nChapter 10 – Who Did It? (被誰打的?)

nWhen Qiao Weimin hit Jing Yunzhao, he had used a lot of strength. If she hadn’t been facing this level of strength since young, she wouldn’t have been able to endure it. The reason why she did nothing about her face for the past two days was to let the teacher see it clearly.

nInside the space, the pain would fade away, but her injury would remain in the same state. Thus, it remained clearly visible.

n“Teacher, I was stopped by a bunch of hooligans on Friday. They surrounded me and refused to let me go. They even pretended to act familiar with me on purpose. I was then dragged into an alleyway. If it weren’t for a passing policeman, I don’t know what would’ve had happened to me. However, it is my bad luck to be targeted by them. I don’t blame anyone but those hooligans. What I don’t know is who’s been spreading rumours about me, saying that I’ve been sleeping with them…”

n“Were they the ones who hit you?” Teacher Jin frowned as she asked.

nHer injury didn’t seem light. Two to three days had already passed, but the injury was still red and swollen, there were even signs of it bruising. It can be said that the strength put into it must not be light.

n“No… Those people only tried to scare me and I fainted afterwards… This injury…” Jing Yunzhao’s expression showed a hint of sorrow but continued, “is from my dad…”

nOnce she spoke, all the teachers present felt a chill go down their backs.

nJing Yunzhao was the student with the best grades in the entire school. Her family’s internal affairs were all likely to be scrutinized, thus they all knew that she had a stepfather named Qiao Weimin.

nIf he were her biological father, he’d never be that violent with her.

nTeacher Jin had a flash of understanding and stood up, “He hit you? Why? Jing Yunzhao, tell teacher everything. Just what happened in the end? Did you do something that made him mad?”

n“It was nothing actually. It was just because of a bowl of porridge. It had gone cold and I was afraid of upsetting my stomach. I didn’t want it to affect the test today, so I went and got a new bowl instead. In a moment of anger, my dad slapped me, telling me to drink it all,” Jing Yunzhao answered casually as if the matter was insignificant in her eyes.

nBut those words meant different things in the ears of the teachers.

nWhat kind of seniors would let their juniors drink cold porridge? Was Jing Yunzhao’s treatment at home that bad? She couldn’t even drink fresh and warm porridge.

n“Then… Ji-Jing Yunzhao… Did your mom not try to stop him? And your siblings too…” Teacher Jin inquired doubtfully.

nJing Yunzhao sniffed, “My mom’s body isn’t doing so well, she won’t care about small things like these. Also, it’s only a minor problem, drinking a bowl of cold porridge wouldn’t kill me. Even if my mom knew, she still wouldn’t say anything… Teacher Jing, I’m already used to the things at home. It’s not a big issue. Those hooligans, however… If something like that were to happen again, can the school call the police for me?”

nShe was only 15 this year. Other than home, the only thing she could rely on was the school. If she were to show herself and call the police on her own like a fool, she’d only be made fun of if she didn’t manage to get the warrant.?

nSeeing a sudden light of hope in Jing Yunzhao’s eyes, Teacher Jing’s hearted trembled violently.

nThis child was never talkative in school, but for some reason, there were many comments about her from other students, The most common one was about how she was haughty and the like.

nBut the strange thing was, all the teachers in the school liked her.

nShe was quiet, hard-working, and they had never seen her bully or look down upon anyone. If it weren’t for her outstanding grades, people would probably not notice her existence.

n“Don’t worry, the school wouldn’t just sit by and ignore something so major. Go back and prepare for the test. I’ll discuss with the Principal. We will definitely report the matter to the police, I’ll never let something like this happen again!”

n
