nChapter 19
nThe earlier incident had taken a lot of time. Assuming Su Jingting must have worked up an appetite, Xia Yishan quickly whipped up dinner in the kitchen.
nSu Jingting was watching the television in the living room, but his heart was in the kitchen. He would glance over every now and then.
nThe scent of food wafted over from the kitchen. He did not expect Xia Yishan would really know how to cook.
nThree simple dishes and one soup were served.
n“I prefer light flavoring. I’m not sure if you’d like my cooking,” Xia Yishan got Su Jingting a bowl of rice as she spoke.
n“Okay.”
nSu Jingting was quiet when he ate. He had obviously been taught table manners. Eating in silence, he finished his dinner and left nothing behind.
nXia Yishan was confused. She asked, “Best Actor Su, shouldn’t an actor control the amount he eats?”
n“I don’t need to,” Su Jingting reminded her. “Neither do you.”
nXia Yishan said nothing to that.
n‘Wow, thanks for boosting my confidence!’
nSu Jingting brought the bowls and cutlery into the kitchen. He stayed there for a long time.
nXia Yishan peeked into the kitchen out of curiosity. He saw the Master Best Actor was helpless as he looked at his hands drowning in foam and bubbles.
nBest Actor Su had no idea how to wash dishes! She was more excited than a person discovering a new land.
n“Let me do it…” Xia Yishan swiftly picked up an apron and got to the task at hand.
n“I’m guessing you were born with a silver spoon in your mouth if you don’t know how to do the dishes…”
n“Hmm.”
n“You used too much dish soap.”
n“I’ll take note for next time.”
nXia Yishan was speechless.
n‘Please don’t let there be a next time!’
nShe only saw the news from Weibo that popped up on her phone after she was done doing the dishes. She could not help but click on it.
n“From now on, you’ll be cooking, you’ll be doing the dishes, and you’ll be mine.”
nThe picture attached was three dishes and a bowl of soup.
nSu Jingting was displaying his affection publicly once more. Weibo was down due to heavy traffic again.
nEven videos of them shopping at the supermarket two hours ago had been posted. Fortunately, Su Jingting was fast to react, preventing her face from being exposed.
n“Best Actor Su, did you post on Weibo again?”
n“Yes.”
nXia Yishan was speechless.
n“Sorry, I just couldn’t help myself.”
n“I don’t suppose there are reporters hiding outside? I need to go home….”
n“No,” Su Jingting smiled and proceeded to speak, “I’ve overlooked this. I’m worried that it’d be risky for you to go out wearing this…”
nXia Yishan tried to focus her thoughts.
nSeeing her cute face as she pondered, Su Jingting gave her a pertinent suggestion. “Perhaps you could stay…”
n“I have an idea!”
nSu Jingting remained silent.
n“Best Actor Su, can you lend me your clothes?”
nSu Jingting was shocked!
nThe duo headed to the wardrobe.
nIt was Xia Yishan’s first time finding out a man’s wardrobe could be so sophisticated. It was certainly comparable to an exhibition hall.
nIt was dazzling with expensive brands.
nShe picked a black shirt that was relatively inconspicuous at the corner.
nSu Jingting retreated chivalrously.
nXia Yishan came out ten minutes later.
nSu Jingting’s eyes lit up. The girl was wearing his black shirt and had tied her clothes around her waist. Her hair was done up in a bun. She looked completely different from the casually dressed Xia Yishan earlier.
n“You look good.”
n“I don’t look like myself, right?”
n“Yes.”
n“I guess I’ll leave now?”
n“I’ll send you home.”
n“No.” Xia Yishan stopped him with both hands. “Oh, Best Actor Su. Even jumping into the Yellow River wouldn’t be enough to clear my name if you exposed yourself.”
n“Why would you want to clear your name?”
nXia Yishan noticed she said something wrong. “Why would I want to do that? I’d jump into the Yellow River and then into your embrace.”
nSu Jingting was speechless hearing that.
nHe hugged her. “I’ll get my driver to send you home. It’s hard to get a cab here.”
n
