Chapter 285 - A Huge Help (幫了大忙)
285- A Huge Help (幫了大忙)
The large spectacle had now become a joke. When Jing Yun Zhao took a stride towards the school grounds, everyone relaxed and cut a sorry figure as they each left in their own directions.
“It’s finally over…Yun Zhao, it was really too close for comfort this time. Thank goodness Li Shao Yun already gave you that report early on, otherwise we wouldn’t have been able to get out of this even if we had ten mouths,” Xiao Hai Qing sighed as she and Su Chu accompanied Jing Yun Zhao to the infirmary so they could help her take care of her wound.
Su Chu nodded her head to express her agreement.
These people were really too scary, especially when they carried an attitude that screamed they were here to uphold justice. They behaved as if everyone’s resistance towards it were sinister and immoral, and thus the people themselves were wicked beyond redemption. If it weren’t for the fact that she had the most favourable evidence in her hands, wouldn’t they practically have swallowed her alive?
What’s more, if she didn’t have the report…
Those people would have been able to enforce their blood relationship as a fact.
If Jing Yun Zhao was forced to cooperate and admit she was wrong, everyone would harshly criticize her to the point where they might even watch over her every move for the next while. If she didn’t cooperate, they similarly wouldn’t let her go. That would inevitably end up in another stir-fried mess, letting her become the target of everyone’s cutting remarks.
Anyway, no matter what she did, under the eyes of these upholders of justice, she would be in the wrong.
Even if they revealed the real paternity report afterwards, no one would believe it was real. Plus, the heat of the situation would have already passed. No one would pay any more attention or importance towards the things that happened afterwards when their sense of justice was already satisfied by the gossip in the beginning.
This also meant that Jing Yun Zhao would have to carry the misunderstandings of everyone in the world for the rest of her life.
“Bias-jie, you have to properly thank that Shao Yun person. He was a huge help!” Su Chu’s thankfulness was evident on her face.
She then looked at Jing Yun Zhao’s wound and pursed her lips, “Biao-jie, why didn’t you dodge? This is going to scar your face for a long while…”
Other than this wound on Biao-jie’s face, there’s no other blemish, plus her skin was getting better and better. The one behind all this is really too evil!
Jing Yun Zhao looked up and shared a smile with Xiao Hai Qing.
“Chu Chu, Yun Zhao didn’t suffer this injury for nothing.” Xiao Hai Qing spoke as her movements gentled.
Everyone would remember the humiliation and pain she suffered in that moment. The vibrant red of her blood would be something that would forever be etched into their memories.
Additionally, with that many cameras and reporters, and even the parents who stood outside the circle and used their phones to record the entire thing, they wouldn’t have to personally look for the mastermind. There would naturally be someone who’d do it for them.
“You think it’s already over, right?” Xiao Hai Qing asked Su Chu with a smile.
Su Chu was confused, “Yes?”
Those reporters had all run away with their tails tucked between their legs and the so-called ‘warm-hearted’ netizens had also left as if it wasn’t related to them. The only ones left were those surrounding the Jing family demanding them to return the money they contributed, completely not their problem.
Su Chu liked to only think about things on the surface, but she wasn’t stupid, and with the reminder from Xiao Hai Qing, her eyes instantly shone.
“It’s not that things haven’t ended, but that they’ve just begun!” Su Chu showed a soft and cute smile in surprise, laughing in soft little ‘hehe’s.
“That right, it’s just begun,” Jing Yun Zhao’s lips curved, her eyes cold yet calm.
The three girls sensed each other’s intentions and said no more. Meanwhile, Gan Jin Chen, Tang Zi Hua, and Qi Da Yong had arrived to check up on Jing Yun Zhao and found out that even though the wound on her head bled quite a bit just now, it didn’t seem too serious. It would heal given time.
When those reporters ambushed them, the three boys who had a good relationship with Jing Yun Zhao wanted to step forward to protect her, but who dared?
Everyone knew that the appearance of a male student would not only not provide her with any help whatsoever, but instead would tarnish her name. That’s why they all only watched on from afar.
