Chapter 1782 - 3 Championships in a Row

Glory Capital’s players weren’t just sitting back either. They definitely were not willing to just let Sorrowless die— competitors never resigned to their fate.

They went to distract Lu Li relentlessly. There were still heaps of skills that could control and even kill him. It was a shame that in the end, Dawn was still a fairly even game.

Three strong players – including Kitty Likes Meat in her big demon state – didn’t do high damage, but they still had the ability to Fear and Disarm which really crippled Sorrowless.

Either one of Moonlight and Mu Qiu could fight Sorrowless hundreds of times, let alone the both of them working together.

Lu Li had been taken down to half HP, latching onto White Westhill without letting go. It wasn’t until Sorrowless was taken down before he finally used Gale Steps to get away from the battle, trying to stay alive.

Sorrowless bit the dust!

Not only was this a massive change in the battle, but it also caused a fall in Glory Capital’s morale.

It was especially impactful on players like Blood Dagger, who followed Sorrowless as his only leader. Sorrowless’s death meant that he couldn’t think clearly. This was different with Lu Li, Moonlight and Mu Qiu. If Lu Li died, Moonlight would just fight however he thought was right.

White Westhill could apply her Golden Protection on whoever she wanted to, but he didn’t know who to put it on. “Secure the defence line. Keep it up and regroup,” White Westhill called out, taking command.

Lu Li and his team didn’t look like they were in a rush though. Glory Capital had already lost Sorrowless, so there wasn’t much they could do. If they wanted to choose a target to focus fire, they could only choose Kitty Likes Meat, who had reverted from her demon form – that’s right, Kitty Likes Meat once again became a cute little girl. Lu Li immediately started to go on the offensive.

Actually, if Blood Dagger and his team had the guts to go on the offensive instead of waiting for support, they’d realise how weak the current Kitty Likes Meat actually was. Although her HP had already been refilled by Innocent Child, when she actually had to fight, a couple skills from any of them would be able to finish her off.

The side effect of her transformation was a debuff that made her extremely weak; it wasn’t just a matter of having no defence.

There was nothing wrong with White Westhill’s strategy. A four on five battle was disadvantageous so waiting for backup was the safest option. It was a shame they had missed a chance to turn the tables.

By the time Glory Capital waited for their backup to come, it became a five on five battle again. History is unchanged as Glory Capital still wasn’t able to kill an opponent without losing someone themselves.

Lu Li and his team weren’t afraid of subbing people out. Player by player, Lu Li, Moonlight and Mu Qiu were able to defeat Glory Capital’s Blood Dagger. Aside from Sorrowless, Glory Capital had amazing cooperation. However, after they exchanged one player, Ruling Sword’s advantage was clearly seen.

Because they had an extra person, the subbed off Fat Monkey was finally able to enter in the battle. Being a benchwarmer for half the day, he finally had his time to shine.

In the current patch, the old Mage had amazing damage levels. He had the strongest fire magic of any Mage; he was like a movable cannon. There was one voice echoing in White Westhill’s head, saying it was all over.

Because of his temper, he began to have some deep hidden anger against Sorrowless. If Sorrowless hadn’t gone all out on the arena in destroying Water Fairy and everyone else, then other people wouldn’t have been able to see all his weaknesses. With the advantage of understanding those little weaknesses, Ruling Sword was able to defeat Glory Capital on the arena.

Ruling Sword once again claimed the Shadow Cup championship.

There were two Shadow Cup Championships and one Professional League Championship, so Ruling Sword could be considered to have won three championships in a row. The Donghua Cup and all those other little competitions didn’t stop Ruling Sword from boasting that they themselves were champions three times in a row.

The generous reward allowed Ruling Sword’s economy to recover a little again. Creating a new branch cup meant they didn’t have a cent left over from their income in the first half year. Lu Li failed so much he almost had to live off his girlfriend.

And so the last competition of the level 60s ended this way. The last Instance Dungeon, Naxxramas, had also been overcome by Ruling Sword. But the game company wouldn’t immediately unlock level 70. It would take at least a few months. The company had to consider the experience of the mid and low level players. They wouldn’t make a large-scale release of new content until most of them had experienced at least most of the level 60s content.

In this period, Ruling Sword entered into a relatively stable time of development. On one hand, they didn’t stop forming Elite teams with some of the best players for Instance Dungeon farming, while on the other hand, they made some mass removal of ordinary players from the guild.

This time, out of 100 000 battling players, Ruling Sword went right ahead and eliminated some 50 000. About 20 000 of them went into Judgement Spear, but the remaining 30 000 were completely cleared out.

In this way, Ruling Sword’s fighting members were reduced to about 50 000.

These waves of member removals would keep going on because there were constantly new strong, powerful players coming in. 50 000 people was the largest number a poor guild was able to support.

Ruling Sword was one of these poor guilds— they really lacked funds. When their income didn’t keep up with their expenditure, they’d have to reduce their numbers to increase benefits to the outstanding players.

Actually, most of the best clubs including Glory Capital were reducing members. They had slimmed down quite a few times in a row, but they had a lot of assets and heaps of funds. The members who had been cut out more or less went into the branch guild, and not only did they accept their own members which had been removed, they also accepted members who had been removed from other clubs.

Kicking guild members was a very cruel thing. Those members who had been eliminated already experienced the benefits of being in a big guild, so when they became an unaffiliated player again, there’d be a lot of things they weren’t used to. Good thing most of the ordinary players who were removed from big clubs could enter a mid or small sized guild easily.

Since there were no competitions for now, clubs didn’t have go all out on getting First Clears for Instance Dungeons. Everyone focused once again on the Strongholds. The official channels were very cooperative as well, opening up a dynamic Stronghold battle.
