Chapter 34

n“I can’t believe it… That wasn’t that Vampire a noble? I don’t know what it means but doesn’t it mean it’s some sort of big shot?”

n“So, if that’s the case… How in the world did this happen?”

n“Do you think the silver haired Vampires are on our side…?”

nThe group of people stared down the tunnel from the top of the platforms while they whispered. They had a wide look of disbelief on their faces, and with good reason.

nThey felt as though their eyes were playing tricks on them.

nThe purple-haired Vampire noble who had arrived had his back dug into a wall, all of his limbs severed. His underling, Xavier, had clearly defeated him.

n“What… What the… How is this possible…?” The purple haired Vampire noble struggled to ask.

nThe world was spinning around him, his vision was blurry, and he wanted to throw up.

nWhen he looked down, he saw his limbs dettached to his body, lying beneath Xavier’s feet above a pool of blood.

n‘He’s… He’s just a peasant so how? How did none of my attacks work on him?!’

n-Memory

nIt was a short fight, he recalled.

nAfter he’d fail to knock Xavier away with ruptured eardrums in their first exchange, Xavier slashed his dominant hand holding onto the sword off.

nThen whilst unable to wield a weapon, Xavier unleashed a relentless barrage of attacks on him, even though the noble was fast, it was as if Xavier was used to the speed, despite being considerably slower.

nThe rest of the fight was a one-sided beating being dealt on the noble. It wasn’t long before he found himself in his current position.

nThis was only possible because Xavier was wearing earbuds and was immune to the sound manipulation attacks. The only attacks the noble could use with a missing hand and weapon.

n-Memory End.

n‘What the hell is he…?’ He wondered as he watched Xavier slowly approach him.

nAfter slowly turning left, he found Sangrea down the tunnel with the two female twins restrained in chain binds.

n*Crash!*

nA kick from Xavier pounded the wall besides the noble’s head before he sank his feet into it.

n“I have a few questions for you. Answer carefully if you don’t want a painful death.”

nHowever, he said he intended to kill him in order to consume his stats and XP. Knowing that he’d die either way, the noble didn’t want to accept it.

n“Do you know who I am? I’m the son of a viscount! If you kill me, you’ll be hunted throughout the Vampire worl-”

n*SLASH!*

nWhile thrusting his blade’s edge into the Vampire’s mouth, Xavier forced him to groan in pain and shut up.

nXavier pulled out the sword as he said coldly, “I’m asking the questions.”.

nXavier watched as the hole on the noble’s mouth slowly faded away as his skin repaired itself. A noble’s regenerative powers were no joke.

n“Xavi! How much longer do I keep them restrained for?!”

nThanks to the mute field still being active, Sangrea was free to shout however much she wanted without waking up any of the ghouls.

n“Just a while longer, I need to go kill them and devour their blood to grow stronger.”

n“Alright, I’ll be waiting!” She responded happily.

nSangrea seemed to be having a lot of fun being with Xavier, even though what they were doing was… Well, not something to be happy about.

n“Since you won’t tell me anything, I guess I have no use for you. They might know someth-”

nXavier was interrupted by the noble who suddenly said.

n“Don’t… Hurt them. I’ll tell you what you want to know…”

nThe vampires who were restrained down the tunnel, as well as Sangrea, heard his words clearly because of their incredible hearing senses.

nTears streamed down their eyes as they called out to him.

n“Young master Zaos! Don’t worry about us, focus on getting yourself away!” Yelled out the long ivory haired twin.

n“Young master Zaos!!! Please! We’d never forgive ourse-”

n*Snap*

nOnce more, Sangrea snapped her fingers, shutting their mouths with the shadow binds and interrupting them. She watched their tears stream down their faces before leaning against the tunnel’s walls and shutting her eyes.

n‘I don’t know about the noble but these two seem like they were just following orders and watching over him. Will Xavi really kill them?’ She wondered.

nIgnoring the events which had unfolded around them, Xavier pulled his leg out of the wall before questioning the noble.

n“For starters, tell me about the vampire camp you were planning on taking everyone to.”

nA smile grew on the noble’s face.

n“You have business in the camp? If you do, it’s best to give up on it… Even though you beat me, it’s because my guard was lowered and you’d somehow prepared against my ability beforehand… But in a camp, there aren’t any lowered guards.”

n“There’s ears everywhere you go, it’s big but you can’t hide anything there… Why do you think the humans that enter can never escape?”

n“If you try any funny ** like you did with me and fail, you’ll die.”

nXavier let out a sigh.

n“So?” He asked.

nThe noble stared at Xavier’s expression, not an ounce of fear could be seen beneath his eyes.

nSeeing it, he couldn’t help but laugh.

n“Haha… Hahaha… I was wondering why I lost, but now I’m certain of it…”

n“You’re bat** insane… Does death not scare you?” The Vampire asked.

nXavier didn’t respond to his question and instead glared at him, waiting for a response of his own.

n“Very well… I’ll tell you where the closest Vampire Camp is…”

n–

n–

n–

n“Is that all?” Xavier asked before placing the edge of his blade over the Vampire’s heart.

nBlood had stopped flowing out of his limbs they had closed, but it appeared that was all it was limited to. He couldn’t regenerate an entire limb regardless of how much time had passed.

nHe’d only be able to if someone applied the limb to the part where it was severed.

n“Yeah, that’s all. I wouldn’t lie with their lives at stake.”

nXavier didn’t know why but it appeared that those twins were important to the noble in some way, he recalled him saving them twice when Xavier attacked them in his ghoulified state.

nVampires also had families which were precious to them.

nSangrea watched as Xavier prepared to thrust the sword into the noble’s heart.

n‘Xavi’s changed… The Xavi I knew would never hurt a fly… I guess this just shows how much his family means to him…’

n‘I wonder if I’ll ever mean that much to Xavi…’ Sangrea wondered.

n“Before you kill me, do you mind answering one last question?” The noble asked.

n“Depends on what it is.”

n“That vampire girl that was with you, your wife, her ability is insanely powerful….”

n“Yeah.”

nThe noble looked over at her once more and seemed to recall something.

n‘Long silver hair… A long black dress… I thought it was just a coincidence but…’

nSound Manipulation: Mute.

nXavier noticed a change in the sounds around him, he could no longer here the people’s whispers or heartbeat.

n“Don’t worry, I’ve blocked out any sounds from reaching outside of here. No one else around will here us.”

n“That wife of yours… What’s her name…?”

nXavier was confused at his question, did he recognise her somehow? If so, this was a great opportunity for him to learn more about his wife.

n“Sangrea, Sangrea redblood.”

nThe Noble’s eyes widened.

n“…Redblood… Redblood, huh… Hahaha… You really are insane.” He asked once more, even more terrified of Xavier than previously.”

n“Do you know something about her?” Xavier asked.

n“Who doesn’t…? I’ll give you a piece of advice… Keep her out of whatever madness you’re planning and if you don’t, don’t let anyone know who she is…”

nXavier stared daggers at the noble, it didn’t seem like he was lying, rather he was genuinely terrified of Sangrea’s and her background.

n“What happens if I don’t?” Xavier asked

nThe noble grinned at his question. “Who knows? I still don’t know how you knew about my weakness, earbuds. Since i’m going to die curious, you might as well experience the same.”

n“…”
