Chapter 60 One Bullet One Kill

n“Sacrificing their tamed beasts for power…”

nThe idea was stuck in the back of my mind. I turned to look at Ember and Fang, who were quietly observing the dots on the map. ‘I would never do that to them.’

n“Anyways, the Demon Tamers are powerful. Their bodies alone are even more powerful than a 9th-stage monster’s. However, their defenses aren’t up to par with their strength.”

nGod Zeshion added.

n‘So they’re like mages in games? Paper cannons!’

nThinking so, an idea popped inside my head.

n“What happens if a normal tamer kills those Demon Tamers? Will they be rewarded?”

nHearing this, God Zeshion was slightly surprised before releasing a soft chuckle.

n“If they can, they would be able to earn 10 Million Credits for each kill. Most tamers say that the rewards aren’t worth the risks though.”

nA Demon Tamer is equivalent to a 9th-stage monster in power. Even if they have lower defense, they could still pose a serious threat to one’s life. 10 Million sure isn’t enough for that much of a gamble. However, that’s only for a “normal” tamer.

nFrom inside my storage ring, I took out the last box of training bullets. All in all, there should be around 40 bullets left. I picked one and passed it to God Zeshion.

n“I still have rewards waiting for the system activation right? Can I use that now? I just want you to cram as much fire and wind energy inside the shells to their limits.”

nEmber and Fang similarly do not have the required elements. If any of us were able to use wind and fire elements, I wouldn’t need to request it from God Zeshion.

nAlthough God Zeshion hesitated for a moment, he quickly complied and slowly infused the cases with more fire and wind energy of equal parts. It took less than a minute to completely fill all 40 bullets with energy.

n“Thank you.”

nAfter saying my thanks, I left the tent with the two big shots looking at my back with a look of doubt. Fang and Ember followed me from behind as we went to the nearest tallest building around.

nFang and I used Shadow Movement to quickly reach the top while Ember made a clone launch her up to the roof. There, we have an almost unobstructed view of the battlefield.

n“Ember, give me two clones for the Slime-suit mode. After that, you watch my surroundings with Fang.”

n“Alright, Leader.”

n“Yes, Master.”

nThe two quickly nodded. When Ember took two clones, they quickly morphed and covered my whole body. As a precaution, the part near my shoulder was especially concentrated, making it possible to divert all sorts of impacts.

nIf not for the smooth contours and the pink color, it would be similar in bulk to the armor from Halo Series. I quickly went prone and aimed the rifle toward the area where everyone was fighting.

nWhen I peered into the scope, I could see traces of energy much clearer. I quickly followed one and found a grotesque looking human (?) that was massacring its way through a group of guards.

nI quickly loaded one bullet that God Zeshion filled, aimed, and shot. The impact was as strong as Fatima’s true bullets, however, the power was obviously lower. If this was used against the Void Beast, it would just bounce off its skin futilely. 𝒃𝒆𝙣𝒐𝒗𝙚𝒍.𝒄𝒐𝒎

nThe recoil from the shot was completely absorbed by the slime suit. However, the energy wasn’t neutralized but redirected. A large mass of the slime suit was sent flying the other way to counteract the recoil. It was also a considerate volume of the suit. With this much, in just 10 shots, the slime suit would lose its purpose.

n“But 10 shots should be enough.”

nSaying so, I confirmed that the bullet I shot easily entered the Demon Tamer’s temple and caused it to pop like a balloon. Without wasting for the pieces of meat to fall to the ground, I quickly located another Demon Tamer and aimed.

nThis time, it was a group of Demon Tamers fighting against the 9th-stage King of Hell’s Bastion. However, only the lady boss was out in the open while the king was only using one gigantic and fiery arm to fight. Their battle was in a stalemate as attacks from either side quickly gets neutralized by the other.

nI aimed the scope at the leader-like figure that seemingly was giving out orders. As I pulled the trigger, another large mass of the slime suit got blown away. The bullet cut through the air and quickly passed through the leader’s head. Similar to what happened before, his head popped like a watermelon, splashing reddish-white matter all around.

nI quickly moved my scope to another one of them, standing stock still from the sudden death of their commander. I quickly loaded another bullet and shot.

nWith two out of eight gone, the lady boss quickly wiped the floor of them. However, before she finished, one Demon Tamer noticed us and was rushing toward us.

n“Fang!”

nEven without my command, Fang quickly understood my intentions. She, using the dark energy she just learned, made a sticky swamp-like area along the enemy’s path. As soon as his legs got caught in it, he was unable to move for a short instant.

nUsing that opening, I loaded another bullet and quickly fired. Even without using the scope, I could more or less guide the bullet from just energy manipulation alone. The bullet hit the center of the Demon Tamer’s chest creating a fist-sized hole that continued even to the paved ground behind.

nI observed for a moment and realized that no other Demon Tamers are heading our way. So, I continued sniping all the leader-like figures all around, not wasting a single shot. In the end, with 10 bullets fired, I eliminated 10 Demon Tamers.

n“That’s 100 Million for us!”

nI smiled as I stood up. As the saying goes, only the rich claim that money isn’t important. Given that I would need to repair the gun later, fattening my wallet when I can is important. I have no idea just how much the repair costs will be, but if I have hundreds of millions of Credits prepared, then I wouldn’t need to worry about anything.

nSeeing that the three bosses were already cleaning up the leftover Demon Tamers, I placed the rifle back into the storage ring as we jumped down the building. Walking leisurely, we returned to the large tent where God Zeshion was.

n
