Chapter 509 - Extra

nSouthern Villa.
nCurrently, it was summer and thus, it was the perfect time to stay in this place of the city. Ji Yanli sighed comfortably while Wang Haixiao massaged her shoulder.
n'What a life!' She thought while sighing in satisfaction again. Wang Haixiao knew the woman was enjoying his service and thus, he continued his massage while she drank tea.
nAt that moment, two people ran past them, one was the five years old Sheng Yuexi and another was their little son, three years old, Wang Fengmin.
nJi Yanli sighed again as she glanced at them. Wang Haixiao couldn't help but ask,
"Why are you sighing again and again like an old lady?
"
n
"Ah, Haixiao, you don't understand… Sigh~
" Ji Yanli shook her head as if the man couldn't understand her even if she explained the reason.
nWang Haixiao: …
nThe man thought he shouldn't have asked that in the first place. He massaged her shoulder nonetheless and kept an eye on the children who were busy running around.
nLuo Lixi, who was on the terrace of the villa frowned slightly. She looked down on the children who didn't have any intention to stop running. From the side, Sheng Ruming chuckled. He saw the unfinished in front of Luo Lixi.
nFor many days, Luo Lixi tried to sketch a perfect picture of Yuexi and Fengmin but it was as if her hand went into a strike. She couldn't sketch a satisfactory picture no matter how much she tried.
nCrumbled papers had already piled up into a tiny mountain beside her. Sheng Ruming stifled his laughter when he saw her crumbling the paper and throwing it away.
nHe sighed and dragged Luo Lixi away from the stool. Luo Lixi, who was in distress, hurriedly changed her facial expression and asked,
"Is it her bath time already?
"
n
"Heh~
" Sheng Ruming smirked and then whispered,
"I want to take a bath with you instead…
"
n
"...
" Luo Lixi thought he was serious and she couldn't stop raising her eyes when the man sneakily dragged her outside of the boundary of the villa.
nLuo Lixi's face turned red as she thought that the man had wild thoughts and wanted to take her to that 'lake' to take a 'bath'.
n'I am not against it though…' Luo Lixi thought and obediently followed him inside. The moment the car door closed, he went ahead to kiss her but got the biggest scare of his life.
nIn the passenger seat, two pairs of black eyes were staring at him silently. If he did not have good vision, he wouldn't have noticed the sneaky kids.
nYuexi hid her face in embarrassment when she got caught. Instantly, she lightly slapped Fengmin and whispered,
"Didn't I tell you not to follow me?! If daddy spanks me later, you will have to get half of it, understand?!
"
nLittle Fengmin nodded even though he did not know why Sister Yue was angry. Sheng Ruming rubbed his temple and asked helplessly,
"When did you two get inside?
"
n
"We … We were inside before daddy came. We were playing 'ghost ghost'.
" Little Yuexi fiddled with her fingers and murmured with her head lowered. From the side, Fengmin nodded his head up and down, like a baby chick.
n
"You two, get down.
" Sheng Ruming said as he stared at them. Noticing the reluctance in his daughter's eyes, he softened his voice and said,
"Daddy and mommy have work to do. You go to Aunty Ji…
"
n
"Don't want…
" Sheng Yuexi denied straightaway. She was most reluctant to let mommy go outside of her sight but her father, weird, always came up with every possible means to take her away!
n
"People… uncle, people don't want!
" Fengmin also imitated Yuexi and spoke out, rather nearly shouted out! But the next moment, the little boy shrank behind Yuexi because he met Sheng Ruming's intimidating eyes.
n
"Let's take them with us.
" Luo Lixi's motherly heart softened when she saw her little baby's aggrieved look.
n
"... Are you sure?
" Sheng Ruming gave her a weird glance. At that, Luo Lixi shut up. She was embarrassed and thought of telling the children to leave the car when Sheng Yuexi called out softly.
n
"Ma~
" The little girl's eyes were brimming with water, threatening to fall at any moment. She realized that Luo Lixi wanted to leave her behind and she could not allow it!
n
"Oh, Yueyue, don't cry. You will come with me, happy?
