Chapter 303 - Apology Letter

nHe couldn’t be bothered to guess who the sender was, so he opened the gift box and poured its contents onto the side table.

nThere were two items in the box – a nicely wrapped small gift box and an unopened letter.

nHe first opened the gift box and saw that it was a beautiful small ornament that looked like it was carved out of moonstone. The pink moonstone was carved to look like miniature figures of a bride and groom. The carving was intricate and realistic and looked both exquisite and romantic.

n

n

nIt must be a wedding gift from someone.

nYe Hao guessed, then he opened up the letter and soon, clearly saw the words on the letter. Ye Hao’s eyes narrowed. The paper was filled with words written with a fountain pen and the handwriting was bold and strong. It was clearly written by a man.

nYan Yan, I’ve already read the news that your wedding will be held soon. I wish you happiness and hope that you’ll be able to lead a better life at the Ye family. This moonstone ornament is a gift from my mother to you. She wants to thank you for looking after her in the hospital in the past and also wants to thank you for all you’ve done for the Mo family. She said that she hadn’t been kind to you over the past few years and shouldn’t have scolded or berated you, nor should she have helped Xia Yuwei to bully you. She’s full of regrets for her past actions and regrets not treating you better in the past. She hopes that you won’t bear a grudge against her and that you’ll be better off in the future.

nYe Hao suddenly bit his lips when he read the last word and anger swirled in his eyes.

n

n

nHe couldn’t understand why the Mo family wouldn’t leave her alone. First was Mo Yixuan, then was Li Qin and even that guy named Yang Mingyu. They all kept coming at her like a bunch of lunatics.

nWhy couldn’t they just stop harassing them?

nThey either sent text messages or mysterious packages like that, how was he to rest easy?

nIf he truly meant to wish them well, he could just do so in his heart. Why did he have to do such hypocritical things?

n

n

nYe Hao grew even more enraged at that thought and tore up the letter in his hand into pieces, turning them into tiny paper shreds.

nHe walked into the restroom and flushed the shredded paper down the toilet. He cleaned up all traces of this letter and didn’t leave a single scrap behind.

nFortunately, he had seen these sentimental things first. If Yan Yan had come across this letter, he didn’t know what kind of nonsense she’d fill her mind with. As for Mo Yixuan, his actions seemed to suggest that he wished them well but he probably secretly hoped that they’d break up. That was why his actions were meant to stir up confusion in her.

nHe was really asking for a beating!

nYe Hao slammed a fist against the wall and the veins in his arm popped up while the anger in his eyes grew clearer.

nHe walked to the tea table and picked up the moonstone carving.

n

n

nHe looked coldly at it, then brought it out of the bedroom.

nHe ran into the maid who had passed him the parcel earlier along the corridor.

n“Wang Lan, come here,” Ye Hao said coldly. A trace of anger could be heard in his voice and his tone didn’t seem too friendly either.

nWang Lan turned around and clocked his angry expression. She paused and it was a while before she finally walked over.

n“What’s wrong… Sir, is there a problem?”

nYe Hao immediately stuffed the moonstone carving into her hand.

n“I want you to throw this thing into the rubbish bin outside the door right now,” he said. Then, he immediately left in a huff.

nWang Lan looked at the ornament that shone with a faint pink light. She examined it and couldn’t tell what it was made of but she could see that it was indeed beautiful and it was a carving of a bride and groom. She liked it at first sight.

n

n

nIt’d be such a waste to throw it away.

nShe decided. Then, she went downstairs and kept this small item in her room.

n
