Chapter 56 First Priority

nAs soon as I remembered Ying Yue, her mother’s face surfaced from my memory. Her eyes were definitely that of someone planning something nefarious.
n“… I… Let’s put the Luo’s for later.”
nDeciding that I was not strong enough to protect myself if I ever visited there, I prioritized checking the other two ancient families first. Fang continued, ignoring the reason why I decided to postpone visiting the Luo.
n“Then that leaves the Seimei and the Virgil families. Which one do you think we should visit first?”
nI pondered for a while. Although I have heard of their names before, that’s the extent of my knowledge about them. Even though they’re ancient families, it’s not like they are famous or extremely powerful. Just like the Luo, the other two are simply overlords within their small circles of towns.
nAs I was pondering, my gaze wandered to the gun resting by the wall.
n“Right, are there dwarves nearby any of the two families’ territory?”
nFrom Fatima’s story, only those ancient species who love tinkering more than anything had the ability to repair this gun. Even in the memories of my past life, dwarves had always been the best craftsmen. However, as far as I know, they haven’t been sighted for several hundreds of years already.
n“I believe that they were last seen near the Virgil Family’s territory… But that’s 400 years ago.”
nFang’s knowledge really was extensive. I can’t count how many times I’ve relied on her for such things. I guess most of her information came from Aster’s place though, so I feel complicated about it.
nI lifted my left hand, trying to pat Fang’s head in appreciation. Two soft masses sandwiching my arm jiggled as I moved. Ember involuntarily let out a soft moan.
nFang, whose head got patted, snuggled my right arm harder. I could hear her joyful giggle and could imagine a blissful smile on her face, even though I could only see the top of her head in our position. Her ears and tail were waving back and forth energetically.
n“Then, it’s decided. We’ll visit the Virgil Family first!”
nAs I decided so, a yawn escaped my mouth. The fatigue was finally catching up on me. I closed my eyes and lost consciousness almost instantly.
n—
nAfter Will fell asleep, Ember and Fang finally let go of his arms. However, they didn’t leave his side. Instead, they snuggled even closer, hugging half of his body each.
n“Master…”
nEmber, with faint traces of sadness, muttered. Fang, although not as much as Ember, felt saddened too. Part of their sadness was from losing their instructor, but most of it was from watching their tamer lament so deeply from losing her.
nTo them, Fatima was only a mentor who gave them more power to not only protect themselves but also to protect their tamer. However, to Will, Fatima was more than a simple acquaintance.
nRemembering how Fatima had an apologetic look as she revealed that she slept with their master, Ember couldn’t even get angry at her. She thought she didn’t even have the right to be angry even. Although she may be a little jealous that Fatima received their master’s love, she convinced herself that she had no right to butt into his personal affairs.
n“Leader…”
nFang, on the other hand, wasn’t jealous of Fatima. To her, having more females receive her leader’s love was a given. It may be a racial thing but Fang thought that Will’s followers would only increase further from then on.
nThe thing that she was saddened about was that Fatima, who received his master’s love, couldn’t stay by his side anymore.
nAlthough she was wary of her at first, when they get to know each other more, Fang started liking her personally. Fang was dismayed that Fatima couldn’t even join their circle and travel around with them.
nThe two snuggled Will, smothering him with their warmth.
n—
nThe next day, it was extremely hard to get up. Both Ember and Fang were wrapped around me tightly. Although it was a blissful event, my bladder was nearing its limit. I gently pried them away before running to the nearest comfort room.
nLater, after the three of us had breakfast, we decided to head to the government office first. Amongst the things that Fatima left, the most important thing would be the activation sequence of the taming system.
nAlthough I feel that I should quickly spread it around, I fear that some greedy nobles would attempt to monopolize it. So, for the first person I decided to help in activation, I chose the God Tamer Blue Zeshion.
nEntering the usual church-like building, we quickly went to a vacant receptionist and asked. .𝘯𝘵
n“Can I speak with Vice Chief Fina? Tell her that Will wishes to speak with her.”
nThe familiar teenager-looking red-haired receptionist quickly responded “Please wait a moment.” before rushing to the backside of the building. Soon, she came back with Fina in tow.
n“Mr. Will, welcome back. You said you wish to speak with me?”
nFatima was as voluptuous as always. However, now that I have Ember, who was several levels larger than her when not holding back her volume, I wasn’t fazed as much as before.
nFina on the other hand sent a quizzical gaze to both Ember and Fang. I just remembered that the last time she saw them, they still look like a blob and a wolf.
n“Ah, these two are Ember and Fang. They evolved successfully thanks to the essence crystal you gave.”
nHearing my introduction, Fina exclaimed “Ohh” as she scanned the two from head to toe.
n“You got some nice hobbies, Mr. Will.”
nAs if she saw through something, she winked at me. I just cleared my throat and went to speak business.
n“Actually, I just want to ask if you know God Zeshion’s whereabouts?”
nHearing my question, Fina tilted her head in puzzlement.
n“God Zeshion? It’s only been two-three days since the news from the capital reached here, so he should still be there subduing the escaped prisoners.”
n“It’s already been two weeks, is the riot still not suppressed?”
nI wondered. However, Fina’s next words made me doubt my ears.
n“Two weeks? What are you saying? It hasn’t even been a week since the tournament ended.”
n
