Chapter 25 - Trial Of Control [3]

nKlautz tapped his foot. With his head tilting back he was looking up.
nHe had provided a proposal to Dant but he refused to make a quick decision.
nIn this world where everyone is in a dog fight how can one survive if one can't make quick decisions?
nKlautz was impatient. He was done waiting for him.
n
"I don't have all day, and neither is the deal valid forever. If you want take it, if you don't it's up to you.
"
nKlautz smirked as his eyes travelled over Dant from top to bottom. Dant flinched as he was getting more and more scared and unsure. The black serpent had planted fear in his heart, a fear so deep that it made him consider the unthinkable!
nIs it so easy to sacrifice your people?
nMaybe yes for some and no for others. Dant used to fall under the 'no' category but now he had to reconsider.
nIn his heart of heart he still wanted to deny Klautz but…
nKlautz got impatient and threw a hook to entice him more.
n
"You won't be able to survive if you are so indecisive. Well, whatever I am leaving if you can't decide. Consider that I had never proposed the deal in the first place.
"
nKlautz shrugged raising his arm. He had the poker expression that he didn't care whether Dant dies or not.
nAnd true to that, he didn't care. He considered saving one of them as his goal which doesn't necessarily need to be Dant.
n
"Wait! I… I will do it. Whatever you said.
"
nKlautz lips arched to a fitting smile.
n'Well, that solves a lot of hassle.'
nWith this Klautz knows what kind of person Dant is.
nSelfish.
nFor the sake of saving his own life, he is willing to take part in any means possible.
n'I guess most people are like that,' Klautz thought.
nHe had a lot of encounters in his past life and most men were willing to do anything to save themselves.
n'To be honest, it is better to die here than survive.'
nThat is what Klautz believes. Considering the hell that was waiting for them on the other side of hell, it was better to be killed here. You would not have to suffer if you die here. It would be a painless death.
nKlautz too would have killed himself the moment he was reborn. The trauma from his past life was just that deeply etched in his heart.
nBut, he chose not to.
nKlautz couldn't be wishful and conclude that other people were reborn like him as well. As such Klautz was the only person who knew the future. The only person who knew of the defeat of humans in the war against the demons and also the only one who could change the future. How could he let himself die with such high stakes?
nKlautz shook his head.
n'I cannot die, I have to live!'
n
"Emm, so what do I have to do now?
"
nKlautz consciousness was pulled back to reality by the man in front of him. The blood in his forehead had clotted which had stopped his loss of blood. He fumbled as his eyes met Klautz. A fear of the man in front of him who he had deemed as devil. A form of connection of subservience that had formed without him asking for it.
n
"Go and tell all your friends we will move on to the next stage now!
" Klautz said.
n
"Now? Why so soon? We a have a 30-minute break…
"
n
"It's cause I am leaving now. Do you guys want to fight the second stage boss all by yourselves? You could barely manage the first stage boss. Haha.
"
nKlautz laughed out aloud.
nHis laughter could be heard even by Dant's team members afar. They had fixed their gaze on the laughing Klautz who couldn't help but hold onto his stomach.
nOn the other hand, Dant was left perturbed. From the way Klautz used his words it seemed to him that the second stage boss won't be any easier and they cannot defeat it without his help. Klautz had the aura of confidence that was shouting to him that he could do anything while they cannot.
n
"No, wait… Don't go. I am telling them to come. I am sure they would.
"
n'How would I persuade them to move onto the next stage? They are injured! It's gonna be damn tough' Dant thought.
nNo matter how much Dant denies it. It will always remain true that his team had reached this situation due to his bad leadership. If he had not taken such a bad decision they will be enjoying their feasts back in the safe zone. It was because he wanted to check out this trial for treasures that they were in such a critical situation.
nIn the forest of beginnings, there are multiple safe points for the summoned groups. And multiple people were summoned at a single safe point. Dant and his group belonged to a completely different safe point.
nDant and his group were summoned together. After many battles, he was jointly recognized as their leader. But one wrong decision spoiled it all. His group doesn't trust him as much as they did before.
nNow, whether they will accept his proposal of moving onto the next trial? Only time can tell.
n
