Chapter 44 - Shop And Missions
n
n
nJeremy's eyes were focusing on the transparent blue interface in front of him...
n...
nShop
nMission
nLeaderboard
n...
nAfter a bit of pause to think, Jeremy chose to report his mission first and foremost by using his mind to access the Mission option.
nSoon after, the interface shifted into another one...
nThere came a long list of missions ranging from the easiest to the hardest. However, before Jeremy could look at his missions' progress carefully, another box of notifications suddenly showed up, overlaying the missions list...
n...
nWould you like to report the missions and claim the rewards for completing them?
nYes │ No
n...
nUpon seeing those notifications, Jeremy focused his mind on the 'Yes' button. Suddenly, a somewhat opaque box appeared with five notification lines on it...
n...
nYou have received 400 SP for completing the mission, 'Kill 10 skeleton soldiers'
nYou have received 1,000 SP for completing the mission, 'Kill 5 goblins'
nYou have received 1,800 SP for completing the mission, 'Kill 2 hobgoblins'
nYou have received 2,100 SP for completing the mission, 'Pass the easy-difficulty door'
nYou have received 1,000 bonus SP for completing the mission, 'Pass the easy-difficulty door' with 100% completion
n...
n'Woah, this is a huge reward here. At this rate, I will be able to buy more things.'
nWhen Jeremy saw those five gratifying notifications, he felt so refreshed inside, for his efforts finally paid off in the form of SP. Furthermore, he didn't expect a hidden reward of 1,000 SP at all; still, more SP was always welcomed here...
nAfter some seconds had passed, the notification box disappeared, leaving only the original one behind, which was the missions list.
nNow, Jeremy was finally looking at his missions' progress...
n...
nYour Current Missions

n...
nWhen he saw that he had already completed four out of the ten missions, Jeremy nodded his head satisfyingly at his great results...
n'Still, should I kill five humans to complete that mission? I will even get 1,300 SP for completing it.'
nAfter seeing the 5th mission on the list, it was such an enticing mission that anyone could easily complete.
nAfter all, there were more than five people currently sleeping and recuperating their wounds at the corner...
nIt might not even take 30 seconds to finish the job...
n'Hahaha, what a greedy me. If it continued like that, I would receive the trait, 'Greedy', like my past life.'
nUpon chuckling depressingly at his greedy self, Jeremy thought about his past life's trait.
nAfter all, when a person lusted over some external things, especially wealth, power, foods, and benefits, while completely disregarding ethics and morals, that person would receive one of the qualifications to earn that sinful trait.
n'I had annihilated the entire town full of outlanders for the sake of obtaining that dragon's treasures...'
nShaking his head to disregard those useless and depressing thoughts from his head, Jeremy turned his focus back on the interface which was currently showing Shop, Mission, and Leaderboard.
nThen, with a single thought about the Shop option, the interface was changed into another one with two options, Buy and Sell, projecting on it.
nAgain, after seeing those two options, Jeremy chose Sell...
n...
nPlease use one hand to touch the Survival Crystal, while another hand to touch the item you want to sell
n...
nJeremy decided to sell things first before buying anything. Afterward, his left glove started shining lightly into a rectangular-shaped glow.
n*Thump*
nNot long after, a big sack dropped down to the ground heavily with a thumping sound.
nThe big sack contained many items within, which were mainly collected from behind the easy difficulty door. A part of them consisted of seven good-conditions swords, two spears, two knives, one mace, three daggers, and medicinal herbs that Jeremy had picked up along the maze's walls.
nAs for the broken weapons dropping from those weak goblins' hands, Jeremy ignored those things altogether.
nBefore those people could notice what he was trying to do here, Jeremy hurriedly touched the big sack with his other hand...
n...
nWould you like to sell the items for 536 SP?
nYes │ No
n...
nYou have received 536 SP from selling items
n...
nWithout any sound or special effect whatsoever, the conspicuous sack miraculously disappeared into nothingness...
