Chapter 44

nAs he glanced at the bridge through the small cell window, a Vampire asked, “Do you really think someone would be crazy enough to take two hostages with the Vampire Lord here?”.
nThe Vampire was inside of an old broken down and open prison, before him were countless chained men whom they soon planned to execute.
n“Maybe they don’t know, in which case they’re **ed. on top of that, we have countless weak but competent Vampires positioned on sight, they’d never even be able to-”
n*VBOOOM!!!*
nSuddenly, a dark pressure blew towards the Vampires interrupting him. A beam of dark light had shot up towards the rocky ceiling of the Vampire camp’s cave from one of the empty houses across the bridge.
nTheir eyes widened as they peered through the barred windows at the source of the beam.
nOut of one of the houses emerged the silhouette of a giant dark shadowy bird. On top of the bird were four figures.
n“What the-”
n*BANG!*
nAs the doors banged open, the two Vampires in the room were dumbfounded. There came a Vampire running in with a desperate look on his face.
n“The intruders are soaring through the camp heading towards the main building. “All units are to proceed to the main palace!” He yelled with a desperate look before running out and informing the others.
nThey looked at each other before grabbing their swords and rushing out, leaving the prisoners alone in the room.
nAfter the Vampires left, all the prisoners immediately began looking for ways to escape. Their clothes were stripped from them and they were chained up by the arms and legs.
n“Fuck… My injuries are still burning…”
n“I’m going to kill those **ers… They took our family and kids…!”
nFor many reasons, these men were kept there and tortured instead of being turned into a blood bag.
nThe most common one was that they had retaliated against the vampires to protect their family and were captured whilst doing so.
nMost were killed, they were the only survivors and their deaths were soon to come.
n“Fuck… They made the shackles too tight and took the keys…”
n“Did anyone else here awaken some sort of power? Mine isn’t useful for a situation like this… Hell they drained us of our energy, I wouldn’t be able to use it even if I tried.”
nAs the prisoners struggled to find ways to escape, a black haired man with a shredded physique remained motionless with his head hung. A red bandage covered his left shoulder, where his arm had been severed by a Vampire.
n“Hey you… Don’t just sit there and help us…! What sort of ability did you unlock? Now’s our chance!”
nHe ignored him and remained motionless.
n“Leave him be… Look at his eyes… He’s already lost all hope…”
nThen, as their attention shifted back to finding a way out, something strange happened to him. Suddenly, there was a slight distortion in the air.
nHis eyes glowed dark as he slowly raised his head, bringing them into full view.

n“Xavi!! We’re almost there!!” Said with hair swaying strongly against the wind.
nThey were perched atop a giant bird clouded in shadows, soaring over a bridge. Beneath them were countless Vampire’s pointing their weapons and firing at them.
nVarious abilities were launched at the flying bird, but it avoided them by swaying left and right in the air, even doing a barrel roll as it approached its destination.
nAs soon as they crossed the bridge, they were at their destination. The palace.
n*FWOOSH!*
nIt flapped its wings vigorously before stopping in the air above, sending strong gusts of wind.
nWhen the shadow bird transformed into a giant sphere engulfing its passengers before falling to the ground, the Vampires eyes widened in surprise.
n“Incoming!!!” A Vampire yelled as they all rushed away from the palace’s entrance.
n*CRASH!*
nThe giant shadow ball crashed into the ground, cracking and sending tremors throughout the area.
n“Surround it!!”
nBefore readying their weapons, the Vampires surrounded the sphere with their weapons in hand.
n“Atta-”
n*FWOOSH!*
nFour figures were suddenly thrown out of the sphere over the Vampire formation straight through the palace doors.
nIn just seconds, Sangrea closed the door with the snap of her fingers, enclosing them in darkness as she covered the door with shadows.
nAfter doing so, Sangrea turned to the center of the room where Xavier was standing. Before him were two Vampires, one was blue lilac haired Vampire, and the other was a midnight green haired Vampire who held a superior presence.
nBoth were powerful, and Xavier easily recognized them. Having spent so much time torturing one of them, it was impossible for him to have forgotten.
nIt was Arnold and the Vampire Lord of the camp.
nXavier looked around and noticed the other four nobles from the previous rewind weren’t here. It appears they hadn’t arrived.
n‘Looks like rushing here was the best bet… If it’s just the two of them…’
nWhile getting ready to engage, Sangerea began to crack her fingers. Her shadow began squirming around.
n“Wow… Silver hair and bright red eyes with a dark dress… It really is you Sangrea Redblood. I heard rumours of you being sealed and weak… This pressure… It doesn’t feel weak at all to me…”
n“Quite bold of you though isn’t it? To make an enemy of the ca-”
n“Shut up.”
nXavier interrupted as he walked towards them.
n“Come again?” Arnold asked as he directed a glare at Xavier.
nXavier extended his arms as he approached them, dragging the edges of the blade across the ground.
n“Sangrea, remember what I told you up in the air?” Xavier asked.
nHer instructions were to depart with his family through the transportation mirror and to keep them safe until he arrived. The two before her were powerful, so she was hesitant to do so and leave Xavier on his own.
n‘Although they’re no match for me… I doubt that Xavier who has yet to become a fully fledged Vampire can-‘
nSangrea’s eyes widened.
n‘Wait… Xavier drank the blood of a human back at the station… Why hasn’t he become a fully fledged Vampire yet?’
nSangrea was unaware of the system or it’s ability to delay and manifest more improved evolutions. She hadn’t found it strange before because so much was going on but now that she had thought about it.
n“Sangrea, what are you still doing here? Go.”
nSangrea’s figure vanished along with his mother and sister’s who were on her shoulder. They entered a shadow before appearing by the top of the staircase right beside the mirror.
n*Pfft*
nThe Vampire Lord suddenly snorted before Xavier’s eyes before showing him a confused look. “Are you… Crazy? You think you stand a chance at defeating me and a noble?”
nIgnoring his words, Xavier stared at the two wheels manifested beside him. In the middle of the wheels were a giant button which read Spin.
nOther Level Up Options are still available.
nXavier had decided to save those for Full Body Recovery. He knew he was going to need them.
nXavier grinned as he was now only a few steps away from them.
n“You Vampires just never stop talking… Even a Vampire Lord who’s ranked the lowest of the low is all bark and no bite.”
n“Then there’s his bitch beside him waiting for a chance to take over his position.”
nVeins bulged out the side of both the Vampire’s necks as Xavier gazed at them with cold eyes.
n“Come.”
n*CLANG!*
n
