Chapter 282 - The Smell Of A Conspiracy (陰謀的味道)
282- The Smell Of A Conspiracy (陰謀的味道)
The villagers all stepped forward to exhibit the injuries they had suffered how unfilial and disobedient Jing Yun Zhao was.
However, they never thought they would lose control of the situation. The reporters now turned their attacks towards them, causing them to fall into a state of chaos.
“Are you and Jing Tie Jun neighbours that get along very well? Then do they actually have a daughter that was thrown away?” one of the reporters asked.
“Yes, yes. Their mother did it…”
“Then, did Wang Xin Fang go out to look for her then? Did Mother-in-law Jing state clearly where she left her?” the reporter continued questioning.
Being asked something like this, the villager stiffened and remembered some strange things. Every household in the village wished for sons so they could raise them when they were old and send them off1, so daughters didn’t come off as noble as sons. After having more children, there were some girls that were given away to others, and there were even some that secretly threw their children away.
However, it was mostly the older generation that would be so cruel to throw them away directly. After all, the child’s mother carried them for 10 months, so they definitely wouldn’t be able to accept it so early on.
Although, Wang Xin Fang then…seemingly…didn’t have too much of a reaction?
“I think she looked for about a day…” the same villager thought back.
They themselves blanked out the moment they said it. They indeed searched for a day, but there was no more news from them by the second day, as if the child didn’t exist anymore…
“One day?” even the reporter stared blankly.
Meanwhile, the reporters around them smelled the scent of a conspiracy; the villager had leaked something. They previously said they heard an elderly that was familiar with Mother-in-law Jing mention it, that after the child was left in the mountains, she had probably died…
Most people were shocked into a daze by that fact.
If the Jing family’s child had already died, why did they still come forward to recognize their kin? This can no longer be something as simple as finding the wrong person, can it?
Unfortunately, the villager only said it by accident and had no basis to back it up. As for how it happened exactly, everyone could only use their imagination to fill in the blanks.
Actually, more than half of the villagers were quite guileless; they honestly thought that Jing Yun Zhao was Jing Tie Jun’s daughter. That’s why they thought her listening to her parents was par for the course, and also why they would be willing to help the Jing family in this chaos. However, everyone
/the big guy was saying it wasn’t true. After they disregarded the relationship with the Jing family, they too started to process it, all of them thinking that it wasn’t likely.
The moment they found out they were being lied to, it wouldn’t be strange if most of the villagers weren’t angry.
“Wang Xin Fang! Just what kind of intentions are you harbouring? Is this girl actually your family’s daughter? You better not be lying to us to make us harm someone else!
“Yeah! You said you had a paternity test done so we believed you. We only supported you financially because of our many years as neighbours…”
“Didn’t you swear that as long as we came, you would give all of us 100 yuan each? Now that things have come to this, are you still going to pay us…”
The incessant criticism practically made Wang Xin Fang want to vomit blood.
Weren’t these people all just helping her a second ago? Now their elbows were all bending inwards2, their decades spent together as fellow villagers were all for nothing!
“Wang Xin Fang, as long as I find a lawyer after this, I’d be able to use just the certificate in your hands to get the hospital that issued it to apologize to me. The doctor that helped in the forgery would also not be able to escape. By then, how do you think that doctor will explain himself? There are some people they wouldn’t dare offend, but you would definitely be thrown out into the dirt. At that point, your claim will turn into a scam! Neither you nor your husband will be able to run away, and by then, your son…”
Jing Yun Zhao hadn’t finished speaking when she was cut off by the middle aged woman ferociously embracing her son and shouting, “Don’t you dare touch my son!”
“I’ll speak!” Wang Xin Fang stared hatefully at Jing Yun Zhao, as if she had a bone-deep grudge with her.
