Chapter 1973 - Black Temple First Clear

The final Boss was of course, Illidan himself.
Illidan Stormrage, otherwise known as the ‘Traitor’, was now the leader of the Outlands and the final Boss of the Black Temple. He was once a Night Elf and was Malfurion Stormrage’s younger brother who had been romantically involved with Tyrande Whisperwind.
Illidan was born with an innate talent and passion for Magic.
After being freed from imprisonment, he began a rampage of outrageous doings, such as absorbing Gul’dan’s power, awaking the Naga and swearing loyalty to Kil’jaeden. The Illidan now was no longer a demon or a Dark Elf. He was no longer what they knew as a living being. He was now being hunted by Maiev Shadowsong.
Illidan’s life was filled with legends and constant drama. Perhaps it would be wiped clean one day, but not right now. He was a complete traitor.
Illidan loved Tyrande. He had liked her since he was a child and continued to like her even after she became his sister-in-law. He never gave up and was even willing to be imprisoned by her for ten thousand years.
Now, he was the King of the Outland, but he was never able to be with Tyrande.
His life was full of stories and legends, being Malfurion Stormrage’s younger brother. Before he left Azeroth, he uttered a final word.
“No matter what I have done, or what I become, I will always care about you, Tyrande.”
If these words were used in a romance novel, they would be extremely effective.
After days of effort, they finally stood in front of Illidan.
This battle was not going to be easy. In fact, it would be comparable to the battle against Kael’thas.
The battle was split into four phases, which was uncommon.
There was a Main Tank, two Secondary Tanks and a Warlock who was heaped with Shadow Resistance items. The rest of the squad was comprised of eight or nine Healers and DPS players.
The battle began with talking to Akama. Then, Akama brought them to the top of the Black Temple and had an argument with Illidan. In the end, Illidan yelled his signature line.
“You are NOT prepared!”
This signalled the end of the argument and the beginning of the actual battle.
After Illidan was activated, Warriors needed to pull him to face the other way to avoid his Drain Soul hitting anyone else other than them.
In this phase, the positioning of the players was very similar to the battle that they had against Grobbulus. The Tanks were circling the outside of the team, keeping Illidan’s back faced towards the team. Meanwhile, the ranged DPS players were positioned in the middle of the room, furiously attacking Illidan. When the Shadow Demon was about to spawn, they would run and wait until it appeared.
They couldn’t even get past Illidan’s pre-programmed words for the first few battles. They continued to wipe, even before Illidan finished.
However, they were furthering their understanding more and more with each wipe.
Lu Li didn’t understand why Sky Moon was so determined to get the First Clear for this Instance Dungeon. Sky Moon was simply sending the players to their deaths.
However, no one seemed to object to it.
This completely dumbfounded Lu Li.
What left him even more dumbfounded was why Sky Moon had brought along four Thieves. Lu Li knew that during the second phase, Thieves were almost useless and couldn’t contribute much to the overall DPS.
If the difficulty level was at 10 with two Thieves, then bringing four Thieves would increase the difficulty to 16.
Unfortunately, Lu Li had already left everything to Sky Moon. It was up to him as to how he wanted to compose his teams. However, Lu Li was able to displace Sky Moon as the commander if he wanted to.
There was also another problem – with so many Thieves, the price of the Glaives would surely go up.
What ensued were days of wiping again and again. It was nearly time for his engagement ceremony.
“Let’s keep holding on. Everyone, just a bit more! We are taking the Instance Dungeon down today! Tomorrow is the wedding day!” Sky Moon yelled and encouraged everyone to keep going, despite them being exhausted already.
Had he not brought five Thieves into the Instance Dungeon, perhaps the battle would have been
over quicker.
That’s right – he had decided to include yet another Thief.
Although Lu Li was complaining in his heart, he had to admit that the collective power of this tri-guild alliance was incredible. Even with so many Thieves, they were able to enter the fourth phase multiple times.
System: Congratulations to Ruling Sword, Drizzle Court and Peerless City, who under the command of Sky Moon, have completed the First Clear of the Black Temple!
No one could believe their ears. The Instance Dungeon had been completed so unexpectedly. The start of the final battle wasn’t ideal. Quite a few players made mistakes that shouldn’t have been made, which made Sky Moon nearly call for a restart.
Who would have thought that this would be when they finally took Illidan down?
Four skill points!
After a rough calculation, Lu Li’s silence meant that in a one out of six chance, he hadn’t been rewarded with one.
One Enhanced Skill Book!
It was for Warlocks, so it didn’t concern him.
There were two regular skill books and one of them was quite useful for Thieves. However, Lu Li already planned to save up all his points for the Glaives, so he didn’t even take a second look.
Finally, it was time for equipment.
Faceplate of the Impenetrable!
This was a Legendary Helmet for Healing Paladins, so it was given to Darkness without question.
Of course, she still needed to pay. However, since there were no competitors, she claimed it for the base price.
Memento of Tyrande!
This was an exquisite accessory for Priests. Star Baby was the one who ended up with it after bidding against March Rain. March Rain’s own accessory at the time was already quite valuable, so she decided to give up after a few bids.
Chestguard of the Forgotten Conqueror!
This was a T6 set item for Paladins, Priests and Warlocks. March Rain finally decided to unleash everything she had to claim the item.
Chestguard of the Forgotten Protector!
This was part of the cursed Warrior, Hunter and Shaman set. Although as a whole, these items weren’t in demand, Remnant Dream, Moonlight, Azure Sea Breeze, Bearded Zaza and Sakura Memories still wanted them. In the end, the final bid was not considered low at all.
Zhar’doom, Greatstaff of the Devourer!
This was the signature staff that Illidan dropped. The properties were excellent and the look of this item was rather unique. This staff was adored by countless Mages and was the signature weapon of this game update. As a result, no one wanted to let this go. Although its properties could not compare to the golden staff or the magister, it was still extremely coveted.
There was furious competition over this item. In the end it was Sesame Rice Ball who came out victorious, but he paid the price of poverty.
Lu Li sighed. It wasn’t because he wanted this staff or because there was no T6 Thief item that had dropped.
The reason for his sigh was because after all these drops, there was only a chance for one or two more items.
Was there hope for his blades?
