nAt this time, Claire said, “Infact, I think that you lack something.”

nDerek blinked. “What is it?”

n

n

nDid Claire want to give him a gift?

nOh, he was kinda looking forward to it…

nClaire propped up her chin with her hand and squinted at the young man. “You lack brains.”

n“…”

n

n

nAfter school

nWhen Sheldon walked out of the school gate, the hem of his clothes was suddenly tugged twice.

nHe looked down and saw a skinny little girl.

nShe raised her small face, her eyes gleaming. She was carrying a basket of roses in her hand.

n

n

n“Big Brother, Valentine’s Day is coming soon. Can you buy a rose?”

nSheldon was taken aback for a moment.

nHis friend beside him waved his hand. “Little sister, we are all single. You should sell the roses to others.”

nUpon hearing this, the little girl bowed her head in disappointment and turned to leave.

n“Wait a minute.”

nSheldon suddenly caught up, stuffed a bill into the little girl’s hand, and grabbed the roses in her bamboo basket. “I want all the flowers.”

n

n

nThe little girl smiled happily. “Thank you, Big Brother.”

n“What are you doing!” His friend slapped him on the shoulder. “You don’t have a girlfriend. Did you buy these flowers to eat?”

nIn the setting sun, the roses looked so beautiful, and a cold, pretty face appeared in Sheldon’s mind.

nIn fact, when she smiled, she looked like a flower full of thorns in the dark night.

nCharming, but with fatal danger.

nHe went back to the Smiths’ mansion.

nAs soon as Sheldon entered the gate, he saw Claire walking towards the second floor.

nHe grabbed the roses in his hand and hurriedly said, “Claire!”

n

n

nOn the stairs, Claire turned her head and raised her eyelids. She looked expressionlessly at him with her deep cold eyes.

nSheldon almost rushed up to her, his eyes flickering.

nHe was a little flustered and stammered. “Well… these flowers are a complimentary gift. It’s a pity to throw them away, so keep… them!”

nThen, as if afraid of being rejected, he threw the flowers into Claire’s arms and ran away.

nClaire frowned slightly as she looked at the large bouquet of roses in her arms.

nAt night, Claire took half a basin of hot water and sprinkled rose petals in the water.

nSuddenly, there was a knock at her door at this moment.

n“Come in.” Claire had taken off her shoes and socks.

nShe was soaking her feet into the water. Her eyes were narrowed slightly, and she felt comfortable all over.

nSheldon walked in with a book. “This book, I…”

nLike a broken string, his voice stopped abruptly.

nHe stared at the basin under Claire’s feet in astonishment, and the rose petals floating in the water.

nA bunch of messy bare branches were thrown in the trash can.

n

n

nSheldon said incredulously, “You… you soaked your feet with the roses I gave you?!”

nClaire looked indifferent. “Is there any problem?”

n“…”

nSheldon gritted his teeth and his face turned purple with anger. After standing dumbstruck there for quite a while, he suddenly rushed out of the room and slammed the door.

nClaire curled her lips. “What’s his problem?”

nTeahouse

nGallon sat on the floor and put the teacup close to his nose. He closed his eyes, and sniffed.

nSo refreshing.

nHe took a sip. “Mr. S, how are things going? Is everything going well?”

nBehind the screen, Sheldon clenched his fists and gritted his teeth in anger. “I gave her a large bouquet of roses on Valentine’s Day, and she actually used the roses to soak her feet!”

n“Cough…” Gallon almost spouted another sip of tea. “Your sister… simply lacks a sense of romance. She’s so like a friend of mine.”

n“Your friend?”

n“Yeah, she’s damn unromantic.” Gallon remembered Claire and sighed.

n“She once had a suitor who paid a fortune to buy her a little pig of noble blood. Guess what she did? She stewed that pig and ate it.”

n
