechanic Ability: Mech Suit Descent!”

nInstantly after this, Onana grabbed his Cutting-Edge transformable Rifle and aimed it at the Space Bug that already appeared before him.

n“Special Mechanic Ability: Total Resonance!”

nHis blue magnetic energy cackled and snaked into the body of the powerful Rifle. When he pulled the trigger, the blue magnetic energy followed it.

nBoom!

nThe stocky Space Bug’s momentum instantly paused for a moment as the powerful laser beam struck against its thick metal frame, melting through a large area of metal but this did not completely stop the Space Bug.

nIt let out a soundless cry and continued charging forward.

nBy now, it was already extremely close to Onana.

nHis eyes narrowed. “Mechanic Ability: Rifle Transformation!”

nAs his magnetic energy snaked through the body of the powerful Rifle, from its Laser Rifle configuration, the Rifle instantly turned bigger and heavier, transforming into a thick Guass Rifle configuration.

nOnana pulled the trigger!

nBOOM!

nThe physical conducting projectile was accelerated at an incredible velocity. The Bug did not see it coming as the metal slug slammed against its metal hide.

nCrank!

nIt’s thick metal skin caved in, then the metal slug dug deeper before going all the way through. Electricity cackled through its body before it exploded.

nOnana’s eyes flickered. ‘It took me so much to kill one of these Bugs’.

n‘They don’t have up to Grade B power but definitely above Grade C’.

n‘That means the regular Bugs may be even weaker’.

nBy now, they already closed the distance to him, millions of Space Bugs swarmed towards him like an unending menace but Onana exhibited no fear, he may have his eccentricities but he was a bonafide Champion, he was a war veteran.

n“Mechanic Ability: Rifle Transformation!”

n“Mechanic Ability: Total Resonance!”

nHis blue magnetic energy resonated with the Rifle before it suddenly broke into 2 parts, turning into individual Positron Pistols.

nInstantly after this transformation, he was submerged by the swarming Bugs.

nA few unsettling seconds followed as Onana was submerged.

nThen the next moment, blue magnetic energy burst out.

nBam! Bam! Bam!

nEach shot reverberated alongside the others, combining together to form a cacophony like a professional drummer rolling through his drum set.𝒐𝒱𝐞𝐿xt.𝗰𝚘𝓂

nAnd in the wake of this explosive eruption from Onana, metal shrapnel and particles exploded apart from the dead Space Bugs.

nOnana entered a state of overdrive as his armor turned makeshift mech suit rotated on the spot, giving him the angle to shoot at all the Space Bugs. Every shot from him killed multiple Space Bugs, he massacred them.

nThe only problem was that more of them were coming, there were literally millions of Space Bugs surrounding him at this moment.

nAnd another fact was that, there were 2 more special Bugs.

nBzzz!

nAnother Psychic blast hit him which was quickly followed by another long-ranged laser shot from the last special Bug.

nThese 2 attacks disrupted his tempo as the normal Bugs submerged him again. Onana called into his full experience and strength as a Champion as he fought with a stony face, using all the tricks in his book to save his life.

nAt this moment, he could no longer escape.

nHe relied on the arrival of his baby that he already called for.

nWhile he doggedly fought for his life, he received another laser beam attack and with this, he finally became vulnerable.

n“Special Mechanic Ability: Energy Recycling!”

nBy expending a lot of his mechanic energy, the shield came to life again with 50% integrity, this bought enough time for his baby to finally arrive.

nThe powerful energy radiating from the mechanical suit attracted the attention of the Space Bugs. They tried to intercept it but with raw power, it bulldozed its way through them before finally reaching its master.

nWith crackling sounds, the mechanical suit opened up as it seamlessly integrated the already injured Onana inside its safe metal haven.

nOnana regained his vision to familiar lights and user interface.
