Chapter 1527: Departure
Ning arrived at City 3 from where he was to board a ship and leave for Urelon. As he was still officially a cadet, he was tasked with the proper coordination of taking people from their
homes to the ship.
To Ning’s surprise, the ship was in fact not in any of the cities and was instead outside on the surface.
As it turned out, not all of the expeditions to the outside had been for finding Spark. Some of them had been for making sure that ships hadn’t been harmed.
These ships were the same ships that had brought them here from the previous moon, and it would be the same to take them away from Urelon when the time came for them to move.
There was a special duct that connected directly to the ship, from where people were boarding the ship without coming into the toxic environment of Zoultan.
The ship itself was massive, no different from a mountain of pure white metal. It was bulbous, almost spherical, similar to many of the technology in this place. And there was a small section at the bottom for exhaust.
For whatever reason, the propulsion system of the ship appeared by far
unequipped transferring nearly 2 million people at once. Ning simply couldn’t figure out how they were going to get the ship to fly off the surface.
To begin with, it seemed to be made without much care for air resistance. But then again, that wasn’t much of a big deal when most of the moons did not have any sort of atmosphere to them.
Ning was more than sure that people with the power of Spark were to be involved in one way or another.
The people in the ship were more or less compacted into a small space, strapped to the brim with thick leather straps to keep them from moving. They could once the ship was in outer space, but until then they were going to have to remain strapped.
Once all the civilians were put into straps, Ning was made to stay there as well.
Ning got himself into position and then made an illusion of himself in the place before getting out of it.
He wandered around the place, watching everyone getting ready to fly. He wanted to see how the propulsion worked, but before he could do that, he heard something interesting that caught his attention.
They were getting all the Attractors in place.
“I see,” Ning said softly and went to the very top of the ship where nearly 500 different Attractors were standing around the ship, strapped into the side, with their hands touching the ship.
There were two men at the center. One of them simply lazed around, doing nothing, but the other seemed hard at work, with his eyes closed, seemingly connected to every other person standing around them.
‘A Thinker and a Connector,’ Ning thought. He had come to understand the importance of a Thinker, and as for a Connector, they were necessary to perfectly coordinate so many different people at once. Saʀᴄh th N0ᴠFre.nt website on Ggl to access chapters of nvels early and in the highest quality.
A final countdown sounded throughout the ship as everyone prepared for takeoff.
Ning waited and watched as the countdown reached zero. Then simultaneously, the propulsion at the bottom of the ship went off and the Attractors did their thing.
For an Attractor, they needed to target the gravity of something and make it enhance. The enhancement was multiplicative, meaning the stronger the actual gravity, the stronger it would become.
The gravity that the Attractors had chosen was the gravity of the gas giant that had come to be nearly directly above them. With that sort of gravity attracting them directly off the moon, it was far too easy for the ship to take off.
Of course, it was not just the Attractors doing everything. The propulsion system was working as well. Ning wanted to see if the propulsion was truly all that it seemed to be and teleported to the bottom of the ship.
Of course, this was not simply a propulsion system.
There were people all around the bottom section of the ship, pouring what seemed to be fire and air directly into the bottom of the ship through special holes built along the side panels.
One section of the ship had Breathers, capable of creating air, and the other section had Burners, capable of creating fire.
The sudden fusion of air and fire caused the air to expand at such a fast rate that the force that came out of it was enough to give enough aid to the Attracted ship that it began lifting from the moon.
Due to the situation, the escape velocity of the ship ended up being far minuscule in comparison to the original amount. At a fraction of the force, the ship was lifted off with neither the air resistance nor the mass of the ship being of much trouble.
In fact, the massive size of the ship and the sheer weight it held actually helped the Attractors make the ship lift even easier as the multiplicative force of the Attraction was more than happy to work with something this massive and heavy.
Ning saw another Connector working in tandem with the many people, coordinating them. Perhaps, this woman was even working with the Connector at the top of the ship, coordinating that way.
As the ship took flight, it quickly reached the thin upper atmosphere of the moon. As the ship continued, Ning noticed that it was slowly taking on a new direction.
The ship’s movement was different from what it was, as though an external force had suddenly taken over.
Ning teleported over to the top of the ship and realized that these people were once again changing the direction of the Attraction, which was now a completely new target.
Based on Ning’s understanding, they were now targeting Urelon which was in the direction where the sun shined.
As he noticed that change, another message rang throughout the ship.
“Take off successful,” the voice said. “Next destination – Urelon.”
