Chapter 289 - Preparation

When Ein escaped, Evan decided to collect Meteorite Glass and the heads of the dead members of the Tear of Light. During their battle, Eva and Ein had destroyed a large number of Meteorite Golems, so Evan didn't need to hunt. Dozens of round spheres were lying on the floor, waiting for someone to pick them up.

Evan could not show Magma Blood to Dorlus. After all, this weapon was transformed because of Evan's strange energy. It was a secret Evan wasn't going to tell anyone. At least not until he himself understood exactly what his energy did and how to control it.

Moving his heads and Meteorite Glass into his spatial ring, Evan reflected on the fight that had occurred. It was the first time he had encountered members of the strongest light organization in this kingdom, and he had seen many interesting things.

.

Equipment was an important part of any battle. If the strength of the two mages were roughly equal, the outcome of their battle would be decided by many factors. But, it would mostly depend on luck, terrain, and equipment. A mage with 5-star quality armor and weapons would easily deal with another mage with worse equipment.

Whooosh.

Evan chopped off Sara's head and moved it into his ring.

Evan thought.

When Ein cast one of the Art of the Archangels spells, her power increased several times. Only thanks to the Dragon Sigil and his anger could Evan fight Ein on an equal footing. Moreover, he had to use the power of the 69th demon, Marquis Decarabia. The power of Ein's spell stunned him. He had expected the Art of the Seven Princes of Hell that the members of the Demonic Tree were used to give him even more power.

thought Evan.

He wasn't stupid, and given Rave's story about the basic Seven Princes of Hell, Evan understood that Sin was Wrath matched a demon - Satan.

. Evan thought.

He knew that Rave mostly used spells from the Chronicles of Satan, and he wondered which spell he would get. Moreover, Evan was aware that this spell would not be like the Rave and the other members of the Demonic Tree use.

When Evan collected fourteen heads: 13 members of the Tear of Light and 1 member of Golden Glow, he headed toward Darkfil. Evan collected a total of eleven Meteorite Glass spheres and the same number of rank two Monster Core.

Furthermore, he took all of the light members' spherical rings for himself. Evan also took some Stone Lilies. He didn't know how much they were worth, but he saw no reason to keep them here. There was plenty of room in his ring.

Evan quickly returned to his riding beast. Evan had to swim in the icy water again and break the thick layer of ice. As Evan flew back to Darkfil he realized that he had too little time. He had many things to do, and he only had a year to do them all. It clearly wasn't enough.

Evan thought.

Evan didn't like this situation, but he quickly found a solution. After he gives Meteorite Glass and the heads of the light mages to Dorlus, Evan sets up a lab and goes to one of the Demonic Tree bases.

Evan knows where that place is because Avice told him about it. The base Evan has to go to is near Vextin and Darkfil.

But, first, he would wait for Kilia to come to him. He had to let her know and learn about what the newbies do in the Demonic Tree. Evan wanted to visit the Demonic Tree library, choose second level spells, and do some progression and experimentation.

Once he was done with his business, he would take an active part in Demonic Tree activities. His own goals were and would always be paramount. Everything else faded into the background.

...

A few days later, Evan returned to Darkfil. Dorlus was waiting for him and when he saw him, he invited him into his office.

Evan dumped out a few spatial rings, fourteen heads of light mages, and all the Meteorite Glass, as well as the Stone Lilies he had collected.

On his return, Evan checked what was in the spatial rings but found nothing of value or uniqueness there.. He decided that the best thing he could do was to sell it all.