" Luo Lixi spoke out with a doting tone.
n
"Happy~
" Yuexi's mood cheered up instantly. Even though a drop of tear fell from her right eye, her smile was too dazzling to ignore.
n'Sigh, my daughter is too cute and… clingy!' Sheng Ruming chuckled helplessly. Not that he didn't like that but his quality time with his wife got reduced a lot because of the naughty child…
n…
nThe car drove through the empty roads. When it passed through a forest, the children stared at the weird birds on trees with wonder and excitement.
nThe constant giggle and chattering of the two little children in the backseat cheered up the adults. At that moment, any kind of thoughts of rolling on the grass left from both Sheng Ruming and Luo Lixi's minds.
nAfter driving through some time, they stopped in front of a tavern. The children were very excited and rushed into the tavern when Sheng Ruming opened the car doors.
nLuo Lixi bought some local sweets and pastries for the children. Because of it, the kids became obedient and followed Luo Lixi closely, to get another pastry from her.
nAfter Sheng Ruming gave the tavern a last glance, he drove towards another road. Luo Lixi's eyes were misty as she looked outside. A faint smile was visible on her face. Looking at her face, Sheng Ruming's mood also went up.
nSoon, they came across a place where the two sides had lotus ponds. The season had already entered the phase when the lotuses were in full bloom. While she was gazing outside she noticed there were many kinds of lotus - pure white, cream white, pink that was a light pink, red… just like the past.
nLuo Lixi went into a daze as she saw several people in boats collecting lotus pods. This time, Sheng Ruming didn't need to tell and he braked at the roadside.
nWhen they got out, Yuexi clutched her mother's dress and whined,
"Ma, I want flowers!
"
n
"Ah, wait.
" Sheng Ruming turned to the people who were collecting lotus pods and spoke out loud,
"Excuse me, can you sell us some lotus flowers?
"
nAt his shout, the people who were collecting lotus flowers and pods in batches stopped in their tracks and turned to him. They exchanged glances among each other but didn't reply. At that moment a man in army uniform walked towards Sheng Ruming.
nHis steps were firm and his eyes were sharp. But that man held a bunch of lotus in his arms, appearing kinda gentle. When Luo Lixi first saw him, she thought the man looked familiar.
nWu Bailan crouched down before Sheng Yuexi and handed her some flowers. He also gave the little Fengmin some. The children were very happy as they hugged the flowers tightly.
nLuo Lixi nodded at him and asked,
"Do I know you?
"
nA rare smile appeared on Wu Bailan's face as he said,
"My name is Penzi.
"
nLuo Lixi tried to remember but couldn't remember him. From the side, Sheng Ruming's lips bent down as he seized up the man. Despite remembering him, he didn't tell Luo Lixi.
nLater, because of the kids' nagging, Sheng Ruming accompanied them and rowed a boat in the middle of the lotus pond.
nFrom the shore, Luo Lixi gazed at them. Watching the smiles on her dears, her heart was at peace.
nLater that night, she finally sketched a satisfactory image. Two children and one adult, smiling so sweetly that Sheng Ruming's eyes went nearly blind.
n'I never smile like that!' Sheng Ruming thought wryly because his cool persona got destroyed in her sketch. Nonetheless, it was his wife's work and worth millions of gold!
nHe framed the sketch and hung it up on Yuexi's wall. Luo Lixi stood behind him and saw him doing it. After he walked up to her, he said,
"Next time, you must sketch a picture of us three!
"
n
"Okay.
" Luo Lixi smiled and then hooked his neck. She kissed him gently, bringing a smile to his face. Yuexi, who was standing at the doorstep of her room, dragged little Fengmin away with her.
nShe knew that her parents would bite each other next like little kids and she didn't want to get involved in their affair.
nSigh, being a little baby was difficult~
n
