Chapter 1308 The New Jared

‘Is that… Jared?’

Legris was silent—no, not just him.

Everything was quiet, in an absolute lull, as the being that emerged from multicolored light manifested himself in glory.

The one cloaked in indescribable darkness felt perplexed as he stared at the newcomer.

He had long, blond hair. Based on his appearance, he looked to be in his mid-twenties, and his regal appearance caused him to appear majestic.

His pure eyes had a charm to it that made it impossible to look away, almost as if hidden within was a depth that couldn’t be fathomed.

Legris did not understand this person.

He couldn’t.

“Are you… Jared Leonard?” He asked, his brows raised in both suspicion and caution.

Something about the lad’s appearance made him uncomfortable.

Even after the question, the man in front of him did not respond.

It seemed like his eyes were staring at something else—

something far more distant.

“You’ve changed a lot. What have you become?” Legris something far more distant.

“You’ve changed a lot. What have you become?” Legris spoke once again, hoping to get a response this time.

Once again, the man refused to speak.

“I don’t like being ignored. But if it’s going to be like this, then…” Legris shifted his attention to the sphere that hovered above his palm.

It had more than enough ‘Nothingness’ to finish everyone off.

“… Enjoy.”

He thrust the swirling orb towards the regal man, a wide grin on his crooked face.

~WHOOOOOOOSSSSHHHHH!!!~

The darkness approached him at a fast rate, expanding at an astronomical rate.

Like a balloon, it seemed to cover more ground… all within a tiny fraction of a single moment.

This Seed Of The End had enough properties to consume everything in this Realm, and it wasn’t even a contention.

Legris comfortably watched as his power would destroy everything and cause the last of his opponents to cease existing.

However, it didn’t end up as easy as he thought.

‘Huh? It stopped?’

The Seed Of The End was suspended, as if stuck in one frame of time, unable to jump to the next.

~FSSSSHHHIIIIIIII!!!~

The inflated orb suddenly began to deflate as soon as it stopped, rapidly reducing in its hollow mass.

Right before Legris’ eyes, it became as little as a tiny speck.

Until… it vanished completely.

‘No. Not quite. It’s shrinking infinitely.’ Legris noticed as his widened eyes perceived all that was occurring.

It had just reduced beyond the point of perception.

“How did you—?”

Before Legris could complete his question, the man before him moved his body for the first time since Legris addressed him.

He placed his hand on his chin, almost as if contemplating something.

“Your question… it should be the other way around.”

His eyes slowly shifted to Legris’ stunned demeanor, and they made eye contact.

“You’ve changed a lot, Legris…” There was no smile on the young man’s face.

Instead, he had a slight frown as he stared at Legris.

It felt like he was gazing upon an abomination—an anomaly that wasn’t supposed to be.

“… What have you become?”

For the first time since his rebirth, Legris was met with condescension.

There was no fear, concern, or worry in the eyes of the man who stared at him.

There was only disgust.

“I have become perfect.” Legris responded with a smile on his face.

“I see. You merged all properties of your fragmented selves to one component. Completion by Amalgamation. It seems I missed a lot.”

The words of the man echoed in the vastness of the Constellation Realm.

However, Legris only chuckled.

“Indeed. Seems like you have a lot of catching up to do—!”

“One moment…” Raising his hand, the man spoke gently.

He closed his eyes for a moment and flicked it open in no time at all. His flowing hair seemingly danced with the wind, and he heaved a sigh.

“I’m all caught up.”

“I see. You sent your mind back in time to observe all that happened leading up to this point, didn’t you?” Legris answered with a cackle.

“Every single frame.”

“Oh…?”

Legris had only meant that as a joke, but to think his opponent was really serious about it.

He could only imagine the kind of properties he had to be made of to allow for such processing power.

“You killed Z’ark and Gerard. Stefan and Ciel are also gone, it seems…”

If Legris was doubting his words, this person had just confirmed he spoke the truth.

He said everything as it happened.

“You’re Jared, aren’t you? You seem different, but…”

A brief moment of silence enveloped the two of them, and no one said anything for a moment.

The unconscious ones made no sound, and the blank reality was hollow.

Nothing and no one moved, talkless of spoke.

Until…

“Yes. I am Jared.” The blond one responded.

He still had a serious expression on his face, not borne from caution or worry, but of something deeper.

“You’ve caused a lot of pain and suffering, Legris. My friends and allies did their best to stop you, but… apparently it wasn’t enough.”

“And? What about it?”

Legris gave a mocking grin as he stared at Jared.

“What else is new?”

This was his nature, after all. Ever since he was exposed as an antagonist—no, even far before that—he had committed horrors that transcended human malice.

Nothing much had changed.

“You can’t go back to change it. You can’t alter anything. So I ask you, Jared…” Wagging his tongue, Legris taunted in absolute confidence.

“… What are you going to do about it?”

Upon hearing his question, Jared narrowed his gaze and creased his brows slightly.

Silent tension danced around him as he seemed to be in contemplation of the question he was asked.

However, his silence wasn’t permanent.

After a few seconds, he opened his lips to respond.

“I suppose you’re about to find out.”

That was the only answer he could give.

After spending an eternity preparing for this moment, Jared had no intention of losing.

‘Everything ends now.’
