nThe Frost Wolf’s howl announced its presence and the incoming disaster.

nLike most castles with walls, Palm Island had a special superhuman warrior unit that was delegated to protecting the walls that surrounded the island.

nAs soon as they saw the Giant Frost Wolf descend on the island, alarms were rang all across the wall. The Chefron instantly became insignificant since against the Frost Wolf’s menacing aura, the Chefron now seemed friendly.

nHaving fought against other beasts that attacked from the sea before, the wall guard had a specific set of rules to follow on emergencies like this.

nOn emergencies like this, squads were supposed to attack the said beast even without orders from the Commander to prevent casualties inside the island.

n“Aim at the Wolf!”

n“Shoot!”

nWhoosh!

nAfter spending its whole life in the beast plane, despite meeting humans already before now, the massive Frost Wolf had never been to their cities. It was distracted from its main target for a few moments by the city wall.

nThis act of looking at the walls to the warriors that mounted it was an act of aggression and was why they took the initiative to attack first.

nBefore they even released the attacks, the enormous Frost Wolf felt their animosity first as it’s outlook of these people changed instantly.

n“Roar!” It roared as huge specialized arrows and spears that were created to kill beasts of such huge sizes were unleashed by the warriors who manned the wall.𝑜𝒱𝓁xt.𝚌𝑂𝓶

nThe Frost Wolf stared sternly at the flying arrows before making his move.

nThe Frost Wolf jumped up before breathing frost into the air.

nThe next moment, all the arrows that were sent towards him froze in the air. As soon as they froze, they came under its control and under its will orders, the frozen arrows changed direction and flew back to where they came from.

nBoom! Boom! Boom!

nThe defense of the wall stood no chance, the frozen arrows and spears collided against the wall with enormous force, slamming holes into it as warriors died in large numbers.

nWhile all these happened, the swift Chefron already slipped behind the defensive line of the island straight into the island to hide.

nNot seeing its targets, the Frost Wolf howled one last time before charging at the walls of the island with an intent to ram into it and tear it apart.

n“It’s coming for the wall!”

n“All warriors, aim at that wolf and kill it!”

nWhoosh!

nAnother salvo of attacks was released but they achieved nothing as the Frost Wolf created an ice shield around its body. The arrows and spears collided against it before bouncing back like they had no force.

nWith enough momentum, the massive wolf finally rammed into the wall.

nThe wall of Palm Island that stood for decades had a massive hole punctured through it as the unstoppable Frost Wolf charged into the island.

n“Contact the palace, inform them about the danger!”

nJust a few seconds after the Commander of the wall guard gave the order, the news got to the royal palace as the whole island entered a state of alert.

nThough the Frost Wolf revealed just a small part of its strength, they already estimated its strength and knew the threat that it posed to the island.

nQueen Bianca and Hestia ordered an evacuation of all citizens to the underground bunkers as she mobilized her full army to bring down this beast.

nA single beast sent this island into such a great panic.

nAmid all the commotion, the Frost Wolf ignored everything and charged towards one direction, the center of the island where the palace was located.

nLegolas was dubious enough to order the Chefron to escape there. Against this Frost Wolf, he knew that his only hopes of survival was relying on the island. The mistake was already made, what matters was their survival now.

nAmid it’s loud roars and howls, the angry Frost Wolf finally arrived at the palace to meet an army of thousands of superhuman warriors who were prepared for it and ready to do their best to kill it.

nWith the defense of the palace in mind, the army formed a wedge-shaped formation with 5 faces. Each of the 5 faces had a specific battle unit corresponding to Pugilists, Elementalists, Summoners, support warriors, and subclass warriors.

nBoth Queens led from the front of the formation as they watched the beast attentively while getting ready to respond to any of its movements.

nThe Frost Wolf did not pay attention to them though, it instead searched for its targets. Having abandoned the Chefron with Christensen already, alone with the Shadow Hound, Legolas infiltrated the palace to hide.

nHe was not just hiding, he had a plan.

nThrough Christensen’s understanding of the palace, he already knew where the armory was located. On getting there, he searched for seconds until he finally found what he was looking for, the Cloak of Nothingness.

nJust like the Chefron, this was a treasured artifact of the Palm Royal family.

nAs soon as he learned of the cloak’s existence from Christensen during their escape back to the Palm Island, Legolas formed a plan.

nAs soon as Legolas saw the cloak in the armory, he heaved a sigh of relief as he used it to cover the Hound. Instantly after he did this, it was like the Shadow Hound was erased from existence.

n“You, stay put right there!” Legolas ordered and waited for the aftermath of his actions.

nHe did not have to wait long.

n“ROAR!!!” The Frost Wolf roared in disbelief and anger.

nIt just lost the smell through which it tracked the Shadow Hound.

nThis beast could not even think, the fact that the Shadow Hound came and escaped its senses here directly implicated everyone on this island.

nThe Frost Wolf was angry, it no longer held back as it released its full aura.

nBoom!

nA mighty cold storm like a tsunami swept across the island.

nWhen everything died down, Palm Island already turned into an icy plain as frost filled most parts of the island. In its domain, having lost all rationality due to anger, the Frost Wolf finally started another phase of destruction.

nIts movements were like those of a giant stepping on dwarf territory.

nIt’s immense powers over frost wreaked utter devastation to the island.

nOnce the Frost Wolf became serious, Palm Island’s real disaster came.

nThe army that the 2 Queens organized stood no chance before a Grade C beast. They were swept away alongside the frost and destruction.

nThe Pugilists tried to charge closer but they were only frozen to death. All the Elemental attacks of the Elementalists were neutralized by the freezing ice of the Frost Wolf, it stomped the contracted beasts of the summoners to death.

nBlood flowed like a river as the giant Frost Wolf released hundreds of icicles that fell from the sky, descending and impaling soldiers to their deaths.

nIcy storms swept across the island, claiming a lot of lives every second as this massive beast from the beast plane wreaked utter destruction in Palm Island.

nIn just 4 minutes, the whole island seemed to become a dead icy field already. From on top a vantage point, the 2 Queens watched in horror as this beast destroyed the works of their ancestors.

n“W-we need to call the elders…” Hestia stammered.

n“But they’re in hibernation”.

n“We need to call them!” Hestia yelled at her sister then together as she led the way, they sprinted underground to a hidden chamber in the royal palace.

nWhile they left, miraculous changes happened to Christensen amid all the chaos and destruction. After contracting the Shadow Hound, though it took some time at first, the effects of the Organic Connection finally started taking effect.

nDespite being injured, the Shadow Hound was a bonafide Grade D beast, it became the catalyst for Christensen and Leo to break their limits.

nIn this moment of disaster, both of them broke their limits and became Grade D powerhouses. Christensen could not relish in the moment due to his achievement though as he looked at the destruction across his home.

n“What have I done?”

nJust a minute later, a hole was torn open from underneath the palace and from it came 6 elders who were all cloth in dust-filled grey attire.

nThe 6 elders that formed the Council of Elders of the Palm Island royal family.

nThis was Palm Island’s last defense and surprisingly, one of the Elders was already a Grade C- powerhouse as he commanded his contracted beast to emerge.

nTension for an epic clash filled the air.
