n“Hey. Do you think all Avatars are generous like me?”

n“No.”

nBihyung was an open-minded Dokkebi, but other Avatars were different. However, Woojin was an Avatar himself. Maybe it was a bit easier to befriend the Monkey King in his new body. He also had the memory of fighting alongside the Monkey King in the past. He knew what the Monkey King liked.

n“Just introduce me to him.”

n“Ugh, okay. Just don’t come crying after you get beat up. Even I can’t fight him.”

nBihyung had become much stronger with the Iron Fan, but he was still far less powerful than the Monkey King.

n“Don’t worry. And give me a number for Miho.”

n“Why?”

n“I want her to come with me.”

n“You want her while you go fight with Wangjinjin?”

n“Yeah.”

/ Bihyung crossed his arms, leaned back on the sofa, and shook his head.

n“She won’t go. And even if you do, you don’t know how much it will cost and you still want her with you?”

n“Yeah. I need her. Don’t worry about money.”

nBihyung shrugged and threw him a business card.

n“Yeah, that’s up to you. So when are you going to leave?”

n“Can you prepare everything in three days?”

n“Yeah. I can send those weapons first.”

n“I have to carry one myself.”

n“Yeah. Give me the rest then. I’ll send it over first.”

nWoojin nodded and stood up. Bihyung asked, “Can you really fight Wangjinjin?”

n“Yeah.”

n“I don’t know man. I’ll prepare for your departure in three days. You’ll be off to Xian then.”

n“Yeah. I was thinking of going there too.”

n“I’ll get everything ready for you.”

nWoojin then called Miho on his way out. Miho greeted him excitedly.

nWhat’s up?

n“I need to have a word with you.”

nIs it business?

n“Yeah.”

nLet me warn you. I’m expensive.

n“I know. Are you free today?”

nYeah. We’ll meet at night.

n“Good. I’ll send you a text about where to meet.”

nYeohong approached as Woojin hung up the phone.

n“I heard you need to move your weapons?”

n“Yeah. Let’s go to my hotel.”

n“Lead the way.”

nAs they made their way to the hotel and Woojin brought out the weapons, Yeohong laughed.

n“I almost forgot that you were a hunter.”

nWoojin handed over his weapons and Yeohong asked, “So, you’re leaving in three days?”

n“Yeah.”

n“Let’s spar again.”

/ Yeohong continued as she touched her chest, “I think you are more than a human now.”

n“You remember what happened then?”

n“The reason why Galf’s hypnosis feels like crap is because it leaves you with every memory. I remember your movements then.”

nWoojin looked at Yeohong. He had been getting help from her most of the time in the past, but it wasn’t the same now.

n“How about tomorrow morning?”

n“Good.”

nYeohong then walked out with two bags that Woojin gave to her. He then sat on his bed. The power that had awakened when he shook off Galf’s hypnosis was sleeping. He then heard the alarm that his time was up and got up.

n“It would be better if I could use the power.”

nThe spiritual power inside the Starfish Fang was powerful but it was less stronger than the power he had in his body. If he could use it, he felt like he could find a better use for his power. However, he couldn’t just focus on it for now.

nWoojin headed to the place to meet with Miho. He told her to go to the hotel’s lounge where they can drink quietly and Miho was already there drinking whiskey.

n“Here.”

nWoojin sat in front of Miho and poured the whiskey into his glass.

n“You wanted to talk about business.”

n“Yeah. I want you to come to China with me.”

n“China?”

nMiho was confused as the business wasn’t what she thought it was going to be.

n“What do you want me there for?”

n“You need to read a memory.”

n“Travel services are expensive.”

nWoojin smiled and looked at Miho.

n“You have three tails, so are you a Sam(Three) Miho now?”

n“What are you talking about? Lee is my last name.”

n“I won’t pay for your travel fees.”

nMiho frowned.

n“Did you call me to play jokes on me?”

n“No, I don’t joke around.”

n“Then we’ve got nothing to talk about. I came because you helped me before, but this is outrageous.”

nMiho stood up and began to walk away. Woojin called her from behind.

n“Miho.”

nMiho stopped and turned her head and Woojin continued, “Your tails. Don’t you want nine of them?”

nMiho flinched. She turned to Woojin and asked, “What did you say?”

n“You saw how you gained an extra tail then.”

n“That’s…”

nMiho couldn’t continue and Woojin poured whiskey into her glass on the table.

n“I’ll make you become a Gu(Nine) Miho. Follow me.”

nMiho bit her lips. She figured that Woojin must know she was the Avatar of Gumiho. But she couldn’t believe he could make such a preposterous claim so confidently.

n“I won’t make the same offer twice. You aren’t the only Avatar who can read memories.”

nMiho then walked up to Woojin and sat in front of him and grabbed the glass. Miho asked, “Are you really not going to pay me a penny?”

n“I have to get paid from you for doing that.”

nWoojin snapped and Miho became disappointed. Woojin smiled. She later gained nine tails in the past. Her true power was finally revealed when she became a Gumiho. She was no longer a memory reader but an ultimate fighter.

nWoojin also fought alongside her so he remembered that she needed to become a Gumiho. This time, he wasn’t going to let her take that long.

nThe next day, Woojin was victorious against the sparring against Yeohong. She had no chance against Woojin with his strength and experience as a hunter.

nWoojin then went to Old Hwang.

n“So you want four hundred grams of Wise Man Herb, two Snowroots, and five Nakjo flowers?”

n“Yeah.”

nWoojin packed the things he bought in the bag and Hwang asked, “Where are you going to use all that?”

n“I need to give it as a present.”

n“Present? I know two of them are good, but the Snowroot contains poison.”

nWoojin did not respond. When he finished packing up, Hwang asked, “Are you going somewhere?”

n“I’m going to China.”

n“China?”

n“Yeah.”

nHwang crossed his arms and asked, “I thought you were going to stay in Korea?”

n“Yeah, but I have some business there.”

n“I see.”

nHwang scratched his cheek. Woojin was a source of excitement in his boring life. Everything he had done and the things he had made him happy. This time, he didn’t sell one of the Daebong Liquor. But it became a concern that Woojin was going to China.

n“When are you coming back?”

n“It might take some time.”

n“I see. That’s a shame.”

nWoojin smiled.

n“I’ll see you when I get back.”

nHwang nodded and Woojin went out. After a while, Hwang picked up the phone.

n“Find out about all flights to China.”

nWoojin met Doctor Ahn. He was more sullen and weary. Woojin was lying down and getting his blood drawn so that the research would not stop.

n“Did you find any that might work against Galf?”

nDoctor Ahn shook his head.

n“I’m trying everything, but nothing seems to be working. I’ll figure it out somehow.”

nWoojin then asked, “What about Somi?”

nDoctor Ahn smiled as he checked Woojin’s blood.

n“I received more knowledge about Avatars. I can now approach everything with more detail. Your blood is helping me with my project.”

n“That’s good.”

n“But I’m not sure if I should go on if considering the amount of pain you went through.”

nNonetheless, he will certainly do it. That was certain. Woojin looked down at his arm. Before he was able to control his body, the needle didn’t even penetrate his veins.

nWoojin got up and Doctor Ahn asked, “So, how long will you take?”

n“It will take a while, but you can call me anytime.”

n“Yeah. I’ll call you when I get something.”

n“Of course.”

nAfter three days, Woojin was inside the private jet that Bihyung had lent him. He glanced at Miho drinking whiskey and turned to the window. He was now stronger than ever.

nChinese land was visible beneath the clouds.

n