n'Well, let's look at how many SP I've got now. Also, it's time to go shopping...'
nWith those thoughts in mind, Jeremy accessed the Buy option...
n...
nWeapons
nClothes
nMiscellaneous
nSkills
nYour Current Balance: 13,252 SP
n...
nAt the bottom of the interface, there was a new line stating about his current balance...
n'13,252 huh... Let's see the items inside those options first. I wonder if they still remain the same or not.'
nHaving thought of that, Jeremy started accessing into the Weapons first, then Clothes later, only to find out that every item inside of those two options still remained the same as last time when he took a look at them, with nothing better than common ranked items.
nA
/N: Common rank is the worst possible rank of item categories.
n'Well, there are two better-looking spears than my current steel spear displaying in the Weapons option, but they are in the same common rank with no magical power whatsoever, the same as my steel spear. As for the clothes, I don't particularly appreciate wearing those leather armors, their ventilating abilities are the worst, and I also have my mana projection to protect me all the time. So, I'd better wear this mysterious-looking hood instead.'
nShaking his head lightly, Jeremy proceeded on to the Miscellaneous option...
nCurrently, the interface in front of him had two choices to choose from, starting from Daily Appliances, which consisted of many things. For example, cooking utensils, magical refrigerator, watching machine, watch, clock, magical microwave, kettle, magical toilet, and many more things.
nThe second one was Consumables, which was consisted of those things that could be used only once or a specific number of times. For example, foods, water, medicine, herbs, mild poison liquids, cigarettes, alcohol drinks, carbonated drinks, snacks, cosmetics, shampoo, soap, flour, and many more things.
nThe list of items was as long as one could imagine...
n'Let's just buy some toilets, for there might be an emergency happening like last time.'
nAs a result of him already bringing most necessary things from Earth, Jeremy decided to buy five toilets in total. Even though they might not look that expensive, still, each toilet cost Jeremy a whopping 100 SP.
nThat was, losing 500 SP for mere toilets just like that...
nStill, a toilet was something unarguably important to our former sage...
nTo be more specific, it was for the sake of his pride and dignity that shouldn't be tarnished...
n'After all that, I am left with 12,752 SP. Then, the last one, skills...'
nAfter not finding any more attractive item from the Miscellaneous option, Jeremy proceeded to the last option, Skills.
n...
nSkill no.9, Fishing Skills
nSkill no.10, Acting Arts
nSkill no.11, Cooking Knack
n...
nSkill no.45, Unarmed Combat
nSkill no.46, Tracking Senses
n...
nSkill no.98, Spear Wielding
nSkill no.99, Sword Wielding
n...
nSkill no.149, Heightened Senses
nSkill no.150, Adrenaline Rush
nSkill no.151, Calm Mind
n...
nSkill no.164, Knife Throwing
nSkill no.165, Martial Arts
nSkill no.166, Charge
n...
nSkill no.181, Fast Hands
nSkill no.182, Marksmanship
nSkill no.183, Stealth
nSkill no.184, Balancing Feats
nSkill no.185, Breathing Control
nSkill no.186, Eagles Eyes
n...
n'With my 12,752 SP, I can buy literally any skill I want. However, I should buy only one or two skills that will be helpful for me in the immediate future first. Then after accumulating enough SP again, I will come back to buy other helpful skills for my distant future.'
nAfter seeing as many as 186 skills on the list, Jeremy frowned deeply while thinking about practical skills for his current circumstances.
nAfter all, there were 'some' skills that could be very helpful for him in the long run, but it would be immediately considered trash skills if he bought them right now, for their initial capability were like **.
nThose long-run skills needed time to grow...
nSo, the best and only choice for Jeremy to clear the hard-difficulty door without relying too much on his mana and magic was to choose the skills well.
nAfter standing there, while thinking deeply for more than 5 minutes, Jeremy finally decided...
nHe chose...
