Chapter 1343 Randal's Story
The auction for Ning’s two items went extremely well, with each fetching 15 thousand Fire Coins together. Along with the rest of the sales that he made that day, his earnings were going to reach over 25 thousand Fire Coins that day alone.
Randal sat to the side with his 3 wives, Bayona, Sheriya, and Gallena. They had pestered him to buy the items, and so Randal had bet during the auction as well.
While they didn’t get the Space Spear, which Randal didn’t want to buy anyway, he did manage to outbid everyone on the Shadow Scythes.
“Congratulations on getting this,” Ning said, handing the scythes over to the young man. Sheriya immediately snatched it from Randal’s hand, giving a wide grin in return.
Randal could only sigh and shake his head. Then, he turned toward Ning. “So, how do we do this? The contract, I mean,” he said.
“Wait a few minutes,” Ning said. “I’ve called someone. She should be here soon. For now, I want to learn more about you. Tell me about yourself and your system.”
Randal shrugged and started telling Ning about himself.
Randal was born to a family that wasn’t poor, but never really had any luxurious life. Until the age of 7, he lived in a village with his mother and father. However, during a rather hot summer, the snows of the Snowden Empire had melted and flooded a major part of the empire.
Randal’s family was caught on the floor and had nearly died. The only reason they had lived was because Randal had managed to awaken his Space System in time and had gotten his parents out of the flood.
Once the system came on, memories of his last life flooded Randal as well, and he soon had the mind of a more mature person. Still, he had to learn to live in this world.
Randal spent the next 5 years bettering himself however he could before leaving the village. To start on his journey as an Essence user, he had to follow the instructions of his system to do what it asked.
Starting off, the tasks he needed to do were simple. Go to a city with a population of 200 thousand people.
Enter an academy.
Earn 100 Essence Coins.
The simple tasks, while not quickly completed, were easy for the 12-year-old Randal. Completing them gave him rewards, the main of which was a technique to absorb Space Essence.
And so he became a Space Essence user.
The tasks became harder and harder, taking him out of his comfort zone to do ridiculous things. Randal could still remember the day he saw the task that told him to copulate with a princess.
He hadn’t even considered finding himself a wife just then and the system had forced him to find a princess.
That was how he had met up with Gayona. At first, his intention was only to fulfill the task for the reward, but as he got to know her and her situation, he fell in love with her.
By the time he finished the task, it was just a bonus for him.
Marrying the daughter of a High Prince made Randal a High lord and he brought his parents to the city to enjoy life with him.
His parents lived the next 40 years of their lives in peace before dying of old age. At that time, Randal had managed to bring home Sheriya as a wife too.
A man of his status marrying more than one woman was not unheard of in the Blueflame empire, so nobody complained. And the two women themselves had nothing to say as they both loved Randal enough to tolerate each other.
By the time Randal brought Gallena, they had all but gotten used to it.
Randal went through many things in his over a century-year-old life, going from war to peace, from happiness to sorrow. He once won a competition showing off his Space Essence to the world. He made a fortune selling storage artifacts.
There were many more things he did that he simply couldn’t list all of them. And throughout all of it, his system had been his primary help.
Ning heard everything and nodded.
‘So it’s a Quest and Reward type of system, huh?’ Ning thought. Many systems were made that way to make their owner think they were getting something from the deal, not knowing that they were destroying their chance at reincarnation.
If Ning wasn’t mistaken, then Randal was on his last life with no hopes for reincarnation. With how tainted his soul must’ve been, when he died, he would most likely end up having his soul destroyed.
Ning couldn’t help him even if he wanted to. All the man could do now was enjoy the life he did have. “What is your system’s next task?” Ning asked him.
“My tasks?” Randal was taken aback for a second before nodding and looking at his system.
“There are three ongoing,” he said, hesitating for a bit. “Do you want to hear them?”
Ning nodded.
“The first one is to have my business earn a total of 50 Million Essence Coins in another continent,” Randal said. “That’s why I’m trying to extend my business to the other continents.”
“The second one is to find myself another wife,” he said.
Ning was surprised that he was going to get another wife soon. He wondered how the girls beside him would react, but all they did was sigh.
“They know?” he asked.
“I don’t hide anything from my wives,” Randal said.
“Okay… continue,” Ning said.
“The final one is simple but perhaps the most difficult,” Randal said. “I have to reach the Divine realm.”
“Ooh… that’s hard,” Ning replied. “When did you reach the Stellar Harmony realm?”
“About 30 years ago,” Randal said. “I’ll take another 50 years at this rate at the quickest.”
Ning nodded and thought for a moment before smirking. “Do you want my help?” he asked.
“Your help?” Randal asked. “What can you do?”
“I can give you a new absorption technique that can help you reach the Divine realm in the next 20 years.”
