Chapter 58

nSangrea nodded before getting up. She was being quite quiet and less flirtatious around Xavier. Xavier who noticed this wondered if something was wrong.

nBut after watching her for a while, he noticed that she was occasionally sneaking glasses at his mother and sister with a nervous look on her face.

n‘Ah… She’s being shy.’ Xavier realised.

n“Young lady, may we proceed?” The butler questioned as he sent her a glance.

n“Of course.” Sangrea responded after sending Xavier a glance.

n“Well then, let’s-”

n*BZZOOMT!!*

nIn that instant, a bolt of lightning passed right by the barrier, barely scraping against it before propelling itself up into the clouds.

nThe Vampires eyes all widened as they glanced down at the barrier.

nAt the bottom a group of Vampires could be seen standing outside the Underground Station’s staircase.

nAhead of the group was a young boy with a mask on his face. He was in a throwing stance, indicating that he was the one who launched the attack.

n“Oops, I missed.” Said the young boy with a giggle.

n“But that’s fine… After all, I’ve finally found you, Redblood.” He muttered with a grin behind his mask.

n“I won’t be missing this one…”

nExcept for Xavier and his family, the other Vampires on the platform instantly recognised who the young boy was.

n“Urgh… It’s him…” Muttered Sangrea with a disgusted look.

nThe young boy swung his arms a few times, practising the motion of a throw before getting back into his stance, and pulling his arm back.

nHis eyes locked onto the giant platform in the middle of the air before he took a few steps back. High Voltage Lightning Currents flowed through his arm as he took in a deep breath.

n“Heave…”

nLightning Manipulation…

nHe closed his open hand, clenching down on it tightly. At that moment a burst of lightning struck the surrounding ground, breaking and shattering it upon contact.

nA rod made purely of lightning could be seen forming in between his hands, expanding with every passing second. While this happened, he began to jog forwards.

nAnd after a few steps, once he finally found his rhythm, veins bulged out of his tiny arms before he swung them forward.

n*VBZOOM!*

nLightning Javelin.

nBarrier Manipulation: Dense Hexagonal Layout

nA giant bolt of lightning was launched out of his arms towards the barrier, at unforeseeable speeds. It resembled a javelin with it’s pointy edge and long slim body.

nAt the same time, countless hexagonal barriers formed in the air, linking with one another to create an even denser barrier.

n*BAM!* *SHATTER!*

nThe butler’s eyes widened, javelin of lightning pierced and shattered right through the barrier.

n‘It wasn’t able to fully condense itself in time-‘

n*VBOOM!*

nThe butler’s thought was interrupt as the javelin pierced right into the centre of the barrier platform. It had almost managed to pierce completely through.

n*Crack* *Crack*

nDespite not having done so however, many cracks had spread from the centre of the platform all the way over to the edge. It could break at any second, forcing them all to plummet to the ground.

n“This has become quite troublesome…” Muttered the maid before looking over at Viera. “Now is good time for us to start running as you mentioned previously.”

nThe butler adjusted his glasses, and in that instant, another giant barrier, just a slightly bit smaller than the current one manifested west of them.

n“Go.” Said the butler as he extended out his arms.

nElaine, Viera, Sangrea, the maid and the Vampire Defence squad all ran along onto the next platform.

nXavier on the other hand, had stayed behind.

n“Why are you still here…?” Asked the butler.

nXavier crouched down by the platform’s edge, looking down at the group below him from above.

n“I’m going to go deal with them real quick. Stay up here and keep my family safe.”

nThose were Xavier’s last words as he leaned over the edge.

nJust before he could fall however-

n*Grab*

nHe was grabbed by the collar preventing him from falling as he leaned across the edge. Xavier’s collar was quite slippery however from all the rain. If he hadn’t held on properly, Xavier would have fallen.

n“Huh? What was that for, head butler?” Xavier asked.

nThe butler had veins bulging out from his neck.

n“One… I don’t take order from you… And two, that young boy’s a marquess. More specifically, the son of one.”

nA confused expression grew on Xavier’s face as he tilted his head to the side.

n“So? Look, that **er is already winding up for another attack. It’s easier to devour him-”

nXavier was interrupted by the butler who let out a sigh.

n“You have quite the foul mouth, don’t you? The problem isn’t dealing with him. If we fight and kill him, we’ll end up in an even worse relationship with the other noble families.”

n“On top of that, the noise from the fight might attract other nobles to the area and there’s still a chance he’s called for back-up.”

n“Do you really want to take that risk?”

nXavier looked over at the young boy who was on the verge of charging up another explosive attack.

nXavier sighed, before grabbing a hold of the butler’s arm and pulling himself back onto the platform.

n“My bad, I lost my cool.” Muttered Xavier before leaping over to the other platform.

nXavier’s leap had taken him all the way over to his sister’s side, surprising her and his mother as he looked like he was soaring from their perspective.

n‘Not even the world’s best athletes can do that… Is every Vampire able to do this? Or is my brother just stronger than most?’

n‘How strong even is he-‘

n*VBBZZZT!!!*

n*SHATTER!*

nThe platform which they had been previously standing on was suddenly shattered as a rod of lightning passed through.

nThe rod continued to ascend before disappearing into the clouds.

n“That was close-”

n*VBMOOOM!*

nViera’s words were interrupted by the sound of thunder striking down from the clouds where the rod had entered.

n“…”

nBefore she could say anything else, she was dragged off by Elaine and Sangrea who suddenly grabbed a hold of her pulled her towards the next platform which the butler created.

nXavier who chased after them from behind was visibly annoyed.

n“Getting outdone by someone shorter than me when I’m already short pisses me off…” He quietly muttered.

n‘That’s what you’re worried about!?’ The thought struck all their minds simultaneously.

n
