Chapter 29 - The Mafia King's Awakening - Anger (4)

nOn the other hand, Lihua finally felt that something was wrong with Wei. He looked too serious for some reason, staring towards Lang Min.
n
"Boss?
"
nThe danger in his gaze passed away before he looked at Lihua again. He stared at her small face, but she looked pretty much unaffected by his accusation.
nWhy did I hate it so much then? Wei wondered.
n
"En. How did you make Chang Fang listen to you?
"
nLihua brightened.
"Oh that!
"
nTwenty minutes before.
nChang Fang coldly said,
"You haven't proved that you aren't his mistress. So you would be staying here.
"
nLihua's nostrils flared.
"What? Of course I can prove that. Does he even know my name?
"
nLang Min stiffened.
nChang Fang narrowed his eyes at him. He looked at Lihua.
"Say your name in my ear.
"
nLihua did and then they looked at Lang Min.
nSweat trickled down the sides of his ears.
"Of course I know her name! It's-it's Wang Qian!
"
nLihua smirked.
"Hah! Didn't I tell you? My name is Song Lihua.
"
nLang Min paled for a moment before he quickly recovered. Chang Fang took out his dagger and smiled, playfully pointing it at him,
"You seem to like telling a lot of lies.
"
n
"No! She is lying! She told me a fake name when we met, and now she is giving a different one to shed responsibility!
"
nChang Fang touched his chin.
"He has a point. Do you have any proof that you are Song Lihua?
"
nLihua grimaced.
"I had but thanks to your goons I don't. When they unceremoniously pushed me in the van, my bag fell on the ground! It had my college ID in it.
"
nLang Min sneered.
"All lies!
"
nChang Fang said,
"Well then you stay here.
"
n
"This is not fair!
" She protested.
nHe glared at her.
"In which place do you think you are? This is the Underworld, not a court where you are talking about fair and unfair. What I say goes.
"
nLang Min victoriously smiled.
nLihua pursed her lips. She paused for a few moments before she curiously smiled at him.
n
"Alright then, I have one solution.
"
nLang Min snorted.
"You are bluffing.
"
n
"I am not talking to you, oldie. Butt away.
"
nHis face distorted in anger. This woman!
nLihua grinned and challenged Chang Fang.
"If you could defeat me in a game of Ludo, then I will admit that I am his mistress.
"
nChang Fang -
"...
"
nLang Min -
"...
"
nChang Fang's mouth violently twitched.
n
"Ludo?
"
n
"Yup. If I win, then you have to let me go.
"
nLang Min's fuse short-circuited.
"Are you an idiot? What's the connection between Ludo and your evidence?
"
n
"Nothing,
" she shrugged.
n
"So why!?
"
nShe chuckled.
"Didn't the Boss here say that this is the Underworld where there is no fair and unfair? So what does it matter if I place a bet that has got nothing to do with proving my identity? If I win, it's my win and I leave. I don't care if it's unconnected or unfair to you.
"
nLang Min was speechless.
nChang Fang widened his eyes. He looked at Lihua, utterly stunned and even a little impressed. She craftily spun him in his own words to get out of here.
nHe couldn't find any fault in her solution at all. He was unfair to her and she was being unfair to Lang Min. Simple.
nLihua snorted.
"If you don't feel pitiful for me for losing my ID, then why should I feel pitiful for you for placing a nonsensical bet?
"
nEven she admitted it herself that the bet was nonsensical…
nChang Fang suddenly burst into loud laughter.
"AHAHAHAHA. Amazing. Simply amazing. Hahahaha…
"
nHe vigorously clapped his thigh, unable to control it. He was close to even rolling down on the floor.
nHis subordinates looked at him, dumbfounded.
nOur Boss is laughing! He is laughing for the first time in front of us!
nChang Fang wiped the corner of his eyes that became wet with tears due to too much laughter.
"You are smart. I see talent in you. Why don't you join my Shadow Eagle?
"
n
"...
"
nWhy am I being suddenly recruited in a shady group?
n
"Alright! I accept. If I win, then you will suffer with this businessman, irrespective whether you are his mistress or not. If you win, you leave.
"
nShe nodded.
n
"But why Ludo?
"
n
"Of course I will choose a game where I am good at it.
"
nHis brow twitched.
"It's purely based on luck on how many sixes you score. Talent hardly matters.
"
nLihua proudly said,
"I am blessed with good luck.
"
n
"...
"
nChang Fang ordered.
"Bring the Ludo Board here!
"
nA few minutes later…
nLihua easily won the first game.
nChang Fang could only see the game in utter shock. Lang Min was horrified.
nSo she will leave now based on this puny game!?
n
"Hah!
" Lihua rejoiced.
"I won! I am free!
"
nHer eyes sparkled in delight.
nChang Fang pursed his lips. It hurt his ego to lose a simple board game to a young woman.
n
"Wait!
"
nLihua fumed.
"You cannot go back on your words now.
"
n
"We don't go back on our promises once we give them.
"
nThis is strangely a fair and good principle, considering that they are from the Underworld...
n
"Let's play another round! This time you will lose!
"
nLihua was stunned.
nAh? He wants to play more?
nWell, she secured her freedom anyway so she was out of danger.
n
"Alright,
" her gaze glinted.
"Let's bet some money. Whoever wins will give a hundred Yuan.
"
n
"Tsk. So cheap. Make it a hundred dollars.
"
n
"... Esteemed Boss, I don't have that kind of money on me.
"
n
"No problem. I will give in dollars if I win. You give in Yuan if you do,
" he shrugged.
n
"...
"
nHe agreed just like that?
nLang Min said,
"Wait! She cannot leave. She-
"
nChang Fang glared at him and at his signal, his subordinate badly beat him up.
n
"Shut up and stay put there. I will thoroughly deal with you later and squeeze every drop of money from you.
"
nHe went back to the game.
"Let's play.
"
nBut even after the second and third game, Chang Fang never won and the more he didn't win, the more he got competitive while Lihua won cash after cash. His subordinates were stunned to see his new side, playing a children's board game so fiercely.
nThat's when Wei and Fu Renshu charged in the scene, seeing the leader playing Ludo with Lihua.
n
