Chapter 1720 - Asking for Help

“This isn’t something easy,” Mar’alith spoke in pain.

“From what I can see, this is a very easy thing. Unless you’re afraid of death. The Cenarion Circle is defending the land from the Burning Legion and other forces. Countless commanders have been killed. It doesn’t make a difference with you or not. At most, you would just die in C’Thun’s nest, and that’s about it,” Lu Li continued viciously.

He was acting just like an evil antagonist right now.

“Enough Elf! You don’t even know what type of responsibilities I carry,” Mar’alith feebly retorted. However, he had already started to doubt his own actions, so this type of excuse was weak.

“I believe there would be people who would help you in your responsibilities as commander,” Lu Li said.

“Yes, sir, I will carry this responsibility in the meantime until you return,” the Lieutenant, Laiken, who stood next to him, couldn’t help but say. He didn’t care for power, but he just couldn’t bear watching his brother in pain.

“Laiken…” Mar’alith looked at his brother in shock.

“I have grown up now.”

Laiken was also a handsome guy with the same green hair and eyes.

“Okay, I hope you can shoulder this responsibility, my brother. Our family honour cannot be desecrated and I… need to go do what a good husband is meant to do,” Mar’alith said as he looked as his brother in gratitude.

He wasn’t sure if his brother would be qualified for this position, but Lu Li was right – he had to face everything himself.

“I think we need to go to the Temple of the Moon,” Lu Li said.

There was actually a rather deceptive set up. If Mar’alith went to go search for Natalia straight away, then he would be killed by his hostile wife. Once she killed him, Natalia would then be awakened, which would be followed by ending her own life. Then, the players’ quest would be a complete failure.

There was nothing good that would come out of it.

As such, Lu Li couldn’t just allow Mar’alith to just walk into his death. He had to find a way for the Commander out of this mess.

The Temple of the Moon was not a place that anyone could get into, but Lu Li was someone who could.

Who said that Lu Li was hopeless after being reborn? He had built himself an extraordinary character. Otherwise, from his Charisma, he wouldn’t even come close to the threshold of entering the Temple of the Moon.

A guard respectfully asked Lu Li to wait a moment, and didn’t even look at Mar’alith once.

The Commander of the Cenarion Circle was seen as nothing at the Temple, especially in front of people like Lu Li who had been blessed.

“Sir Tyrande is out at the moment. I hope we can help you,” a great priest said as he emerged in front of Lu Li.

Unlike Grandma Tai, who was as beautiful as a flower, this Elf was very old already. Ever since the Well of Eternity exploded, the Night Elves lost their eternal life and would live to grow old and die.

Even if this was so, this elderly grandma looked like she could live for thousands of years more. Not to mention, she was also a Priestess of the Moon.

“My wife…” Mar’alith began as he saluted the high priest respectfully, then explained his intentions in detail.

“Natalia… that poor child.”

Once she heard that this Priestess of the Moon was tempted by the Old Gods and had fallen, the old priest became serious immediately. She also knew Natalia. After all, there weren’t many Priestess of the Moon to begin with.

“Now, she’s probably already stuck in the Qiraj Insects’ nest. Even if I manage to save her, I don’t know how to save her soul,” Mar’alith cried out helplessly.

“C’Thun – what a troublesome existence. Even if it’s just a wicked breath, it’s enough to give someone a headache. But, your wife betrayed her faith, and the Moon God wouldn’t care for those who don’t have firm belief,” the old priest said.

“She has only lost her way,” Lu Li piped up from the side.

“Indeed, she lost her way.”

The old priest had no choice but admitted that.

“She gave her everything to the Moon God, like a servant, like a child to the Moon God. Was the Moon God going to ignore her just because she made one mistake?” Lu Li pushed further.

“Little Elf, what you’re saying is correct. I also hope that she can return to the arms of the Moon God. Plus, Mar’alith, you put down everything just for her – I am rather surprised,” the old priest sighed.

If Lu Li had come himself, the old priest probably wouldn’t have budged. Mar’alith’s pained eyes easily touched the old elf’s kind heart.

“What do we need to do?” Lu Li asked.

“The method is simple, but it’s not easy in practice,” the old Priest said as she took out a thick ancient book and sifted through it.

Lu Li listened to her as she scanned through and repeated the words with her mouth. She roughly knew that there were different ways of dealing with this type of situation. Different methods had different requirements. Many of them were in the category of impossible.

In the end, the old priest came to a simple plan for Lu Li.

Assassinate C’Thun!

The players had to kill C’Thun in the Instance Dungeon, then use the mental fragments that dropped to create a magic that would allow Natalia to recover.

In fact, this was just brainwashing again.

It could be said that this quest was to get Mar’alith to be the players’ hatchet man. He would act as the quest’s NPC, entering into the Instance Dungeon and participating in the players’ battle against C’Thun.

One more helper meant that the Instance Dungeon naturally would be more efficient.

Mar’alith was a level 60 NPC. His profession was a Druid and was different from that of players. He could both tank monsters and deal damage, as well as heal.

To bring such an NPC into the Instance Dungeon was equivalent to another small team.

Lu Li didn’t dare to use this method on the cooldown. Once the time came, C’Thun would be in a fit of rage and if Mar’alith died in the Instance Dungeon, they would have a major problem.

In Lu Li’s memory, it was indeed quite popular to use this type of method in the Instance Dungeon during that period of time.

Mar’alith had to go prepare some things, including the installation of this subordinates and the preparation of combat supplies. This meant that time had to be delayed until tomorrow at least.

Lu Li was rather bewildered. Did this guy actually want to go save his wife?

If it were real love, wouldn’t he have left straightaway to begin his journey to kill C’Thun as if his life depended on it?
