Chapter 161 Storm Of Sacrifice

nUp in the sky, Zeshion was having a hard time.
nFrom the left, there was Agor, who was mostly defending himself and doesn’t attack too often. But the problem was the other one.
n“Sh*t! Again?!”
nZeshion cursed as he felt a wave of dizziness attack him. The other attacker, the Succubus Lord, was locked onto him and kept on trying to take over his mind.
nThankfully, Zeshion had high mental resistance, managing to last as long as he did. However, if any of the four got attacked by it other than Blanc, who had almost the same level of mental toughness as him, then they would’ve been under the control of the monster already.
nAs he was immobile for a moment after getting hit by the Succubus Lord, Agor sent a few tentacles forward to attack him. Zeshion saw this coming from the corner of his eyes and dodged in a panic once more, breaking his form in the air and dropping altitude once more.
n“Agor, you coward!”
nZeshion shouted in anger.
nAgor completely relied on evading and blocking attacks from Zeshion, knowing that he couldn’t pierce his defense normally. However, with the presence of the Succubus Lord, who was keen on eliminating Zeshion first, the tides have changed.
nZeshion can’t focus on Agor, as he’ll be open for the bloody red claw attacks sent by the Succubus Lord. He can’t focus on the monster either, as Agor would hit him from the back. He was stuck in the middle, like a soccer ball passed around by the two enemies on either side.
nZeshion looked down for a moment, checking the other’s state. Vermeil was rushing away from Blanc’s barrier, headed towards Ajax, who was being surrounded by five members of the Zodiac. Ajax was already full of injuries but couldn’t pull back because of the incessant attacks from around him.
nBlanc seemed busy too. She was blocked by three demon tamers who kept darting around, not letting her land a proper hit at them. Furthermore, behind her, four figures were standing while looking upward.
n“Will!” 𝗼𝘃𝗹.𝗼𝐫𝗴
nZeshion quickly identified who it was, sighing in relief. At least they could confirm that Will was safe and sound. Zeshion looked at his precious sword, the Sky Rending Saber, that had accompanied him for hundreds of years. Now, it was full of cracks from taking on the claws of the Succubus Lord, almost to the point of breaking.
n“… Sorry about this, partner.”
nZeshion muttered in a pained whisper before covering the sword in searing blue flames. As he waved the sword, a flash was sent towards Agor, who quickly used the tentacles around him to block.
n*SPLAT!*
nOut of the hundreds of tentacles, only a little over a dozen remained after the hit. The rest burned in a blue flame before evaporating, not even leaving ashes behind on the scene.
nThe Succubus Lord saw that Zeshion wasn’t paying attention to it, so it quickly sent another batch of blood-colored waves that came from its claws. The wave became larger and larger as it moved towards Zeshion’s back.
n“Forbidden Skill: Storm of Sacrifice”
nZeshion whispered.
nAt that moment, a wild wave of energy spread out from him. The saber in his hands, his longtime partner, completely shattered and turned into thousands of smaller fragments, circling around him.
nThe fragments became covered in a faint white blaze as they circled faster and faster, creating a tornado around Zeshion. The red claw attack from the monster quickly dissipated as it met the storm, melting away in just moments.
n“Blue!”
nZeta, looking from afar, shouted in worry as tears threatened to fall from her eyes. The skill he used was not only a skill that broke the user’s weapon as a sacrifice but also took a portion of his soul. It was a move with too large of a drawback, but he had no choice but to rely on it. The move, using the soul as an energy source, was powerful enough to even obliterate other god tamers with a single sword fragment.
nZeshion formed the finger of his right hand into the sword hand seal before waving it down towards the Succubus Lord above. As he did, the storm of blade fragments, burning in a white flame, swarmed the monster.
n*DADADADADADADA!* *CRASH!*
nThe fragments battered the seemingly untouchable barrier protecting the Succubus Lord and broke it. The fragments approached at a blinding speed, not giving the monster time to set up another layer of protection. However…
n*CLANG!*
nThe fragments, something that could end the life of a normal God tamer with just one hit, bounced away from the monster’s seemingly soft skin. The rest of the fragments tried to do the same, but only the rattling sound of metal hitting metal could be heard.
nThe Succubus Lord glanced at Zeshion before sneering. Zeshion, after seeing the derisive smile, felt chills run down his spine. Even the most powerful skill that he could use was ineffective against it, throwing him into the pits of despair.
nWeak child, stop this annoying display and kneel before me.
nThe Succubus Lord spoke for the first time. Her voice, echoing inside the heads of everyone present, was filled with an irresistible charm, making anyone who heard it want to follow her words, no questions asked.
nAs proof, the weaker tamers, specifically the Zodiac and Will’s team, fell to their knees almost instantly. The only ones who managed to stay mostly unaffected other than the god tamers were Agor and Will.
nAgor was fine, as he was one of the few god-tamers previously before getting his taming system stripped away from him. Although his strength hadn’t fully returned yet, his mental fortitude was more than enough to not succumb to the monster’s order.
nThe only abnormal one was Will, who should be about the 5th level in power, being able to stay standing without so much as a flinch. Around his body, a familiar golden glow spread, protecting him, while a golden sigil appeared floating behind him.
nIt was the same phenomenon when Will overcame the bloodline suppression of the previous head of the Luo family, Luo Meng Yao.
