Chapter 307 - Sore Loser (輸不起)
307- Sore Loser (輸不起)
The employee also knew to not share too much as she kept quiet after her short rant.
The employee ranted to the wife as she was known throughout the whole neighbourhood for being a gossip. The story she heard from someone would be spread and blown out of proportion by the next day.
To no one’s surprise, when the lady saw the employee return to the Yu Ling Tea Pavilion, she instantly stood up and started gossiping with her acquaintances excitedly.
The business of the Jiang Family’s tea pavilion used to be booming, causing them to be arrogant and condescending. However the tea pavilion was practically a ghost town for the past two months, causing many people to eagerly wait for them to make a joke out of themselves. Moreover, now that the Jiang Family’s mother-son duo was up to something in the Yu Ling Tea Pavilion, how could people not gossip about them?
For a moment, there was uproar all around.
Not only is their tea pavilion losing money, they still had the audacity to cause problems at other people’s business? These types of people… are only able to accept winning and don’t have the ability to accept their loss.
One shouldn’t look down on the power of gossip amongst neighbours.
Take for example some customers from different shops wanted to drink some tea, yet they can’t decide which tea pavilion was better, at that moment, the neighbours would start gossiping about which was better.
Especially on the opening day of the Yu Ling Tea Pavilion, causing many customers to ask about the situation.
“You’re asking about that tea pavilion? It opened recently, and I heard that the tea there was so tasty, to the point that even those stingy people from the First Tea Pavilion went there…” Similar words like this were heard throughout the day.
While the Jing Family’s mother-son duo was unaware of the spreading rumours and were still sitting there drinking tea.
Although the Jiang Family sold tea, Mother Jiang disliked drinking tea as she much rather drink some sweet soup than experience the bitter taste of tea.
Now the amount of tea she drank from the 2 pots was enough to make her want to puke.
However, that wasn’t important as she felt the current atmosphere in the hall was weird.
The customers here were different from the customers they were used to receiving. The customers here had serious expressions and they were all wearing business suits with ties, as if they were not here to relax but to attend an important occasion.
“Mom, this tea isn’t even tasty, why is it so expensive?” Jiang Xia said straightforwardly.
Thank god that they didn’t need to pay this time, or they would’ve been really unlucky.
No wonder our family’s business is getting worse as time passes, who would drink something like this anyways? Shouldn’t we keep up with the trends by opening a coffee shop instead.
Mother Jiang gave him a glance and replied, “You don’t understand, some refined people loved to drink this.”
She remembered the customers in their shop said that drinking tea could let someone experience the hardships and joys of life. Additionally, they also said that while brewing tea, the tea leaves resembled the ups and downs of life.
She couldn’t really understand what they meant, but she knew that once they started drinking tea, they would become elegant and quiet, and their words sounded reasonable.
Jiang Xia curled his lips and shook his head secretly in response.
With the small cup of tea infront of her, Mother Jiang drank from it while observing her surroundings as she listened to countless other customers praise the tea for it’s fragrance, causing her to be increasingly bitter.
After contemplating for a moment, she suddenly hugged her stomach and started screaming.
“Ah… It’s so painful, Xiao-Xia, mother’s stomach is so painful, could it be food poisoning?”
At the same time, she smoothly knocked over her cup of tea, however she didn’t want to be covered in tea so she rolled on the ground instead. (C:I have no words for this.)
Her extreme reaction frightened everybody in the hall, causing them all to freeze.
And although most of the customers were on the second floor, there were still a number of them in the hall. As a result of seeing Mother Jiang’s reaction, their faces all turned ghastly white.
What is going on recently? At first it was the First Tea Pavilion that almost poisoned someone to their death, but now it also happened to someone on the opening day of a new tea pavilion? Could all the tea leaves now have some sort of defect?!
