Chapter 41 Brief Respite Underground

n

n

nIt was unknown how long I had been unconscious.

nWhen I woke up, the first thing I noticed was that I was wet and then that everything hurts. I quickly pulled out a potion and gulped it down before sighing in relief.

nLooking around, I found a strong stream of water like a waterfall not that far away. I guess we survived falling down from that height due to the water. Furthermore, we had been luckily swept ashore.

nI looked beside me and Found both Ember and Fang unconscious. They were both still breathing, but Fang was bleeding heavily. With how her luscious red lips turned an unhealthy pale color, I quickly fetched a potion from the storage ring.

nI turned her body to lie on her back and supported her head to drink the potion. The potion immediately started working its magic, but it would still take some time to completely heal her injuries.

nI then turned to Ember. She was still unconscious but there were no external injuries visible anywhere. Her leather armor, which we just bought, was full of holes enough to be categorized as a rag. The parts of her skin under the holes of the armor were mysteriously spotless.

n“Is this what she meant? That she’s almost impervious to physical attacks?”

nAlthough the principle seemed different from Physical Damage Nullification of Xiao Bing, it was still a bonafide damage negation property.

nNow that I had free time, I quickly surveyed our surroundings. I was wondering why I could see clearly while we should be deep underground without light, but it seems that the energy strands around are acting as some sort of light source in my eyes. 𝘯𝑜𝑣𝘦𝘭.𝘦𝑡

nWhat’s more, the energy in this space was much richer compared to the barren land above. Not only did they not look disgusting despite them clumping together, the way they move around looked as if the energy itself was alive.

n“Achooo!”

nMy body, wet from the water, was slowly losing temperature. Luckily, I have a lot of emergency goods inside the storage ring. I quickly took out a magical campfire that looks like a lantern that radiates heat and light.

nAfter placing it on a flat area nearby, I also laid down two beddings near the lantern. I took two towels and dried Ember and Fang as much as possible. As a gentleman, I couldn’t forgive myself for feeling horny while touching them all over.

nStill, I need to remove their wet clothes to avoid losing more body heat.

n*Gulp*

nAlthough I saw it the day before yesterday, I couldn’t help but gulp when the two of them are lying naked beside each other.

nFang’s body was streamlined and obviously designed for speed. Her mountains were large enough to spill from one hand if held, but of the size that wouldn’t get in the way of her movements. Her tail was wet with the water and her fur was not as fluffy, but the way it was hiding her important part was a bit erotic.

nEmber’s body was dangerous. I guess she was limiting the size when she was awake but now that she’s unconscious, her mountains were so large that even with two hands, I can’t cover one of them completely. What’s more, despite the pink color of her skin, her transparency as a slime was nowhere to be seen. She looks no different than a human, other than her skin color.

n“No, no, no… Stop!”

nI guess being on the brink of death earlier made my body enter an excited state now that it’s safe. I quickly chased away my pink thoughts and covered them with a dry sheet of blankets.

nOf course, I needed a bit of time myself to calm down. Even as a gentleman, holding back isn’t good for your body. I went behind a rock away from the two and did my thing. A few minutes later, I entered sage mode and returned to the campfire with a refreshed expression.

nI quickly ditched my newly bought armor, now scraps, and wore a new set of clothes from the storage ring. Although I planned and bought things that I thought I would use, I only bought one set of armor for the three of us.

n“I should’ve bought some more…”

nWhile I was thinking about pointless things, Fang raised a groan and woke up.

n“… Leader?”

nShe raised her body and stared blankly at me. I just smiled and closed my eyes, avoiding looking at her now-exposed body once more. I quickly took out a set of clothes and threw them at her. Without a word, she quickly put it on. The rustling of clothes was working quite heavily on my nerves.

n“It’s fine now, Leader.”

nWhen I heard her say so, I quickly opened my eyes. She was wearing a simple set of clothes. A red shoulderless tank top matched with blue denim-like short pants.

nAlthough there’s still a lot of exposed skin like her thighs, her navel, and her underboobs, it was much pleasing to the eye compared to just being naked.

n“I’m worried about the defense, but we don’t have anything else.”

nFang sighed as she tinkered with her attire. After confirming her degree of movement, she quickly walked to my side and sat down on a flat rock.

n“Ember… She’s not waking up…”

nFang muttered worriedly as she stared at where Ember was sleeping. I frowned slightly, worried for her safety.

n“She doesn’t have any injuries as far as I could see. I guess there’s nothing we could do but wait…”

nWe have potions and food, but nothing to heal us spiritually or mentally. If I had the chance, I should tame a healer next.

nAn hour passed with us just sitting in front of the lantern.

nFang’s ears suddenly twitched before she turned her head sharply to her right. Curious about her reaction, I too followed her stare but wasn’t able to see anything.

n*tap* *tap* *tap*

nHowever, soon, I was able to hear a constant rhythmic tapping sound.

n“Footsteps?”

nWe are deep underground. Whatever the owner of those footsteps was, I quickly moved to Ember’s side and kept my posture low.

nFang hissed like a cat despite being a wolf. Her tail standing straight up with her fur standing on end.

n“… What a peculiar visitor.”

nThen, before we could even see the person, her voice echoed inside the cave.

n
